Gorgeous building and incredible trove of BC fiction and non fiction. Phenomenal selections and curation. Found many BC books I’d been looking for. Enjoyed losing myself in here. Dogs welcome too! Treats in the back ;)

This bookstore feels like a warm, beautiful historical museum where you want to spend at least 3 hours. And the staff is incredible!

Great selection of books. Can always find something that interests. Large youth selection with a d cent sized graphic novels for kids and teens.

I always see this bookstore whenever I’m down town and finally decided to stop and check it out. I was blown away at how beautiful this bookstore is. I loved the ceilings inside and as far as books go, there was an amazing selection of books to search through. I found the books to be very fairly priced as well and the woman that helped me was very friendly. This will be a bookstore that I will definitely frequent!

Munroe's has always been my favorite book store. I will come from Vancouver to Victoria just to spend time in Munroes. The variety of books and the presentation has been constant for many years.

Oh this book store is still as fabulous as I remember it from my childhood. One not to missed if you are in Victoria

I pre-ordered a signed copy of the new Steven Erikson book, The God is Not Willing, all the way to London U. K.and Munro's delivered a perfect copy with the exact author signiture and book quote I requested. Great communication throughout the process and great packaging. All around a great experiance and I will order again.

Beautiful bookstore in a renovated old building with stunning tapestries hung across the wall. They have a well-organized wide selection of books, and a whole children's section in the back. They have books of all kinds! The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful! This place is truly the booklover's dream. I could spend hours browsing in here! There's also stationary tucked around the corner in the front, as well as a section of beautiful and witty greeting cards.
This is the perfect place to wander after a nice lunch around downtown. There is a wheelchair accessible ramp, but it is rather steep.

Everytime I stop in to sign copies of my children's book, Kirsten and all the staff are so friendly, professional and knowledgeable about their specialty, books!

The book store was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. 5 stars because we were able to find a special edition of Stephen Fry's Troy that couldn't be found on Amazon!

I went to this store when I was in Victoria. I felt bored on the beach and decided to purchase The collected tales- Nikolai Gogol. I read all his novels in the Russian language, and decided to do vice versa, English version is also good, interesting book…almost nailed it. If someone is interested in reading it after me, please answer this comment. P. S. I am from Toronto, so that I will give it for free to someone from my city.

If you are a book lover, it's a must-visit for you. Founded by Nobel-prize winner Canadian author Alice Munro and her erstwhile husband James Munro in early 60s, the store holds the old-style book-store charm, on purpose. Situated on the Government Street, at the heart of the downtown, the place is and will continue to be perennial favorite to lose myself in my favorite bookstore.

Munro books is an amazing bookstore. They have good covid protocols given the small space. They have friendly helpful staff and a good selection of books and other reading material. They also have puzzles and games, making a great shopping experience.
They do compete against larger stores, so making sure they get the business they deserve keeps this gem open.

They are very knowledgable. Will order books. Have a great selection and are very professional. The store us staff owned and in a heritage building located in old downtown

Munro's is a gem in Victoria. From the building's architecture to the friendly and helpful staff, it is one of my favourite bookstores I've come across.

Super helpful staff. I had no idea what to get my teenager and based on my descriptions they found several books she loved!

A beautiful bookstore with an excellently curated selection of books. Their special order service brings in books faster than Amazon delivers, in my experience. Staff are great as well.

Their bargain books curators are awesome. Every so and so months, there's a pile of books more interesting than Goodreads recommendations.

This place is dangerous. I have yet to walk out of here without at least one book under my arm. Whether it's from the mark down section or regular price their selection is second to none.

Munro's used to be on such a high pedestal for me. I remember coming here on my first trip to Victoria and being in awe of the design of the building and the selection it had.
The decorum is still great, however the prices have changed and not for the better. Maybe it's because of the prime location/area it's in but some of the prices they have for books is just beyond reasonable. There are several books I looked at that are being sold for above asking price and it's a shame.
Russells Books is expanding and for good reason. They have far more to offer and their prices are reasonable. Something Munro's doesn't seem to have anymore.
I fear this place is riding off of its name now more than anything else.

Wonderful curated selection of discounted books (not all discounted). The fiction wall is jam packed with some of the best contemporary titles. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Always a must when we visit Victoria. I usually pick up a book or three on Canadian history every time I visit. Highly recommended!

Such a beautiful environment to browse & shop in. Old world design meets a fabulous selection of books & unique items. I would definitely recommend it to locals & visitors.

It's full of books and it's close to my office:) If they don't have the book you want in stock you can order it online, which is a super convenient way to support local business.

Nice bookstore but quite crowded. Feels commercialized and not quaint, so it seems more like a nicer version of Chapters Indigo

My favorite bookstore! We're from the lower mainland area and don't get here as often as we'd like but this is an absolute must. Beautiful heritage building and great selection, with books you can't find at the bigger stores. I could spend a few hours here easily. Wonderful place.

Great selection, friendly knowledgeable staff, and a great atmosphere all around. They have been around forever and there is a good reason for it. It is the first place I go when I need a book or a unique card for a gift. Overall, just a great local business worth supporting.

It's good to see Book Stores can still thrive, and Munro's is a great one in central Victoria with plenty of books to peruse. All categories covered. If you still love to pick up a book and read.than this is one of the best places in downtown Victoria to find that book. Unfortunately I am kindle type of guy, but I still appreciate a good book store!

Fantastic selection of all books New to old, second hand, any genre. These guys got the stuff. Always available for a phone call and will hold items for you. Great service, great product and great business.
