My experience with Abby and Sommer was fantastic. I felt well cared for throughout my pregnancy, labour and in those precious first few weeks with our newborn. Our questions were answered, they listened to our wishes and I never felt rushed in any of my appointments. I'm beyond grateful for the support they gave us!

I can't measure through words all the good and positive experience I received from this team of midwives! Hands down to Abby and Sommer for the great care they provided during my pregnancy - pre and postpartum. All appointments were not rushed even though I was late sometimes. They'd make sure to ask me not only about my and my baby's physical health but also my mental/emotional state. They will ask and listen.

Already recommending them to one of my closest friends who's on her 3rd trimester. Hope there's a slot.

They are also pretty busy so hopefully my friend can get a slot.

And oh yeah, generally, midwifery services depend on their availability based on your due dates - so do not fret if they cannot register / assist you when you inquire.

I really highly recommend to get midwifery services - it is free. Part of our MSP.

Abby and Sommer provided us with high quality, professional and personable care. They were non-judgemental, used inclusive language and were empathetic. They are extremely knowledgeable and it was great to have a midwife advocating for our care at the hospital.

Amazing midwives, so caring and involved it was lovely to work with their team knowing who was going to be at the birth and that they will give you great aftercare

I loved being in the care of Sommer and Abby during my pregnancy. Both of them were always very respectful, caring and supportive of all of our decisions. My husband and I had many questions and we always felt comfortable asking them whether by email or in person. They are very responsive to emails!

My first time meeting Sommer I felt very seen and like I could trust her. She looked directly into my eyes and it just created a sense of trust and safety. Sommer attended our birth and she was AMAZING! Things moved very quickly and she took great care of me while my husband had to register me. Abby provided most of our postpartum care and she provided great resources to help me make informed decisions for my baby.

I would highly recommend reaching out to these midwives so you can have a stellar birth experience.

I wanted a natural, unmedicated birth and I wanted to deliver my baby with someone I could trust, someone who knows me and my husband, and who would respect my wishes with regard to childbirth. I am very happy I met Sommer and Abby! They are very caring, attentive, compassionate, and very professional. We never felt rushed during our appointments, they took their time to answer all our questions (even the silly ones), they shared a lot of knowledge about childbirth, their website has tons of very interesting and useful resourses, and they were always very patient. Sommer helped us deliver our baby girl, and she was wonderful throughout the whole process! She was on the phone with us since my water broke at home, and she was with us at the hospital every minute after we'd arrived and until our baby girl was born! I felt very supported every step of the way! Abby visited us the next day at the hospital to check on us, and even though we had our baby during quarantine, she was still able to come for one home visit to help us with breastfeeding, and do a couple more checks on our girl. Postpartum care was very good too! Because of Covid, we had phone calls instead of home visits, but Sommer and Abby were amazing even during those challenging times, they made sure we and our baby were doing well, and were very patient with hundreds of questions we had about caring for the newborn! I don't know how we would have done it without them, they provide incredible care, and they are doing a fantastic job! I miss seeing them!

At first my husband and I are not sure about working with a midwife since all my friends worked with a doctor when they were pregnant. Since we didn't have a family doctor back then, so we decided to give it a try. After the first consultation with Abby, I was pretty sure I would like to have midwife care during my pregnancy and delivery. Abby and Sommer are very professional and trust worthy. Unlike going to hospital/maternity clinic where you always need to wait for a long time and then just 5 min with doctor (and they don't really tell you anything but the result of your tests.), each appointment is about 30min and you learned a lot from them and know what to expect during the whole pregnancy. Postpartum care was awesome, they did home visits when you don't really want to move while trying to recover from tear. I feel so lucky to be able to be one of their clients since it was pretty packed everywhere when I was looking for a midwife. Such a wonderful experience that I totally recommend their service to every pregnant lady!

I had the best experience with Abby as my midwife throughout my second pregnancy. I can't recommend them enough and would not hesitate to return as a client in the future. Appointments never felt rushed and I was given assurance each time I had concerns. I had a different midwife at another clinic for my first pregnancy and I can confidently say that my experience here was miles better than the first.

The midwives at NWCM cared for me and my first baby, from 6 weeks pregnant until he was born June 2019. My experience with them was absolutely amazing. Abby was an incredible support to me throughout my pregnancy and home birth. She was my lighthouse. I felt safe, empowered, educated, and that they truly cared about me and my family from my first meeting with Brittany through to my last postpartum appointment. The grace, patience, ease, and reassurance Abby displayed through my labor helped to create a calmness around me that felt truly special. Due in part to their wonderful support I was able to deliver my 9+ lb baby at home, unmedicated, and never once doubted if I could do it. I cannot thank NWCM enough; they will always be a part of our family.

I first filled out their contact us email, says response would take 1-2 business days. It has been 4 weeks and have heard nothing from that. I called their number and it says if you want to become a patient, to fill out the patient intake form online, and you would be contacted within 1 week with a appointment booked if they want to take you on. I was informed that they are behind on emails, and I would get a response 1.5 weeks later. It has been 3 weeks since I filled out the intake form and still NO RESPONSE. If they didn't want to take me on as a patient, they could quickly say that, rather than have a pregnant lady stress out. Absurd.

I can’t even express how grateful I am for New West Community Midwives. I had a very difficult pregnancy with a lot of complications. Abby gave me the support and confidence I needed the entire time. She is incredibly knowledgeable, always took the time to explain everything to me and referred me to the proper specialists when needed. She’s very professional, but also compassionate. When my water broke 4 days before my scheduled c-section, she was calm, cool and collected, and gently guided me through the entire experience, staying by my side throughout the entire surgery. She was just as professional and wonderful caring for our newborn son after he was born. I was sad when we had our final appointment with her as I knew I would miss her very much. In my opinion, she is truly doing the job she was put on this earth to do. I can’t imagine having gone through that experience without her and so grateful she was part of bringing my heathy, happy baby boy into the world.
