NEW YORK BARBER SHOP

I received a recommendation to see Moh here at New York Barbershop and have scheduled three appointments with him. Each time I show up Moh is not there and another barber is the one to cut my hair.
The haircuts have been decent but I'm paying a premium cost for a haircut I'd like to establish a relationship with my barber. I'm not going to be going back as I can pay less for walk-in service at any number of different shops.

Although I do love how they cut hair, my question is why… do they ask you to book an appointment if they are going to help you 40min later. 3 times I’ve been there with Noah and 3 times he has been late. Today I waited 40min for my appt. I won’t be coming back my time is worth more than me booking an apt at 5 and it’s 5: 40 and I haven’t been helped.

My husband went in and specifically asked for a trim. The barber proceeded to buzz his hair off to extremely short after specifying he just wanted his hair trimmed. He was then charged $42.00 as the barber said he did a full hair cut. When stated that my husband had simply asked for a trim and this is not at all what he wanted as he stated when he heard the buzzer start but it was too late. When I called to inquire as to a refund as this is not at all what he wanted or what he asked for they bluntly proceeded to pretend to “ not understand English” only responding with “ yeah, ok, ok” an absolute rip off and downright terrible customer service. Will be calling tomorrow to ask for the owner. Do not go to this salon. Rip off and they buzz hair instead of using scissors.

I had a highly disappointing and unsanitary experience at New York Barber Shop when I brought my son for a haircut. The visit was plagued with issues, and the lack of hygiene practices was deeply concerning.

Despite booking an appointment with Ali, there was no acknowledgement of our scheduled time upon arrival. We had to endure a 10-minute delay just to address the oversight. The waiting time extended to an additional 15 minutes, making the overall experience frustrating and disorganized.

To make matters worse, the hygiene practices at the barber shop were appalling. The barber, Ali, used the same scissors and cover that had been used on the previous customer without any effort to clean or sanitize them. This complete disregard for basic hygiene and customer safety is unacceptable, especially when providing services for children.

Not only was the lack of cleanliness a major concern, but the service itself was rushed and lacked attention to detail. The haircut provided to my son was hastily done, and there was no proper clean-up afterward. The price charged for this subpar and unsanitary service, $40 plus tip, was unjustifiable.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend New York Barber Shop, especially for children. The disorganized appointment process, unsanitary conditions, rushed service, and excessive pricing make it an establishment to avoid. Parents deserve a clean and quality experience when taking their children for haircuts, and unfortunately, New York Barber Shop failed to meet these basic expectations.

Terrible customer service. If you make an apt don’t expect them to respect your time.

They are expensive and rude and don’t listen to what you ask for.

With all the other great options for barbers in the area why would you bother with these guys.

Rudy always pays attention to what he's doing, and takes great care to make sure you look great, and are satisfied with the results. That's why I keep going back to him.

What a Rip-off for a simple haircut! Should set a price for a simple cut without the extra stuff they put on you.

I would give Zero stars as they couldn't show up for work on time. I waited in rain for 20 minutes and ended up walking over to Man up Grooming. Who were completely professional, and at work on time. Loved the website though.

Try to go after work as it states open till 7 closed before 7 their stated time for operations hours online.

The haircut was good. But as others have already pointed out - booking an appointment doesn't really mean anything, the barbers will turn up whenever they feel like it (if at all).
Also a bit weird that its cash only.

I've been going to this barbershop for almost a year now. Every time I get a different barber here they never disappoint. The have candy for everyone, which is especially good for the kids. Everyone is friendly. The service here is extremely quick. Will continue to be a loyal customer to New York Barbershop

I moved into the area over two months ago and walked in without an appointment. Naoh was my barber and did an amazing job! The fade was tight and he trimmed my beard perfectly, just the way I wanted it. This is my second visit and Naoh did my hair and beard again, I definitely recommend this establishment and especially Naoh!

Hello, I think it is one of the best salons, they work very patiently and carefully, I really recommend this place to everyone.

Awful place. First of all, I never get the person I choose online when I make a reservation. Oh and it looks like they now charge $45 for haircut, up from $35 in like 6 months! One of those places which uses worldwide inflation to hike their prices. Oh and guess what.they only accept cash now, and they direct you to the ATM machine right beside their cash register when you tell them you want to pay with credit card. Back to 90s I guess? So yeah, I paid a lot of money for their bad service, plus $2 ATM fee. Do not go to this place, do not waste your money!

I just wanted a simple number 2 razor cut all over. Should have taken 20 mins. So much time wasted on no frill pampering. Was there for 45 mins and was charged 40$ I still tipped 10$ as I can’t not tip, but what an absolute ripoff. The cut is uneven as well. And to top it off they don’t accept debit, so I’m forced to pull money out of the money pit ATM there at a cost of another 2$!

Great group of gents at New York Barbershop! The service is fantastic and everyone has a fun, upbeat, positive attitude. Moe is awesome and MJ is the best barber I’ve ever had in my life. He’s been cutting my hair for over a year now and I don’t have the easiest cut (zero faded up around sides and back, scissor trim on the crown). MJ is lightning fast, he delivers the exact same cut every time, and he’s always smiling. Quality, value, consistency, and experience are all top notch.
