New York Fries Metrotown

I was very disappointed with my visit to New York Fries today. I ordered a poutine, expecting to get the classic combination of fries, cheese curds, and gravy. Instead, I got fries with barely any cheese and little gravy. When I showed the staff my poutine, they showed me a small ice cream scooper that they used to measure cheese. She said it would be an additional $1.75 for more cheese but it didn't seem right since mine didn't have much to begin with.
I didn’t finish my fries because it was tasteless with no cheese or gravy at the bottom. This was a waste of money and poor customer service. I will not be coming back to New York Fries anytime soon.

I've been a New York Fries friend since they opened in the 80s and 'm happy that they still have the same delicious flavour at a reasonable price. The staff at the 7 Oaks mall location were terrific: patient and pleasant. Needless to say I will be back again.

Every time we visit metro and eat at New York Fries, the lady Ayisha (Don’t know how to spell her name). Always friendly and polite.

No problems with the staff, they're nice. But I really didn't like the hotdogs I ordered. They were so bland and tastless, even with the toppings. First time trying something for New york fries. Pretty disappointed. Oh well.

I came here today for my lunch as it was my first time and I just want to say thank you to the employees as I was in rush and didn’t get the chance to but they were really fast and nice and the supervisor had really good customer service!

Fries were burnt and they cost 7$ atleast they should serve it cooked but not burnt. I gave them a second try and really disappointed

Terrible service! Served me meat when I asked for veggie fries! And blamed me instead. Will be reporting to the health services.

Ordered poutine with pulled pork. It was good, until I discovered that the gravy and cheese curds were only on the top, and I had to eat most of the fries without any gravy and cheese. When I asked if I can get more, the workers there said I have to pay for that. Never going to eat there again.

Average taste and average service
It's the weekend, so the food court is full of people.

Whenever I visit metropolis, I order from NY fries. The portion size is good, and the flavors were very nice.

Edit August 15th: Has been a return customer for the past 2 years. But each time I give the food a chance, it's still always disappointing now.

The sauce or ingredients level on the fries has gone down.it's just more like plain fries after two bites (ordering large the works usually). There aren't enough things on the fries. It's now always bland and flavorless.

An excellent establishment that makes delicious, mouth-watering fries. The fries are better than most other fast food places, except McDonald's. The service is nice and friendly as well. Even amidst long lines and a lot of people, these servers still keep an optimistic attitude towards customer service. The atmosphere is also cooperative. Had these fries for lunch, and will probably return to get more of those delicious fries.

This is supposed to be the best fry place around? It's absolutely disappointing. I order the flaming bacon fries. They were not spicy, the banana peppers seemed old, there was so little bacon I could barely taste it, the staff didn't layer it at all so I had a box of fries with a small amount of toppings that were gone before I was half way through. This is sad. Will never eat at a New York Fries again.

Metrotown metropolis food court. I seldom go to this food court cause it’s crowded. I like poutine so NY fries is my choice at the food court. Once I talked to American couple from Michigan, they said that they really wanted to try Poutine, “Why” I asked, cause poutine is very popular in Canada, but there is no poutine in their city of Michigan. I couldn’t believe it. We can eat
this famous? Poutine at NY fries at anytime wooow so easy and good, I guess even at other fast food place, we can eat poutine, I was in Montreal a couple of times, there are many poutine restaurants, yeah origin, must be-. Anyways, American people come here~ you can taste it at NYF. Often you need extra cheese)

Someone decided to mess up the butter chicken with literally no salt and no taste. Wasted the money here. Fries are very inconsistent had high expectations after having tried their butter chicken fried on Toronto. A total disappointment. Atleast taste the food before you keep it to pour.

Still some of the best fries in the city, and I say this as a harsh fry critic. The staff was also really friendly and patient as we changed our order 3 times.

The guy who served us was very polite and very nice to my boyfriend and I. He helped my boyfriend with something he had problems with and he was happy to help. He had such a positive attitude!

Good food, but very bad service. The cashier lady had very bad attitude, seemed like she was really bothered by simple orders.

Great fries.not the friendliest staff, don't smile, asked for California seasoning, staff just starred at me with a grumpy face, like i was bothering her and put the packet on the counter without even saying anything.

If a girl eats it, a snack is enough

It has been a while sincd ive gone to nee york fries and i have forgotten did it taste like. So im finally back to give a review which i didnt back then. The poutine and the nacho fries were okay. I guess i wanted to try the fried next time. Cheers!

WATCH OUT for this cheating from NYF in Metro town food court.
My cousin used her gift card to pay for her small order which she still has $7.09 remain balance in her card (she checked from online balance before ordering). Then, she came to Metrotown food court using this gift card to pay her order but someone there, like a manager who was in charge at that time. Saying that her balance was only $1.06 after 2 times scanned. My friend replied to a cashier that her remain balance in card still $7.09 a cashier still asking for a difference. =>> a long line up, so my friend gave up to talk back to a cashier and ending up to pay again for her order.a ripped off amount was small but imagination they attempt to apply to every customers who use gift cards, dear everyone! They schemed by scanning customers gift cards twice times!
So, this message is to red alert for customers who use gift cards to pay for their order! Please check your balance before paying your orders.

Poor customer service. The lady was so rude everytime. She always throw the order. Wanna give 0 star.

I got a works and asked sub cheese for gravy. When I opened the box I saw none at all, I moved around the fries to see if it w was at the bottom and still none. Fries at the bottom were completely dry. I left the box opened and came to the counter to show her inside the box and I said sorry was there gravy in this and said she yup I put gravy in there.

Worst customer service ever. The girl at cash counter talking slow at mall atmosphere and shouting at 2nd time when she is repeating the same making people feel like they are not listening. Happened on Nov/20/2022 at 6: 30PM. I request store location manager to ask her to talk loud or not to shout on customers.
