Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery - West Kelowna

Arriving at this beautiful winery, is something like a fairytale. The scenic views are breathtaking. We highly recommend the tasting room as well as the restaurant Modest Butcher. The wines are very white wine forward, however, you will not be displeased as they have very high standards. We were so impressed that my wife decided to become a wine club member so that says something lol. Perfect for a date night or long weekend stay.

I love that I can walk into the wine shop at any given time and am greeted with waves and smiles. I often put one (or two) of the pourers to the test on pairing with my planned meals at home and have not been disappointed.even if it's just scratch made pizza (thanks Holly)!
I am a huge stickler for customer service and Mt. Boucherie Estate is at the top of my list. I have dabbled with blends from other vineyards, but they just don't. "taste" the way the blend should. As they say. "you get what you pay for" and Mt. Boucherie definitely rates at the top of my wine selections. I have my faves! "Les Cinq Sink" and "Blaufränkisch" are my two go-to's! Well worth the visit to discover your wine pairings!

We had a wonderful afternoon here! They were very welcoming with our dog so we could sit on the patio and have a tasting with him. The view is gorgeous and the rosè here is unmatched. Our server was fantastic (I’ve forgotten her name, she was British!) and we had a great chat with her. The wines are very good.

We didn’t realise there was a restaurant on site but once we were told their was happy hour we made a reservation for after our tasting and enjoyed $5 Pinot Gris and $8 mini burgers! The food was delicious and so good after the tasting.

Today we visited Mt. Boucherie winery. This was the third Winery we had visited today and the seventh in total since my family came into town from out of province. Domenic started our visit with a very warm greeting. Sidney was our tasting associate.

Sidney was absolutely amazing.she was so patient with my elderly family. It was poetry perfection.
I have not seen such exceptional customer service in a very long time.
She was incredibly kind, considerate, and her knowledge was exceptional. She took the initiative to create a mini library tasting all in the efforts to try to find the perfect wines for them to LOVE.which they did.

Although some of the offerings were not to the liking of my party, there were more wines appreciated at this winery than any other we have visited.

A beautiful site to have a (or several) glasses of wine. While the place was busy with both stag and stagette parties when we visited in June, they were able to fit our party of 4 humans and 1 dog on the patio.

Exemplary service from Amber, who was polite, knowledgeable about Mt. Boucherie's wines and had a great sense of humour.

Ex.she asked me if anyone had ever compared me to Paul Giamatti's character in Sideways, which everyone at our table found funny. Even me!

Recommended.

Used to be a smaller and nicer place, now its a big winery, corporate, 10$ per person tasting fee no waving fee with purchase.
Tasting experience the guy did not know much about the wine, not super friendly neither.so it was a bit disappointing compare to all the vineyard we visited.

The wine tasting experience was probably one of the worst I’ve ever experienced, the hosts were inattentive and made us wait an extensive period of time despite not being busy. The architecture of the estate itself was wonderful, but the tasting experience itself was abysmal. Do not recommend, as another reviewer had said, “it left a bad taste in my mouth, and not talking about the wine”. There are many better vineyards and winery’s out there that are so much more deserving of both your time and your money.

Enjoyed a wonderful late afternoon sojern with friends, a 2019 Reserve Merlot- and a charcuterie board.

Amazing food and wine, but compared to previous times the food quality was reduced. The pork belly was way overcooked and the steak was cooked at medium which was fine. I am a huge fan of the Mt. Boucherie red wine and it paired every well with the food we ordered. Definitely will be back as it's the best steak in Kelowna.

The tasting room is gorgeous and the girl that works it presently is amazing! We enjoy popping in for a tasting every so often to see what's new plus grabbing any new wines that have been released. The Modest Butcher upstairs is fab for Happy Hour - a favourite amongst family and friends! We've been frequenting this spot for a couple of years now and always enjoy ourselves but do find that the menu never changes which has lead to some boredom. They must have some talent in the kitchen, let them mix it up a little! Add a funky vegan soup and some new shareable items for your locals that frequent your winery all year long. We LOVE the wine and the staff so we will keep coming but we would love to see the menu (happy hour and regular) refreshed:) CHEERS!

What a difference from the old wine shack that used to be here. So fresh, new, spacious and exciting. Nice to see this wonderful new store. We were greeted immediately by a friendly knowledgeable young lad at the front and encouraged to look around, stay for lunch or try a wine tasting. We did the wine tasting. Very friendly server who knew all about the history of the winery.

We popped in here for a wine tasting and ended up staying for some food and a cocktail. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. They really struck a great balance between formal professional but also personable. Lovely view and atmosphere. Highly recommend as somewhere to hang out for an hour or two and unwind. Thank you for having us!

Wines were good, service not so much. My smile was bigger than the concierge receptionist, she took us to the table and just left without saying anything. Our pourer was very knowledgeable however again they just keep disappearing on you. Other wineries have exceptional service compare to them. Their wines were great but I will probably not go back again.

As an experienced individual in the restaurant industry I can say with professional honesty there needs to be a manager present to witness the lack of respect from the hosts and the very off putting/rude lady that served us.
After some appys we decided to skip the entree and save ourselves from the further bad service. She seemed very rude and ruined the beautiful view.

The view can only get you so far and as the okanagan has so much competition the only thing this place lacked was a Manger overseeing the terrible experience. 99% sure they wouldn't have acted this way with a boss around.
Its a Shame as I sell your wine but debating not doing so now. My Advice "Order a drink wait 15 minutes and if your off put and get a rude server like we were pay the $10 and head somewhere else" don't commit to a entree out the gate happy we didn't.

Had a blast here. Every single staff member was so friendly and knowledgeable. We ate an early dinner at the restaurant and our server Kat was wonderful. Amazing views and delicious food. Went down to the tasting room and had a great experience. It's a stunning winery without the pretentious snooty vibes. Had a quick tasting with a large friendly lumberjack man. Will return!

Literally waited 20 min for a beer. Great view. Restaurant service standards are lacking.

Update: recieved a very cheeky reply from winery. The final result was 35 min for a beer to arrive and the food hit the table before the first drinks for our group. We won't be going back nor recommending this winery.

I loved the vibe, the wine shop and the grounds were beautiful and well kept. The wine was good, but the tasting and the wine consultant was rushed and they seemed uninterested. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as the tasting and experience is just as important as the wine. Would have expected a better tasting experience and focus from the staff, especially when the tasting fees are not waived with purchase.

My newly Wed husband and I love the wine here.so we decided to book a wine tour with a stop here with all our friends and family. We were sat out in the sun with our parents and unfortunately the servers were slow to serving us causing us to be delayed for the rest or the afternoon and over heated. When asking what fragrance a certain wine had we were told to use our imagination and to figure it out on our own. With no information on what we were drinking it was rather disappointing. I also asked for water which I received a bit of sass with a response of please be patient which in my opinion I was. Not sure if we will be back. The staff need to be educated on the wine.

Very nice place and view! They have different ropes of tasting but I like the variety they have each has 5 different wines to taste, this is not like other wineries where they discount the taste price from your purchase if u get to purchase something but I still think is pretty good price lol very nice area to drive or stop at other wineries! Most likely will be visiting again!

I love love this winery! I highly recommend it. You are never rushed in your tastings. The view is also incredible. The employees are so personable and friendly. They definitely go above and beyond. It’s more of an experience than just a tasting. I would highly recommend this place to everyone (I do to all visitors that I know!). As a wine club member, I take all my friends and family here last on a wine tour. I like to save the best for last! All the wines are delicious and have several different price points. At the end of the tastings, I love to go upstairs to the Modest Butcher for incredible food. They are super accommodating to food allergies. You won’t be disappointed!

I came to this winery with a group of 8 and considering this is a large group, I made a paid reservation online ($12/person) to secure seating. I booked their Wine Tasting with Charcuterie options.

When we arrived, the lady at the counter informed us that the charcuterie is not included in the $12 and it’s another $27 for the charcuterie board. We agreed to get a board keeping in mind we’ll all just share. We were seated right away which was great. We enjoyed the view, the ambiance and the service. However, the charcuterie board was enough to feed 2 people, which was quite disappointing. We asked to order a second board, but the server said the kitchen is starting to pick up so they couldn’t provide us with another. However, when we went upstairs (their wine tasting is downstairs and resto is upstairs) there were only 3 tables being served. This was on a Thursday afternoon.

We especially liked the wine so 7/8 of us purchased 1-2 bottles each, keeping in mind that the tasting fee would be waived/refunded. When we asked if the wine tasting fee would be refunded, the lady at the counter said the tasting fee is not refundable even with a purchase of a bottle. To my experience at other wineries, the wine tasting fee would be waived if a bottle of wine was purchased. There was no indication that the wine tasting fee would not be waived if guests bought a bottle of wine. There were about 10 bottles of wine that was bought and the wine tasting fee was still not waived.

I think their tasting fees not being waived if buying a bottle of wine and the charcuterie option should be better communicated to avoid confusion to their customers. It was a disappointing experience, but the view, ambiance and wine made up for it. After this experience, I would recommend future guests to double and triple check the rules to this winery.

The only downside was that the pourer gave a quick simple explanation of the wines, and not anything above or beyond.

It was lovely visit for wine Tastings.
The new place is more spacious & inviting. Staffs very nice ready to greet wine lovers.

Some really good wines here. Tried out the Tomahawk and some crab legs in their restaurant “The Modest Butcher. ” They also have a full bar

The wine tasting was fun and the view is great all seasons of the year! We went on a weekday so it was quiet, giving us lots of time to talk with our knowledgeable wine server. We did not eat at the restaurant, but it looked very nice!

Had a great tasting experience with Matt, to which I purchased a merlot ice wine to add to my collection. Will definitely be back here when I visit again!

We came to Kelowna all the way from Ontario this fall and actually ate lunch here twice it was that good! Service and wine were also to die for! Would definitely recommend!

Amid the new buildings construction, nice cosy friendly place. I can see how this place will lose its charm after the new building is finished. Progress is just that and passing on the costs to the customer is the reality. Seeing big money at other locations, it's hard to watch local wine prices, in general, climb upwards and perhaps lose the VQA's competitive edge.

My fiancé and I visited Mount Boucherie Estate Winery for the first time yesterday. Mount Boucherie was one of 12 West Kelowna wineries participating in the “Sip with your Sweetheart” self-guided wine tour event. Compared to the 11 other wineries we visited, Mount Boucherie was very skimpy with its wine sample and didn’t put much effort into its treat. For this event, they provided visitors with a (very) small glass of ice wine and a boring pre-wrapped Purdy’s chocolate. My fiancé and I are red wine drinkers, so this did nothing for us. The server wasn’t very personable and seemed eager for us to leave unless we wanted to pay for additional samples. The entire experience was lackluster. Considering there are several other wineries in walking distance that provided us with a more memorable experience, I highly doubt we will return to Mount Boucherie.

If I could give Mt. Boucherie Winery 6 Stars I would! Amazing product and absolutely outstanding service. I recently contacted them to make an order for my wife's favourite wine and I was overwhelmed by how helpful they were at finding exactly what I needed and more! Thank you so much for making our first wedding anniversary extra special!

Amazing winery and product. My wife and I visited the winery and we got a super tasting with a beautiful presentation of the products. They are really professional and give alot of information. During my next BC trip, it's sure I return there:)

Great local Lakeview heights winery. Friendly staff over the years I've been going. Make sure to add this little gem to the list if your touring the beautiful area. My favorites would probably be the zweigelt or ehrenfelser.
