Unbelievably good. Show up 10 or 15 minutes before opening if you want a table without being put on a wait list.

We love coming here every time we come to Fernie! The tacos are so flavourful! Great craft beer selection too!

A nice find in Fernie and a little different than some of the other establishments in the downtown. The tapas are a nice way to share some great food and the cocktails were great along with their great local craft beer selection. The staff of young women in the front of house and the bar were very efficient in keeping things moving but not in a way that we felt rushed. I will definitely return to this restaurant.

Came here after work with the company credit card. 7 of us order a ton of family taco platters and really enjoyed trying the different tacos. My surprise favourite was the Yam Taco! The Mezcal margaritas were really good too. Highly recommended for an awesome dinner in Fernie.

When in and around Fernie one cannot miss this restaurant for dinner.
One of the best Mexican you will find in Alberta and would go on a limb and say the best regional Mexican restaurant.
The menu is simply superb with such a wide variety of Mexican dishes. The only thing missing is a cactus number but who cares when there is so much to choose from.
Each and every dish is tongue tingling, finger lickingly delicious.
The drinks list is awesome with some local beers and an extensive Tequila list. Do try the tequilas from different families from Mexico.

Awesome spot. Great atmosphere on the lagoon and top notch food and drinks. Worth the hour wait to get a table.

The service was prompt and the food was delicious. In addition, the Margaritas were perfectly balanced, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Mushroom tacos and pork belly tacos were our favorites.

UPDATE: wow! The response from the restaurant says a lot about the ownership. They ignored my positive reviews on service, and focused on their entire response on my comment on space operation style. Then they tried to belittle this review by claiming I’m asking them to overwork their staff, and I should open my own store…very classy response! Let’s just ignore the fact that I’ve been here many times, and this particular time, drinks and food were a complete miss, ok…ok. Oh, and btw, we sat at the bar and didn’t wait, just watched everyone being turned away…not that your snide response needed clarification.

First off, full stars for service, and for overall reputation of this place. We’ve come here several times and enjoy the vibe and service.
My wife and I came today and sat at the bar due to an 1.5hr wait list. Inside was empty because I guess that’s how they operate due to lack of staff…but we saw 2 cooks in the kitchen pretty much just chillin. This seems very lazy for management to operate like this…feeling it’s ok to just have a 1.5hr wait list while only using half their restaurant.
Second, we ordered 2 mezcallitas. They were sweet with zero smoke taste…not the best.
3rd, we ordered the ceviche because it was recommended. For $17, we expected it to be better. It basically was soup with plantain chips in it getting soggy. The fish was limited, and hard to find. It was a complete miss for us.
We did expect much better then what we received on this visit!

Awesome staff we loved the drinks! Tacos were so delicious specially Baja and Drunken Beef ones. Kids loved the churro bites. Best Mexican in Fernie area.

Pork belly is amazing. Staff super friendly but it's hard to get a table during busy hours. Not surprising with such a great menu.

Came here with 2 friends during a ski trip to fernie. Highly recommend waiting no matter how long the wait time is. We were quoted 2 hours wait time but we got a text after 15 minutes.

I ordered the pisco sour as a nostalgic order from my visits to south America and was happy with that. A friend ordered the casear and enjoyed thst as well. The bbq flavour in the casear was a nice touch.

Since there was 3 of us the La Familia tacos was a perfect. We went with the achiote pork, pork belly, and drunken beef tacos. Pork belly was obviously the best, followed by a delicious drunken taco but was a bit simple. Good beef taste. And lastly I would say was the achiote pork which was good but dry. I also had the feature taco at the time which had brussel sprouts which was good but didn't wow me.

After the tacos we ordered patacones. This dish came with 6 chips covered in their Pico de Gallo. This dish was delicious and well loved by all 3 of us. Highly recommend, especially for the $9 price tag.

Food and drinks were good. Service was poor. Waited 45 minutes for part of our order to come out. One of our party was already done eating by the time the rest came out. The waitress hovered awkwardly by the table while giving us varying excuses, and a lot of attitude, for why it was taking so long. Several tables sat after us got their meals before we did and were gone before we’d even had a chance to finish eating. Disappointing to come back somewhere we remembered being so good, only to find the service to so terrible.

Nevados came highly recommended. They were very busy which may have influenced the food and service a bit, but not a bad experience overall. The servings are on the small side and you'll need to order more than you think. Definitely worth a night out.

Great spot, from what I gather generally a bit of a wait but well worth it. Cocktails are great, beer is a mix of local and the usual suspects. They also have a great selection of tequila.
Food is best when shared and I recommend getting a few between people to try a little bit of everything.

Amazing food! Don’t usually leave reviews but this place is worth it. Tacos are top notch! Recommend sharing the Familia tacos as you get 9 tacos (3 different kinds of your choice) delicious.

Such a great restaurant. Great vegetarian options; with SO much flavour. Normally veggie options can be so bland but that’s not the case here.
Service was friendly, cocktails were so delicious (try the coconut margarita!).
Prices were perfect for the sizes, it is not cheap but not expensive. A LOT of Food + drinks we paid around $100 for two people (vegetarian), which was absolutely worth it.
They don’t take reservations (this is great) which actually makes it possible to go last minute with some wait; so I really liked this. So many times spontaneous people miss out because restaurants are booked out; i hope this stays!
We went around 8PM and got on the waitlist, they texted us after an hour that our table was ready- great system especially since you can just walk around the town in the meantime.

By far the best restaurant we ate at in Fernie during our stay ️ can’t even wait to come back here.

Hands down the best restaurant and meal we had out for our week long trip!

From the fish tacos that were EXCEPTIONAL, to the flan and warm tequila for dessert the food was incredible.

The service was also great and as a whole Nevados vibe!

It's probably one of the better restaurants in Fernie. If you enjoy Latin cuisine you will enjoy the food it's well cooked and imaginative.

Have been eating Fernie for years but for whatever reason, hadn't tried Nevados until this evening. Very sad that I had missed out this long. The meal was EXCELLENT! Spectacular Cornbread starter, excellent guac (I'm fussy with guacamole) and the ribs were out of this world.

The Pineapple Express drink was a little sweet but still delish however the cucumber margarita was more my style!

We went right around peak dinner time (6pm) so was about a 45min wait but they text when table is ready so just had to kick it downtown for a bit.

Our entire fam was raving after the meal and that doesn't happen a lot! 100% will be back!

Best dining experience in Fernie. Very cool atmosphere and a fun menu that you will want to come back to try different items. The cocktails are tasty and the food is creative but well executed. Great for a date night! So nice to have this unique restaurant in Fernie.

FYI, be prepared to wait for anything from 45 mins to over 2hrs as they are a very small restaurant and everyone wants to go there.

Best advice, go before you want to eat and put your name down. Once you eat you’ll be glad you waited.

Also they don’t do takeout, dine in only.

This was a lovely experience. This was our second time trying to experience this restaurant. They have a great text system, that if you don’t have plans for the evening works well to go enjoy a beer down the street and wait for them to text that a table is available. We had the beergaritas with the tajin rim, went down easily, the house cerviche was tuna with plantain chips and was my fav of the evening. We all had yummy tacos, my fiancé got the crisped pork belly on lettuce…it had too much heat for my tolerance…but the flavours were on point if you can handle it. The end plate was the mussels…again delicious!

Friendly staff. Attentive and informative. Great tacos in a variety of flavors and proteins. Single serve drinks are great, the mojito jug I didn't think was worth it. It was too expensive, and overly sour. The citrus tasted artificial. I'd certainly come back for food, but I would not order the mojito jug. Desserts are divine.

I haven't been to a restaurant that has such amazing food, from start to finish. Five stars doesn't seem to be enough. We did wait 2 hours for our table, but we were able to wander around doing a bit of geocaching. The wait was worth it. I wish this restaurant was closer to home.

The food and staff are always amazing! You can always get your favorites (fish taco or beef arepa!) with a seasonal change in menu. It's great for date night or a night out with the girls. Lots of yummy drinks (coconut margaita)! Not too many options for young kids (unless they like flavor, not basic eaters.like mine). We love Nevados!

Amazing food and great staff, went there during the pandemic and was very clean and respectful of the 6ft rule. Can't wait to go there again.

Beautiful patio to relax on and enjoy excellent food. Wonderful, friendly service. A nut-free kitchen, so those with allergies can safely explore the tasty flavours. From small plates to dessert, everything we ordered was delicious. Would happily eat here again.

Nice place grood service and food was awesome.my olny issue was never got very much had a $41 dollar bill for 2 and was not even content. Had to go get eat at another place after and it don't take much to fill me up.like three pieces of pizza normaly

We came on a rather busy day. They took our name and phone number and texted us when our table was ready. That gave us some time to explore the downtown area. Each dish made its it's way to us in a timely manner at separate intervals. We never had a crowded table, and we were never wondering where our food was. The multiple servers who helped us were nice, and efficient. Although when asked for an option between two dishes, she answered "both are good. " I DO believe both are good, but it wasn't a helpful answer.

I like the logo. It was dark, but just enough so it felt intimate. Music is loud which provides a certain night life quality. The art and decor wasn't very reminiscent of Spanish food. Each dish was presented with care. I wish I had been sitting further in the back, as I saw into the open kitchen on my way to the bathroom. I like that the bathroom was private as opposed to a stall bathroom and had the same lighting as the rest of the restaurant.

Each dish delivered an immeasurable amount of flavour and excitement. Even the dishes that weren't my favorite (for example the Papas en Salsa Roja) satisfied my taste for adventure. There is a complexity to each dish, leaving me wondering "why was that so good. " Definitely an experience I am happy I had. My favorite dish of the night (and my girlfriend's favorite) was the Beef Arepa. The texture of the Arepa itself was fluffy, and crispy; almost flaky. I found the Papas en Salsa Roja to be a little too rich for my liking. It was also missing something I feel. Perhaps a bit of spice on the potatoes. But I haven't eaten a dish like that before, so maybe I'm the one who is wrong.

This is where it gets kinda hard. This is a tapas restaurant, so we ordered a number of small dishes ranging from $5 to $8. We ordered margaritas as well. When a restaurant advertises "Tapas and Tequila" you bet I'm gonna drink some tequila. 1.5 oz for 12 dollars. It tasted like a margarita. All in all me and my girlfriend left with full bellies, and full hearts. All at the cost of about $120

A the end of the day, what i was paying for was a really fun night of trying new things with my girlfriend in beautiful downtown fernie. I would definately suggest this experience to anyone who adores good food. I feel bad for the next restaurant inst at, because it sure won't live up to the quality that Nevados brought to me.

Tried to go to this restaurant but we were rudely turned away.

We waited 30 minutes recieved a text that our table was ready and had ten minutes. This is all the text said.it did not indicate a reply was requires.only to reply with 3 if we wanted to cancel.

We showed up within 8 minutes only to be told our table had been given to someone else because we did not respond to the text.very poor way to treat people.won't try again.

Bit tricky to get in. I’d recommend going sooner to get out on the wait list then go for drinks down the street. The food was super good, reasonably priced, good drinks. We had absolutely lovely service from the host as well as our server. Lovely ambiance on the patio. Would definitely recommend!

My wife is pregnant and after 2 hours waiting for our reservation, asked to the hostess about our booking. The response of the hostess was that “she “supposedly” had sent a message letting us know the table was available ” which of course, never happened, we never got any message, she made us wait two hours and she did not care after that. Not sure what these people have in mind but nothing related to common sense, less consideration for a woman which is expecting a baby. First time in our life we have this terrible experience. Reading previous reviews we noticed is not the first time this place have this type of problems. We would never try again.

Food was good, service was friendly. Portions were what we expected for a Tapas spot. I recommend the Pork Belly Bites and the Tamarind ribs. Tacos were all great too. I'm going to come back without a car to drive, at least 2 more people, and a mindset to spend some money on their awesome liquor menu.

Now, say it with me, Nevados: "A-RAY-PA". My Venezuelan gf ordered an Arepa and the server "corrected" her pronunciation! We thought that was funny.

The absolute very best Mexican ever! Food was fresh and tasted amazing. Service was great.

I have probably eaten here 50 times by now, and I am never disappointed! The service is friendly, the food is DELICIOUS! A must visit when coming to Fernie for sure. Did I mention the dessert menu?

Very disappointed by the hostess, she was very rude! Asked to sit just for a drink, she says we are full, nobody seated inside, two people at the bar, and 3 tables empty outside. Asked to sit at the bar, her only response, we're full, that is all that she would say, not please give us a few minutes. Her tone for a hostess, the front of the restaurant, was utterly unacceptable. We will not come back to even try the the food

What an amazing place to find in Fernie. Not to say Fernie shouldn't have a place like this, but one might expect this place better suited to a larger centre. Regardless, get here early. We arrived at 5 when they opened and there was a line and wait the entire time we were here. This awesome dining experience took us about an hour and a half. Some guests were in and out more quickly. Service is welcoming and our server was attentive - especially to our liquid needs. The tapas were incredible - flavours, textures and colours. Adobo ribs, Argentinian skewers, nachos were our choices but watching the tacos and other tapas come out.well, we just couldn't eat anymore! Tequila selection is unrivaled - 54 to choose from. Classic Marg and Una Mas Marg are deliciously refreshing. Great tap selection and some Mexican faves as well. Don't miss this place if you are planning to stay in Fernie!

The dishes were out of this world. Our server was incredible. The atmosphere is bomb. Show up early and stay as long as you want. I would recommend the jug of margarita! Had me jonsing for some when I got back home.

Had the Pulled Pork, Drunken Beef and the Jackfruit Tacos, all amazing as were the cocktails. Next visit can’t come soon enough.

It was my first time coming here and I had an amazing experience! Our server Julia was amazing and personable. All of the other staff was friendly and made my boyfriend and I feel so welcome. Highly recommend the ribs! Thank you so much for the great experience Nevados! We will definitely be coming back.

5/5 for the food! The pork belly tacos are a must try. Some of the best tacos I have ever had.
They don't take reservations so it's a hit or miss if you will get a table. We lucked out on our first night by getting a table as soon as we walked in when someone was leaving; However, we went back the second night as the food was that good, and had to put our names on a wait list, and was told it would be about an hour wait. After and hour and a half we went back to see where we were on the line and to our surprise they said maybe another half an hour. They seem to priorities people that just wait by the front entrance instead of following the sign in list. We were very disappointed that that's how they are doing business and went to eat somewhere else.
So on one hand it worked great for us the first night that they just seat people as they walk in and not by the list but, on the other hand its unfortunate for the people that believe they will be honest and message you when your name is next.

I love this place. Their margaritas are great; I especially like the habanero cucumber. Every time I’m in Fernie I make it a point to visit. In my last visit I tried the tortilla soup and I liked it. The tamarind ribs are a must.
