Nicely balanced sandwich - enough meat, enough banh, enough spice. And whaddaya know, lunch for two under $20!

I ordered BBQ Pork on Vermicelli with Spring Rolls and it’s really good! They have lots of choices for Banh Mi too so I would try that next time. I also liked the Jasmine Green Milk Tea. It’s mild and not too sweet. The restaurant ambiance is so calming and staff is really nice too [thanks for asking if I like my milk tea with cheese foam or not!:) ]

Always going to be one of my go to places to getting good banh mi sandwiches in Vancouver. I’d recommend the cold cut banh mi with moderate spicyness, it’s delicious. Also the tropical mango drink with pearls is a good drink to have on the side.

The drinks are really good and their standard sweetness level is very good (not too sweet). Service is always quick and i've never waited longer than 10mins even when its busy.prices are super reasonable too! Def a neighbourhood fav

Exceptional food and good portion, we had the subs and the coffees which are phenomenal, however the receptionist was something else. We came around 7: 00pm on Friday 18 and the receptionist was so rude for no reason, it baffled us. She dropped the dish without saying anything and was giving us attitude. The vibe probly dropped just because of her. Not knowing her name but she wears glass.

Heard a lot of positive reviews about Ngon so decided to check it out. Ordered the Braised Chicken Banh Mi and my friend ordered the Grilled Beef Banh Mi. My Banh Mi was flavourful and all the ingredients went really well with each other. I wish they had put more sauce in my Banh Mi. I also personally didn’t like the bread as much and thought it was too crispy and prefer O Banh Mi’s bread more. If you’re in the area, make sure to check out both the Banh Mi shops as they have similar menus and prices. I will definitely be coming back to try their Ngon Special Banh Mi.

Simple place for banh mi and Vietnamese drinks/dessert. I had the Veggie Banh Mi and the Duri Duri Coconut Dessert. Mixed feelings about the banh mi - the thing that I think was supposed to be a breaded cutlet of vegan meat was super dry and flavourless. It was like a piece of stale bread. But everything else about the sandwich was good. The vegan pate was really delicious and I also liked the thinly folded egg. Good bread to filling ratio. It's a sandwich I would order again even though I didn't like the main protein because all the other good stuff going on made up for it. The dessert was awesome - must try the Duri Duri if you like durian, or try any if you like coconut - every form of coconut is contained in these desserts. The durian version contained lots of big pieces of fresh durian. I love the combination of durian and coconut! Good value for both the banh mi and dessert. Total was about $16 after tax.
The one person working was really nice. They were able to make the coconut dessert in the cup that I brought and then offered to clean it for me after I was finished which was so nice! Although it looks like they mostly do takeout, the front of the shop is clean and neat with a few tables, so it's not a bad place to hang out and enjoy your food. The washroom, which is located in the back past the food prep area, is not so clean though. Lots of tiny bugs. I would plan to avoid the washroom if possible.

I visited Ngon shop and tried the special banh mi here. The quality and taste of this dish is great. The bread here is big and crispy on the outside, soft and delicious inside. The filling is full with delicious meats such as shumai, pate, grilled meat and cucumber. Besides, the juice at Ngon restaurant is also very delicious, fresh and made from fresh fruits. The prices here are also very reasonable, suitable for all types of customers

One of my favourite places in the city for banh mi. I wouldn't say it's "authentic", but still very delicious! The banh mis are always nicely filled from first to last bite. Also really like their drinks as well!

Ordered their ''Ngon special, meat lover & braised chicken", super delicious just like their name "Ngon" which means delicious! The bread is very fresh and crispy and all the ingredients inside is very fresh and tasty as well. Very nice and polite staffs. A lot of flavours to choose from. Their drink selections is very good as well. Highly recommend if you haven't try their banh mi. I have been looking for a good bang mi for the longest time. I think i have finally found it.this is definitely the best I have ever had. Very satisfied.

I was scared to order again because the last time I did the baguette was so hard it ruined my whole experience it was dry and crumbling all over the place. Today I decided to give it another try because I saw that they had new baguettes and it is SO much better! I'm not fighting my food anymore haha, overall the banh mi was really great (took the bbq pork one). Will def order again there now that I know! Also had the Earl Grey Milk Tea and it was very good as well and not too sweet.

Disappointed, used to come quite often. Ordered for the first time in a while and found they changed their bread. It ruined the sandwich.

Food and beverages here are always good. However, not so much of a great customer service experience. The cashier lady did not mention what things they were out of when I ordered a drink. When I got my order, it did not come with the fruit bits like usual. I asked her if they're out of it and she just casually said, "Yeah we are out of the strawberry bits. " Which was not mentioned when I ordered. Also the pearls were horribly hard.

This place probably has the best banh mi in Vancouver. It’s hai phong style and the pate tastes excellent. The sticky rice is good too. Nice staff and clean looking place.

I used to come here for their banh mi every week. Their banh mis were delicious and value was excellent, and drinks were really good too.

Recently I discovered that they changed their baguettes. The previous baguette they used had a crispy, airy texture that was really satisfying to bite into - as a banh mi should be - and paired perfectly with the ingredients. However, the new baguette is really disappointing. It’s soft, like regular white bread, lacking in that crunch. It’s resulted in the quality of their banh mi deteriorating significantly.to a point where I’ve just stopped going, it’s just not good anymore.

Really wish they’d bring back their old bread!

I used to really like the banh mi's here but after my visit today, it's not the same.

Ordered both the Special and Chicken one, but both were so disappointing.
Chicken was too salty and lacked flavor.
Special was not like before at all, didn't enjoy it. They added some other stuff in it that made it really soggy and I couldn't tell what it was.
Overall I'm sad that I won't be as regular as before.

If you don't feel like to work, take a day off or have some private problems then keep it yourself
This person just give me punch of fat and what if i do that to u, what do u think? Pay to eat fat? If u don't like work in restaurants or serving customers, go somewhere else. Because This will affect the restaurants and the owners

This used to be my fav spot but now they've started skimping on the meat in the banh mi, especially the beef. Also never order ahead of time. I placed an order on their website for pickup at a later time but they prepared it when the order was placed. The bread was stale and the ice in my drink was almost completely melted when I picked it up. Sad to see this place go downhill. I'll be going to Obanhmi down the block more often.

Always feel welcomed when visit here. Love their grill beef banh mi and the fruit utopia drink is the magic drink! Great customer service!

This is my go-to place for Vietnamese banhmi and sticky rice in East van. Also try their kumquat honey tea! Staffs are friendly and helpful.

This is by far, hands down, best banh mi! House special is the signature. The other one, meat lovers, a bit dry last time.
Mild spicy is enough kick.

4-layer coffee is a must-order too.

Great presentation and flavor. Love the crackling sound when I bit at the sandwich. They have variety of options for topping which makes it more flexible to find your favorite comp. I always go for beef sandwich and honey passiom kumquat drink and they nail it everytime. Might try others later!

Love love love this store. I usually order Ngon banh mi and either milk tea or the ngon dessert drink (w coconut) here. It is very flavorful and the price is decent as it can make your belly full just after a banh mi. Highly recommend you to try. ️

Great banh mi (my fav is beef sandwich). Their desserts are really good too. Also like their sides menu

I believe competition is SO strong between Obanhmi and Ngon. I used to walk past by and compare prices between the two. Besty said Ngon is better than Obanhmi so I had to try if her verdict was right.

I got #1 Ngon sandwich ($7.50) with Coco Coffee ($6.50) with 10% off via Yelp check in. 10% discount is also offered by online orders as well. Waiting time wasn’t long. I was quite shocked to see the size of my food. Banhmi subs were bigger than most places. Even bigger than Banhmi Saigon in my personal opinion. It was loaded with veggies and meat. Baguette was fresh and crispy. Because half- sized Banhmi was huge (4 inches long I guess) I only ate half of my sandwich.

Coco Coffee was pretty good. It was just as similar as Coconut Coffee from Cong Ca Phe in Vietnam. The drink itself also had a chocolatey flavour so it was like coconut mocha slush. I get so obsessed with Coconut Coffee after travelling Vietnam it was unforgettable. Coco Coffee is a must try! Besty also recommended Duri Duri which I don’t feel tempted to try. I’m sure others love it if they like durian.

I heard all subs are pretty good except for Veggie Banhmi. **Forgot to mention, homemade Mayo (in my Banhmi) was so creamy and tasty, too. ** I may become indecisive next time since there are 3 Vietnamese restaurants on this block including Cafe Xu He. Just that 2 places sell Banhmi and drinks. Service was great. I was able to get paper bag to take leftover sub.

Cool vibes and cordial staff. The chicken banh mi was decent but smaller than what I normally get at a slightly lower price at another Viet banh mi place in the area. The avocado smoothie tasted amazing and I liked that I could adjust the sweetness online. You get 10% off when you order online during happy hour (3-6 pm).

The meat lover at Ngon is super delicious and the avocado smoothie has the right amount of sweetness, which is very rare. I highly recommend both of them!

Ordered from here today. Soooooo good! I got the veggie sub and the chicken sub. The durian shake was delish! I got a bag of crushed ice too but I wasn’t sure what to do with it lol. I think it was supposed to go in the shake but I didn’t want to put it in lol. The salad roll tasted good but the peanut sauce was a bit too salty for me. I would definitely order from here again!

The owner you should watch your staff. They talk bad behind delivery driver, the staff girls don't know delivery driver understand Vietnamese.
2 star for unprofessional saff today. I would said, not many but mostly Vietnamese people they can't control what's is they talking, same as Chinese attitude. Or you will be out of delivery companies partner.

Saw this place while driving down Kingsway and decided to give it a try. We ordered the meat one and the veggie option. If you order online through their website you get 10% off! The food was okay, not the best banh mi I’ve had. They were fully customizable which was nice. The bread was a little too crunchy for my taste and it was crumbling all over the place. They also offered eggs and mayo which I’ve never had as an option for banh mi before so that was interesting. For the price of ~$7.80 I was hoping for more of a fresh bread though however it was not the worst.

I had loved them with full of meat and crunchy bread. But too disappointed tonight.

I bought 2 Grilled Beefs around 7p.m tonight. I ordered and then they asked if I could wait for them to prepare because they ran out of Grilled Beef. Of course I didn't mind. When I went home and tasted it, bread wasn't crunchy with a thin slice of chewy beef. I felt full when I ate 1 loaf of bread, but not tonight. I know that it wasn't the same chef. If you cannot serve the same thing, the same quality as you did, please tell the customers choose another things or you will lose them!

I discovered this place around the start of the pandemic, and loved it! However, sometime this year they changed the bread, can't pinpoint the difference but it was better before. Then more recently, they've significantly shrank the portion. I used to not be able to finish a whole banh mi in 1 sitting, but now I finish 1 and still could probably eat another half. Either they put less fillings or the whole sub got smaller. Now today, I had their grilled beef and the piece of beef was SO HARD that now I have a tooth ache! I can't believe a banh mi could cause tooth ache. So disappointed as this was my favourite banh mi shop!

So amazing! I have arrived to Ngon many times (once- twice a week) Because I really love and crave for their Grilled Beef banh mi. It’s so juicy and tasty, and I haven’t never gotten it in any places. I always couldn’t eat a hold banhmi, I was really full when I ate a half of them. And my best friends also love this place because of their Beef. So this is my favorite place in Vancouver

It happened many times that the restaurant gave wrong or missing item for Uber order. They did not give me my Sandwich when I just ordered 1 sandwich and 2 drinks, now I have nothing for my lunch… and the service is just helpless. Tried again and still disappointed! Never come back

Ordered from here the other day with my bf. They are very skimpy with ingredients for the price you pay. I recommend Ba Le or another viet sub place. I got the meat lovers sub and I'll show pics. It only had two very thin slices of ham. It wasn't even filling enough for one but costed nearly $9.00.

I got the Banh Mi when i missed it. Bread is soft and crunchy, meat was nice but less than i think. Anyway, i would come back when i miss Banh Mi again.

Ordered 5 banh mi - it's pretty good. My favorite was the grilled beef as it tasted a bit more like bulgogi beef. Loved how you can customize the banh mi online and you can get 10% off preordering online (not the best deal.but at least it is something. Some other stores have buy 5 get one free deal).

Disclaimer: my choices as a vegetarian are rather limited at this restaurant, so my review is not the most reliable. That aside, here's what I thought.

It was good! The one option I had for both banhmi and salad roll is just the vegetarian option. This place offers vegan meat in both of these items, which is not uncommon in general these days, but it's also not something that is available at all banhmi places, and definitely not a common feature in many Vietnamese restaurants. Ergo, this stood out to me. Both items were flavourful and customized to my liking (non spicy, no cilantro; I know I know, that is not the most traditional of choices). The bun itself wasn't the best I've ever had, but I didn't mind it too much. This place also offers a bunch of drinks and desserts on their menu. I've only tried one drink, which is their layered coffee drink and it was not great, but also not terrible (I'm sorry I can't stop using this Chernobyl reference). To be fair it was good Vietnamese coffee, but the extra "layers" did not make it anything special, it was just like any other Vietnamese coffee I've had at any other place. I'd be down to go back and try their other dessert/drink options though, as they had quite a few.

The tl;dr version of this is that I enjoyed the place, and wouldn't mind going back.

P. S. (an extra bit of detail)
Something worth mentioning is that this place is only a few shops down from another banhmi place, and that place you can accumulate points (like buy 10 get 1 free kinda thing, I forget the exact details), as well as get 15% off with online pickup orders. So while I do enjoy this place, I admittedly always get a second banhmi next door just for the sake of getting a better bang for my buck. That is not to take away from the quality of Ngon, because overall taste it is the better option in comparison.

I just looked online right now at Ngon's website and it appears they now also have a discount for online orders-10% off. Just an FYI for those thinking about trying the place out, might as well order ahead for that discount!

I had the veggie bahn mi, sakura blossom drink, rose garden drink and 4 layer coffee. The bahn mi is good but a little lacking. Should have added extra toppings. The drinks were good. My bf had the chicken bahn me and he liked it

Tried the veggie banh mi and the vegan salad roll and they were both so good! The banh mi was more flavourful than expected and the salad roll was rolled really well and just as tasty. I also got their milk tea w/ cheese foam and it’s the best cheese foam I’ve had so far:)

My first time here, their Ngon special is so yummy and flavourful. Defenetly, will come back to try other banh mi and drink.

I ordered the vegetarian sandwich and I very much enjoyed the filling inside the sandwich. However, I do like my bread crunchy and soft when you bite into it. The bread here is definately more on a cruncher side. Overall, it's pretty good.

READ OTHER REVIEWS, MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF FOOD POISONING in the past from this sandwich shop. I have just experienced food poisoning a day ago from posting this, clearly, they have NOT improved their food quality at all despite these reviews. This place fails food safety on the most basic level, extremely regret the fact that I ordered here.

Ordered two sandwiches from food delivery service. I got the cold cut, meat lover and the duri duri durian dessert. Both of the sandwiches tasted great and the bread was fresh. The dessert definitely tasted like durian, surprisingly the durian tasted fresh. There was a little more sugar in the dessert and then I would like, but I'm sure others wouldn't have any problems with it. Would definitely order from here again.

This restaurant doesn't even deserve 0 (zero) when it comes to delivery services. I work for food delivery and It happened to me twice where I had to wait for my order more than 20 minutes. The restaurant's receptionist was so rude and asked me to wait outside stating we are working on the order. Just one request to the owner of the restaurant, pls don't accept order from Skipthedishes or doordash if u can't make it on time. Because we don't get paid for waiting at your restaurant. Plz value the delivery driver time. We as delivery driver, gives you business and such kind of service is not expected from the restaurant.

Their Ngon special is the most oily thing that I have ever eaten in my entire life. The oil soaked the paper bag, and I was eating if just drips off from the sandwich. The oil slid from my hand to my arm and finally dripped onto the ground.
Besides that, they never follow instructions. I ordered 3 times from them. I said no ice no sugar, but when I got the drink, there was ice and sugar in it. Every time.

So tasty! I always get the Ngon Special Bahn mi because the flavours are amazing. And such great value!

My friends and I got six banh mi's and all felt sick with food poisoning symptoms within the next 12 hours. Judging from the previous reviews it seems that this isn't the first time this has occurred with this restaurant. Please be careful when ordering here!
