Located in an older styled plaza, which gave nostalgic 1980’s-1990’s vibes, the food stall is located on the upper floor in a small food court type area. The service was very good and waiting time was 10-15 mins as the dumplings are made fresh. We had the steamed vegan dumplings, which was ordinary and the seafood (scallop and fish) dumplings in spicy Szechuan sauce, which was amazing and I’d definitely have again. There were 6 dumplings per plate and for two people, I’d recommend 3 dishes (instead of 2). Overall, worth the visit and it was on the way to Stanley Park so really enjoyed it.

Don't let the older looking mall location scare you. VERY tasty dumplings and friendly staff. Tried the Pork & Kimchi Szechuan style and loved them!

I can't even express how good my 2 dishes tasted. I got the cilantro and pork dumplings. My 2 dish I forget what I got.it had large rice noodles, crunchy peanuts, cilantro Szechwan sauce I also think it was a vegan option.

The one thing I wish is that it was on a busy street, door front. This place is a must go eat at place. A little lost diamond that needs to be found. Once you know where it is its a must stop place when you go around that area or even to Vancouver. My friends found this place. We are huge foodies and try to find good discoveries.

9 dumplings should be a food chain and very well known. I'm obsessed! The flavors in my second dish was something unique.

Really tasty dumplings with a bunch of flavor. We tried the rainbow sampler plate and each dumpling had its own unique flavor and it was evident they use fresh fillings.

So delicious and amazing service. We ordered the sampler platter of dumplings and the Beijing ja jang noodles. They were both well seasoned, generous portions, and came quickly. The owner was so nice and played with our baby daughter too! Thank you!

We got here in the middle of the afternoon. Location isn't particularly great, your typical Asian hawker-style food court. It wasn't particularly busy, but owner was not friendly at all. He wouldn't even take time to explain which dishes are which. The food was OK, we got xiaolongbao and regular dumplings, mine had a hair in it (it happens). I don't really get why people rave about this place.

Beautiful. I went here on the way to Stanley Park and it was worth the minor diversion. The food was fairly fast in arriving (10 minutes) but I would’ve been happy to wait much longer.
I don’t even have the cooking vocabulary to do it justice! There was definitely liquorice in the sauce…next time I visit Vancouver I’ll be back.

There is lots of vegetarian options. The dumpling was probably the best I have ever tried, so flavourful and large.

Give this guy his own restaurant now! This man is so good at what he does. The moment he opens, he's busy AF, and yet, he takes orders, cooks, and runs food in the calmest manner ever. He's nice and helpful to customers, and most importantly, his food tastes absolutely amazing. We got the Szechwan Spicy Mala Boiing Fish and dumpling sampler. First of all, that fish, though! I think it's basa, and it's SO soft and flavorful. I can't really handle spice, but this is like the perfect amount of spicy despite the pot being filled completely with dried red peppers lol. All the dumplings were also really good (except the vegan one hahaha.sorry). I am so impressed that this is foodcourt food. Such a hidden gem.

A hidden gem inside the robson public market.discovered them accidentaly while waiting for our seat at the restaurant across the street.i tried the pork and cilantro and it was so delicious.will definitely go back when in the area to try the other items on the menu

My parents and I come to this place a few times a month. The dumplings are sooo good and they serve really good tea. Super authentic and delicious food.

Eating at this place feels like cheating.

I just love it. Quiet, cheap, tasty. Owners are an elderly couple, very kind.

It is on the second floor of a quiet mall, that has a lot of light and plants, I greatly enjoy it.

$11 rainbow soup dumpling (xiao long bao) sampler is usually what I grab, for a light fare.
As a downtown local that come to eat by himself, I tend to prefer this experience over Dinesty or Jingle Bao.

First up. This amazing little dumpling stand sits upstairs in a semi-deserted shopping mall, and while that doesn't seem very atmospheric, it is the perfect background for what had to be some of the best dumplings I've had in the northern hemisphere. Food is served to plastic food court tables outside the shop as light streams in through the skylights above a derelict looking concourse.
This little shop is about 2meters square and run by an old Chinese lady who creates and serves, you've guessed it, 9 different types of dumpling. Dumplings are dough-colour coded as to their contents leading to an intrigue game of guess the code system when eating the dumpling tasting plate.
Dumplings are available in normal or spicy sauce (not that spicy but delicious) that is packed with flavour and coats your mouth with flavours you don't want to lose. The dumplings are plump and succulent and packed with delicious ingredients ranging from pork and chive to squid and seafood.
I highly recommend this place. It is a dumpling experience reminiscent of china's new territories shopping malls, and to be honest, I'd say just as good as any dumpling I had in Hong Kong. Excellent!

Wow! So good, especially for just a little stand, one woman stand in the food court. Dumplings were amazing.

Horrible dumplings, spat it out. Not fresh at all, definitely frozen. The Dan Dan noodles also were lackluster, bland and just overpowered by too many numbing peppers. They weren't even ready during opening time and opened late while I waited. Many dishes not available, not prepared.

I heard from several sources that this was the best dumplings to get in the city. With the location of it in this ratty mall I believed it! Hole in the wall places with emphasis on taste and quality of food! I had the sampler that came with all the different kinds of dumplings they had. Loved the colourful bowl of dumplings! I would come here again the next time I get a dumpling craving.

Absolutely unreal dumplings. Couldn't even try some of the other amazing sounding dishes because they were sold out. This is the literal definition of a "hole in a wall" restaurant. Highly, highly recommend.

Outstanding dumplings. I tried the sampler and it's my most favorite dish I've had in eons. What an exceptional spot. I've enjoyed the airy food area upstairs at Robson Square for years, and this little restaurant is the gem of them all. Very highly recommended if you like good dumplings?

Definitely a hidden gem! I tried their dumpling sample plater with different color/ flavor of the dumpling. And found out that the purple dumpling is the taste that I had since childhood! It's Tianjin (a city in north side of China) style vege flavor. It taste a bit strong (which is authentic) and I'm so surprised they have it! I didn't had anything similar to it in Vancouver. Set up another order of the purple dumpling, and it made my day! The owner is friendly, talkative and care about the customers. I will definitely be back again.

Best dumplings I ve ever tasted! I had lamb, scallop&fish and vegan my favorite is lamb my friends favorite is squid pork. Customer service was amazing definetelly will come back ^^

The best dumplings I've had in a long time! I tried several varieties, my favourite is the Pork and Cabbage dumplings. Black wings were tasty too. Highly recommend this place! Great prices!

Located in an unassuming, some-what run down mini mall, this place is easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there.

But the dumplings? Absolutely delicious! Tried the pork & cilantro and pork & chive steamed dumplings. They were tender, flavourful, and juicy. So so good. If you love dumplings, this place is one you have to try!

I ordered vegan balls and vegetarian dumplings. Went at night on a Saturday. The deep friend balls were awesome but the dumplings were stale and felt lifeless. Not sure if it's my palate or just the time I went at. Would definitely try the the vegetarian dumplings here again.

Giving 5 stars for the pork dumplings and the spicy jelly noodle (凉粉) I ate. As a group we have the dumpling sampler and the mala fish dish. The fish dish (水煮鱼) was a big portion, definitely has to be shared. Taste was ok, I felt that the mala taste could have been stronger. It was pretty mild to me. Of the sampler set, the dumplings with pork (+ whatever) were the best. The rest (vegan, scallop etc) were not that amazing. But do get the pork and chives dumplings, it was amazing! I had steamed dumplings but I also ordered the spicy jelly noodle which came with mala so I could dip my dumplings in it. You can never go wrong with mala dumplings. My friend who tried the vegan dan dan noodles loved it. Must try dishes: the dan dan noodles, the jelly noodles and the pork dumplings.

Will definitely go back and have dumplings again!

The Vogue of dumplings!

The man who runs it deserves a few Michelin stars! He is very humble and extremely skilled in what he does. These dumplings look like they came straight out of a magazine, and taste like you’re in a top restaurant in Shanghai.

It’s truly a special place. Guests are always thrilled when I bring them here from out of town and I can’t recommend you try them enough!

My mouth was taken to places it had never been before. My taste buds came alive. They suddenly had thoughts. And feelings. They kept telling me to have more and more. And I did. Boy, did I ever have more.

I happened upon this place by accident as a friend exploring the city pulled us into the small mall here. Was very pleasantly surprised that this restaurant had many plant based options. The food was delicious, and each type of dumpling came with four options (i.e cooked in soup, or with chili oil). It was definitely the busiest restaurant in the food service area, and so the line moved a bit slow, but the food was made in decent time and the employee was friendly. I will definitely return for more noodles and dumplings soon.

I am elated to have found this place. This hidden gem located in the unassuming Robson Market serves up homemade, innovative dumplings at an amazing price! The quality and taste makes me feel so at home, and the fact that I can afford it as a university student makes it the perfect spot. I had the spicy sampler platter with all nine types of dumplings, and it’s such a cool experience trying each one with its unique colors and flavors! This place is the real deal.

On another note, the chef asked me which dumplings were my favorite after I thanked him. He cares about his craft, and these are the kinds of people that make the food world go round. Thanks for a wonderful meal!

I discovered this place quite by accident, roaming lower Robson looking for a new experience in eats. I didn't want sit-down, so this upstairs food court was perfect. My first meal of a 9-dumpling sampler was magnificent! Imagine a colour-coded array of uniquely flavoured handmade dumplings, each featuring various meat, fish and veg combos-nicely spiced and FRESH!
The owner, a tall smiling and gracious man, calls himself 'If' (yes, IF) and served my table personally. Even though they were busy, he checked in to ensure I was enjoying my meal. You don't often experience sit-down quality from a food court kiosk. No vax check required, but mask rules apply. I've since had my brother for lunch, where I ate the best chicken burger I've ever had. Just a remarkable place to enjoy a great meal - highly recommended!

What a gem. The pork and cilantro (and the vegan.who knew?) dumplings absolutely blew me away. I feel other dumplings will just never live up. May have to travel back to Vancouver just for this alone.

I had the pork and chive dumplings, dandan noodles, and these deep fried yam balls (I forgot what they're called). Everything was AMAZING and you can tell that all of the dishes are made freshly and with love. I would go back all the time if I lived closer.

Contrary to its name, you should definitely order more than Nine Dumplings at this hidden gem in Robson Public Market.

The Pork and Cilantro Dumplings with Butterfly Pea (猪肉香菜饺子) and Scallop and Fish Dumplings with Squid Ink (鱼肉带子饺子) were honestly some of the best and most creative dumplings I have ever had. The Vegan Szechwan Dan Dan Noodles with Veggies (担担面 (素) was also a showstopper.

The dumplings at Nine Dumplings are generously packed with fresh ingredients to offer quite the bite (or two). The cilantro was bright in flavour and the pork was ever so succulent. The fish was delicate and tender, and the scallops were plump and present in each dumpling. For a more fulsome experience, do try different cooking methods for your dumplings. I ordered mine boiled and Shanghai soup style, both of which come with black vinegar sauce and a pop.

Again, the dan dan noodles were delightful. Being a dish typically made with minced pork, I was surprised by how bold in flavour the vegan version was. The noodles were supple and coated in a spicy peanut butter sauce. Overall, it was a well balanced and executed dish.

Finally, I would recommend visiting the stall itself to not only meet the owners/chefs, but to also save yourself the UberEats premium (~30%). For example, the above dishes were $9.99, $10.99, and $15.99, but at the stall, they are $5.99, $6.99, and $11.99 (though the dumplings do not come with pop), respectively. Either way, I hope business flourishes at Nine Dumplings because it is a mom 'n' pop shop and easy to miss despite being on Robson Street. It truly deserves front and centre attention for the sheer quality of its food alone.

Although it is on Robson Street, it is tucked away on the second floor of the Robson Public Market. If you can make it this far, you are in for a treat. Very kind and humble owners. They make the most delicious dumplings you have ever sunk your teeth into. Make sure (I repeat, make sure) You try their lamb dumplings.

Absolutely stunning in the explosion of flavors!
