We were so impressed with the food and presentation that we ordered another 100 to give out at a recent birthday party (they even delivered!).

Everyone love it, especially the fact it wasn’t rock hard the next day. Thank you!

I tried the durian mochi. They are so good! I'd eat 5 of these everyday if I could afford that lifestyle

I have been to this location 5 times since I live nearby. I have tried many items, some are amazing while others are so so but I kept coming back for the amazing ones.
I really love their taco cakes, they're cute, tasty and light. I'll say that the chocolate is the best then next is the chestnut. I'm not a big fan of their mochi cakes, it's a tad bland than what I like though it seem to be selling well. FYI those are heavy and filling. If you want a savory item, go get the pork floss mini mochi cake. It doesn't stretch much as I expected yet the flavor is great. I also got my hands on the melon cake which reminded me of Japan. I never thought that I could find one over here for such an affordable price. The cream and the fruit were harmonious. This will be a fun surprise for parties.
This place has a few tables inside for dining in.

Nice and efficient service! First time at Nam Dae Moon, so wanted to try a variety of items - the Chestnut & Date and Sesame Glutinous Rice Cakes, and Mango and Taro & Dried Meat Floss Mochi. Favorites were the mango mochi and chestnut & date rice cake. The black sesame relied on its loose topping for flavour, but the chestnut/date flavour was strong and built into the cake itself. The mochis had ample filling but at $5 to $6, isn't your everyday treat.

It's nice that they have both sweet and savoury options. Unfortunately they're best eaten on the day of or within 2 days (short shelf life), so I couldn't purchase more at once. Will be back for some of their other offerings in the future!

For the price this place really wasn't all that. The mango mochi was good but for something that's $6 for one large mochi it was just okay.the dessert "taco" was good and had a small piece of mochi. Overall, if you don't care what you spend then the food is not but if you are watching your wallet and want to try this place, just be aware its a pricy place.

The people were wonderful. Very helpful and so nice and the mochi was amazing. I will be going back to try the rice cakes later.

So…. I love mochis so I was excited to try this place. Had I known it was Korean type mochi I would’ve saved my $20 elsewhere. The chestnut and date rice cake was sooooo dense and dry it was hard to eat. I can’t even force myself to finish it and even offered to my family but no one enjoyed it. Each Mochi ball was $6-7 and it was small. We got the salted egg yolk and pork floss and the mango mochi. My son didn’t even want the mango one. He said it didn’t taste good, the mango inside had turned brown. The only saviour was the salted egg yolk one. Although it’s good, it’s not something I would ever go get again. The package was very cute though but very wasteful.

Tried the rice cakes here and loved it. Cakes are the the right amount of fluffy and chewy. The osmanthus cake could really do with a lot more osmanthus flavor. Other than that no complaints

We enjoyed going to the Richmond location and we are happy to see another location open up closer in Burnaby.

For myself, the rice cake snacks feel very unique. I recommend trying their signature items before trying other flavors.

One downside is I didn’t see any free parking nearby. Only city street parking.

A few of us tried a few mochis for the first time at the Burnaby location. The review is only based on the mochis. The ratings are from 1 (worse) to 5 (best) star. All the mochis had a nice smooth texture and were a decent size.

Mango mochi – 4 star – filled with fresh mango and light whipped cream. The mango was just ripe. Not overly sweet. Slightly mushy.
Durian mochi – 5 star – if you LOVE Durian, you won’t be disappointed. It’s filled with fresh durian (I am not a durian fan but I could smell it even before it’s opened) and light whipped cream. A bit on the pricey side, over $10 with taxes.

Purple Sweet Potato & Sweet Red Bean mochi – 3 star – the four of us all agreed it looked prettier than the taste. Blah tasting.

The place is located off Imperial and Royal Oak in Burnaby. There are 2 locations on the west coast and one on the east coast of Canada. When you walk in, not all the choices are visible. I am not sure if they sold out early or it because they only offer a limited quantity per day. Note the menu on their website isn’t the same as the one posted at the store. I would have tried the matcha mochi. There are a couple of interesting combinations (salted egg yolk) if you love trying different things. Over the top on the packaging.

Very good rice cakes for anyone looking for a gluten free treat. Sesame is my favourite flavour and should be eaten on the same day as being made and good for sharing as the pieces are individually cut in small bite size pieces. It will get dry over time, so best to get them in the morning or early afternoon for better chewy factor. Staff will note any sold out items on a menu board at the ordering counter. Can eat in or take out. Credit cards accepted.

I came here yesterday and got 4 mango mochi, it was a nice treat. And they are giving away a free thermo bag now.

It is totally not fresh, hard as rock. How could they claim that they made fresh daily. Won't go back again.

Rice cakes are overpriced, tasteless, dry and is like eating sand. Mochis? Not worth the price, TNT is better.

Worst ricecake ever. This is not the Korean style ricecake. Have no idea why the store name is Namdaemoon.

A spot with mochis filled with creative flavours. There's something for everybody. The fried dough is unfortunately only at the Richmond location. I tried the persimmon lava mochi which I thought would be like a custard steamed bun but it was really a ripe persimmon inside. All the other flavours I tried were good too (mango and durian).

Already a big fan, and came by the new location here with mom for Lunar New Year treats. The black sesame glutinous rice cake is so good and perfect for the occasion. Also tried their new persimmon mochi - so good! It's so juicy and exploded in my mouth - highly recommended.

We love Mochi/Dango and have been all over Japan trying it, we were excited to try this. The mochi was soft and the filling was nice, was it worth 5 bucks maybe. The service was great, but it scored low on the amount of over packaging for this product not environmentally friendly at all.
