Nero waffles

Expected it to be spectacular.wasnt. As soon as we finished our waffle inside it was cleaned up to help usher us out. Kinda of like a factory. Im going to make mine at home from now on. Paid parking on street only

It was rainy and cloudy all week, but on Saturday it was sunny for the first time in a while.
We were so excited about the offer to go for brunch that we were told that the indoor space was full, so we made a lineup and after a 20-minute wait, we were shown to outdoor seats.

Nero, a place I've long admired, has recently made changes to the berry mascarpone dessert that are disheartening. They've opted to mix whipping cream into the mascarpone, seemingly to cut costs by reducing the amount of mascarpone used. Surprisingly, this alteration coincides with a notable price increase to $18. As a dedicated customer, I've appreciated Nero's commitment to quality. However, this shift towards compromising the dish's integrity while raising the price is concerning. I've shared my observations with the staff, and they acknowledged the change; agreeing that the dessert isn’t the same anymore.

Nero, please reconsider this approach; maintaining excellence should always be a priority, even if it means a slightly higher cost for your patrons.

It was a delicious brunch experience with my family here. Their manager even made it to our table to check in on their service and performance.

The salmon eggs Benny had amazing waffles. I’ve never had waffles this light and fluffy.

This was my first time here and I must say their Waffles are just perfectly crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside. Service was excellent and the wait time was just 5mins. Their must try from the menu is ""All the Berries" waffle. Definitely my favourite spot for brunch.

Not the biggest waffle fan here, but I have to admit their savory and sweet selection of waffles are pretty tasty. I got a savory avocado waffle first. The salad was fresh and the whole dish was pretty filling. Of course, I couldn’t go without trying their sweet menu so I got a tiramisu waffle I absolutely loved.

Another thing I liked was the ambience which was super cozy! The tables on the outside became my favorite area since you get a good view of the street.

I would definitely recommend this place for a nice brunch with friends or a cute date night spot!

Belgian style waffles! It was warm and fresh. I like the custard filled one and plain one. A bit doughy tho… hope had more texture.

There’s an un-patience waitress but the waiter serves the best.
The waffles are good, as well as the coffee.
It’s better to make a reservation first, otherwise you will need to wait up to 30mins.
I will not go back again for the food but for the waiter ;-)

Brought the wife and my kids in here for some breakfast and the waffles were spectacular! Will definitely come back. 5 star service and food!

I was definitely one of those people who thought, how good could waffles really be? But wow, Nero Waffles is a game changer. The Berry & Mascarpone waffle is amazing, fresh, and delicious. Great portion size for the price and lots of unique menu options.

Only thing, be prepared for a bit of a wait. Every time we've visited it's been about 30-40 minutes, but definitely worth it.

It's a cozy corner cafe. They serve several selections of either, sweet or savory waffles. You get to choose between Brussels or Liege (check their website for a detailed description of each). They also serve both hot and cold drinks. If you're a dark (chocolate) chocoholic, I suggest you try their dark Belgian chocolate drink to pair with your waffle!

Wanted a late night pick me up and decided to try our Nero’s waffles. Arrived just a 9-915 and didn’t have to wait too long to get seated.

We ordered the following:

Heaven - I assume it’s because strawberry is heaven. Their homemade berry coulis was not over powering and and the right of sweetness. Strawberries are not in season so I understand why they’re weren’t too sweet, so it made the waffle a little bland since the whip cream was lacking as well. If ever, I’d want to order it with ice cream next time.

Banella brûlée - torched sugared bananas. Need I saw more? Their chocolate whip cream and ice cream added worked well with the dish.

Their waffle base is interesting - light and crunchy but has a more salty flavour to it, which I’m new too.

I would return but with modified features to my order

The taste was quite good. I appreciate the attention to detail, such as a delicate crisp on the bananas foster waffle. The smoked salmon waffle was quite flavourful, and the sweet waffle was the right amount of pull and chewiness, almost like an enriched dough instead of a flaky waffle. I think the value could be a little bit better for the price and amount of food.

Place used to be good in quality, but today, we ordered sweet waffles but waffles was extremely salty.
In the beginning after two bites staff asked if it's good, we said yes but it's two bites after and we were trying to get the sweetness out of it with combining chocolate and ice cream, but after 1/3 I couldn't carry on, and notified our server.
Regards to staff, they guy was sooo surprised that waffle is salty, and instead of accepting, tried to argue, I would say politely not in a bad way, but he mentioned I'm gonna taste it.
I mean even if you want to do that you should not at all tell your customers, that gives your customers feelings they are lying what so ever.
He took the waffles back taste it and got back to us and said, SURPRIS, it's not salty, but we will give you small complementary waffle, and left.
Again in a professional customer service world, even if you offer something you ask your customers what do you like.
So we got the complementary portion which it was 3 small waffles still it was salty, same dough as they guy emphasize that. Which we couldn't finish it, ate more than half just to get energy to go out.
Finally we ask for bill, and it arrived with full charge on the waffles that was salty and we didn't even finished them.
And now we had to argue with the server that we are long time customer, and we are coming from up north to have our breakfast in here, money is not the problem but this is not the way you guys treat customers.
At the end they drop the charges which we did appreciate that.
But the fact we had to prove that we are not lying over $10 waffle was so sad.
Our server was from France as he mentioned due to that he knows waffles.
I do respect all cultures, no offense, but here is not France, in North America customers comes first, and you should be careful with what you say, no matter where you come from, and what feeling you give to your customers, even if they are wrong.
At the end of the day, customers going to restaurants for the vibe, feeling, and experience not just from the food, from everything.

A lovely tiny crepe shop with super mini patio located near The Stanley Park. Before we start our 10 km bike tour park we wanted to fuel ourselves. We bump to this place. There were many types and sizes of waffles, with various toppings. We ended up trying the medium size, mixed berries with vanilla ice cream. The service was perfect and friendly. The waffles were heavenly! I don't how to describe it.definitely amazing. 100% recommended!

Got a mini waffle to go for $2.70+tax. We got the crispy white chocolate. Waffle was okay - really dense but also super sweet. Was kind of expecting more crunch to the waffle itself and was hoping it would be warm. A good snack to go that’s worth a shot but not necessarily a “must-have”

Loved the mini liege waffles, get a bunch of different flavours to try! They keep well, and have many flavour options. Would especially recommend the custard, apricot. Several are coated in a white chocolate based coating which were slightly overwhelming.

The berry mascarpone waffle was great - lightly sweet and topped with a healthy amount of mascarpone.

The liege au fromages was ok, was basically a less flavourful grilled cheese pressed in a waffle iron. Wasn’t anything crazy.

Must try their mocha and mini waffles. They have raised their prices but it's still a nice treat once in a while.

Good waffles however terrible customer service by the guy handling the door this afternoon. 1) he took forever taking my TO-GO order and 2) I had to go inside and grab the box of waffles off the counter myself because he took forever.

Friendly staff. Great location. Great service. Quick and delicious food. Great for a quick bite to eat or brunch with some friends for a price that doesn’t break the bank.

Would definitely be returning if I lived in Vancouver!:)
