Mr. Sushi Lonsdale

Took a chance and tried a different Sushi roll. Never made it past the mouth. The mouth wasn't having it! Last time this happened was 20 yrs ago and it was me trying sea urchin. Anyways, I'm sure its good here. It was busy on a Tuesday, so.

Excellent food, fast personable service and great location. Love coming here … there’s always lots of takeout bags ready to go at the front / very popular.

The sushi was ok, the staff were friendly. The music was too loud and hectic.
Won’t necessarily consider coming back for sushi.

Good selection. Friendly staff. Rice in rolls was too cold. Waitress was not attentive. Not sure if we should try again.

This restaurant is amazing the people that are working there they shouldn’t be serving me I should be serving them they are amazing people and they always make me feel welcome the food is amazing. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious but they price tbh is a little too much. But the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. It looks like a fancy restaurant but not too fancy and the plates. The way they give out the sushi is amazing and I know I have said a lot of amazing‘s in this review but 10,000 amazing’s isn’t enough.

Unless you are Asian, they won’t offer you tea. I came in and was offered water and few minutes later Asian couple come in and sat across from us and they were offered tea. Sushi was not great, the salmon was not fresh and when I mentioned this to the server he gave me attitude and implied I didn’t know what I was talking about.

The food was really good, and they were able to accommodate a big party of 14. Price on the food is very reasonable. Would definitely come back

The sushi is pretty decent, overpriced but the location is pretty good. Especially since there aren't other sushi places in lower lonsdale

Not only did they take 1.5 hours to prepare a small order and then give it with no explanation or apology or extra item for inconvenience. Ordered just before 6: 30pm wasn’t ready till 8: 00pm. That’s not the worst part It’s that during this weather, they don’t properly salt their sidewalks in snowy and icy conditions located on a fairly steep hill. Something that is a responsibility of a busy business.
We’re talking almost right outside their door.
Thinking the walk was clear and salted I slipped on black ice sprained my ankle literally had to limp in to get my order and limp out. They didn’t seem to care at all as I was struggling to come in to pick it up… the sushi isn’t bad but the customer service sure seems to be.
Many sushi options in the area…
Definitely won’t be giving my business here again till they make this situation right.

Hands down one of the worst experiences I’ve encountered in my life while dining in for sushi. I walked in with my mother a few nights ago as I’ve always ordered from Mr. Sushi whether that’s in person or via Uber, door dash and skip. We sat down and ordered some appetizers while still skimming through the menu deciding on what rolls we’d like to order etc. The waiter shortly brought us over our miso soup abd gomae - we still needed a few minutes on deciding on what rolls to order (still had the menu in front of me) the gomae was placed down on the SEALED menu and I took a few bites waiting for the waiter to come by and take our order. A random waiter runs up to our table with such aggression and snaps the menu I had in front of me (gomae was still on top just slightly touching it) causing that to almost fall over.and slammed it on the side of the couch. I said oh I’m still ordering and he says “the menu should be here” and storms off. He was so rude giving looks and faces. I’m still in shock how someone can treat a customer like that? My mother ended up saying something and he mentioned that he needed to clean up the SEALED menu (he was so upset that the food was touching the plastic menu) we didn’t stay. We were charged for the gomae, miso soup and gyoza that was still on the way. I will never come back here again nor will any of my friends or family. I have ordered thousands of dollars worth of sushi from them…not to mention I always tip. Very sad to cross out this local sushi joint from my list. I live in west van and would drive out to eat there. Horrible service overall. Traumatizing.

Nice staff, but super salty sushi, we are not picky about the taste of sushi, but that one was different, and we could not enjoy!

A tidy and clean Japanese restaurant in Lonsdale area. The food is tasty and fresh with a reasonable price in a busy area.
The patio is a good eating area. We enjoy our meal there even people are walk by. The little patio is higher than the street so the car and people won't bother you. The indoor is big enough for customers enjoying their meals.

Whoever answers the phone is extremely rude. Terrible customer service. Will not order from here again.

Dynamic rolls are too big to eat in one bite, but the nigiri is really good, fresh fish and good temp rice

It's not your high end sushis, but everything we ordered was fresh, well priced, with good portions and a super friendly service! We'll be back!

This was a $22 Chirashi Don. The thickness is thinner than a chopstick. This was the worst Chirashi Don I have ever had. You can barely taste any fish since there is barely anything! If you want to wasted your money on garbage food, this is the one for you! If not, order somewhere else. There are countless other alternatives with much much better quality and price. This was my first time ordering from Mr. Sushi Lonsdale and this will be my last time ordering from them too:)

Liked their box! Chicken Katsu was actually nice.rice not too sweet and the amount they use is just right. After sushi Nami gone to west van this is my sushi place.

Best service! Food! & Price!

It's a Friday night, every place is busy and Mr. Sushi is packed, take out orders are overflowing two tables. Thinking to yourself fat chance I'd get a table. Still I check the wait time. I'm immediately greeted by a enthusiastic staff and seated. I have questions about the menu and they take the time to explain and recommend food while dealing with a rush. How can service get much better? I end up over ordering and they somehow get the food to me in 10 minutes. Keep in mind they are in a massive rush and the take out order is being picked up as fast as they are being put out. Food was amazing and somehow after everything the bill only came out to 50$ for two people over ordering. The 25% tip is not enough. Had to custom it!

Excellent service, food was good too. Generous portions. Only disappointment was they only had bottled beer, and only small bottles.

Our favourite sushi place in the Lonsdale area. Fresh, nicely presented, good size portions. They just reopened for dining in (Jan 2022), which is great news! Highly recommended.

Good quality but definitely not worth it. I bought tofu, rice and a salad for almost $17? The salad is one scoop, ridiculous for the price.

Their food is really good. I think it's one of the best sushi places in town. Their tea is decent, and their tray A and B are really great. Misu soup is not bad.

Really good sushi. We get takeout from Uber Eats and often choose Mr Sushi Lonsdale. They have great miso soup and tempura.

Not the best sushi ever but really good for the price and location. Staff are always fast and friendly and I love that you can order online.

I've lived on the north shore for 18 years and I've been to many sushi places and I've seen a lot of them come and go.

Mr Sushi is definitely my favourite! The quality of the sushi definitely matches the price and that is basically a match made in heaven!

Great takeout - fresh & delicious, excellent quality. Note the Spicy tuna does have some kick and isn't a "cone" as mentioned in Uber Eats. Happy there's no styro but would like to see them use paper rather than plastic containers.

Few weeks ago I was craving some fresh sushi so bad so decided to give this place a go hindered by the reviews. And I was amazed at the quality of the sashimi! It was sooo good ️ Would definitely order from here again

We LOVE Mr. Sushi! They are so fresh, nothing smells fishy at all, my son looooves their yam tempura and chicken teriyaki, and I love their combos! And always order extra spicy sauce on the side, I dip every piece in the sauce!

Starving -》Satisfied! Super sushi, shouldn'da stuffed several suddenly, swallowing salmon so scrumptious! Spicy scallops slurp slurp slurp. Siblings seemed seriously satisfied. Second serving summoned since Saturday, solomly swear. Strongly suggest sampling Mr. SUSHI!

They are amazing. I got my sushi delivered using uber eats, and then ordering them again cuz they are so amazing. Try their awesome roll and salmon oshi if u havent. These are the best sushi ever.

Like the other branch, sometimes it tastes like the food is fresh and sometimes it’s not so fresh. But the wasabi and ginger are almost always stale and I don’t trust to eat it. Good place for a quick sushi fix, they have lots of variety and prices are low.

This is my go to sushi place! Good food, good prices and good service. Everyone there is very friendly and kind.

This place does a great job and had ok sushi for the price, portions were a little small for the price. If they can be more like Tokyo Joe, that would be better, as they have better quality sushi at a lower price, and the portions are much bigger at Tokyo Joe.

Ordered rainbow roll. Salmon smelled bad.that’s unacceptable! Very disappointed. My first and last time ordering from here.

Tasty foods and very clean restaurant. Servers are always greeting people and their manager very care about their customers. I went their few times and one day, I got foods except Veggie Sunomono. I called them and they were very sorry about their miss. Their manager deliver the foods at my home. It was pleasant experience to have as a customer. And I understand it can happen in the busy time as dinner to late dinner. I love Mr. Sushi restaurant.

The experience was great, the staff were friendly. The menu is awesome and almost all the items are delicious.

Epic disappointment 3 orders in a row now. Client experience is consistently a bad one and the staff/management don’t seem to care. I spent $115 last night and multiple items were forgotten including wasabi and ginger. Called in and was left on hold for over 15 minutes only to be told there is nothing they can do to improve my experience. Currently looking for a new sushi spot in North Van! You guys need to do better.

Great food but my order was ready 25 minutes later than they said. They are so busy that it's understandable that the food can take a long time but I wish they had given me a more accurate pickup time.

Once restaurants opened after post Covid it was really good to get some take out from Mr Sushi. Look at the presentation.it’s as tasty as it looks! Please help them out and support them. Always looking forward to seeing you guys. Thank you.

So I read the reviews, went to try it out.
The rolls were decent but definitely not living up to the hype.
The calamari was pretty bad. Couldn’t even chew it.

Would I go again? Unfortunately no.

Food was delivered cold from UBER eats. My guess it was made 15-20 minutes before it was picked up. Allowing them to delivery food that was already cold and no longer edible, gave me no choice but to throw it out.

The sushi was alright but really overpriced. We were seated in a non section in the middle of the restaurant where we were basically forgotten about and didn't have a dedicated server. Won't be coming back as there are better options in the area.

My favorite sushi place. Food is delicious and always on time, servers are very polite and helpful. Complete and assorted menu. Neat and clean store.

Service was top notch and so fast. The food was perfect. Cold asahi in giant cold glasses. The rolls were expertly done and my friend enjoyed the katsu don rice bowl. The agadashi tofu looks amazing! I had severe table envy. Next time I'll try. All in all on a Friday night on the north shore where the line ups are log jammed, Mr sushi is a hidden gem. Great job!

Went here for a later dinner with my family, and while we had to wait a few minutes for a table, it was a fantastic experience. When we sat down they served us hot green tea which was perfect for the chilly night.

I got a salmon and unagi roll, both were delicious. My dad said it was some of the best ngiri that he had ever had! The prices were more than reasonable, I will definitely be back!

Great sushi choices and the prices are very good! We will be making this place our go to sushi place for a long time! Try the “Mikes Roll”.

Delicious. Ordered the Nabeyaki Udon and the broth was nice and savory, noodles cooked well and I appreciated that they didn't drop the tempura into the soup as many other places do which makes them soggy by the time you eat them.
