Ordered two chicken Chow Mein on the weekend and there was no chicken in either meal even though we paid extra for protein. The vegetables were basically raw and it sucked so bad for $40! The employees look uninterested in being there and couldn't care less. Avoid this place

The reviews of this location are sadly true. This location has no consistency in flavors or recipe. Each time I give them a other shot they either forget my protein or the food is completely tasteless. Last time I went back and they gave me extra sauce. I feel like this happens often. If you're craving NB hit up the westshore location it's always super good.

The customer service was outstanding – attentive, friendly staff who went above and beyond. The food was equally impressive, with a diverse menu. A definite must-try for those seeking a delightful combination of top-notch service and amazing food. Five stars without a doubt!

They serve numerous Asian dishes, but my favourite is the noodles. The prices are reasonable for a student, and the service personnel is friendly and courteous. I will return to this restaurant

This noodle box has gone downhill over the last 6 months, consistently producing terrible food.

I recently ordered two spicy peanut bowls pre-ordered with the app, both were inedible. We arrived 15 minutes early, and saw they had been sitting on the counter for who knows how long. When asked for a bag to put the orders in, the host simply rolled their eyes, and there was a lot of yelling back and forth with the front of house and back, very unprofessional.

But back to the noodles bowls… the noodle bowls were completely inedible, having been cooked to beyond overdone.the noodles were literally mushy, much like the rest of the bowl, one gelatinous mass with no flavour, no discernible sauce.

This place used to serve fantastic food once upon a time and it seemed like the staff really cared about what they were serving, and acted professionally. Not so much now.

I cannot recommend eating here, if you can avoid this location, please do.

The amount of actual noodles in the box has continued to decrease drastically.still tasty and good but more of veggiebox than noodlebox these days

Overall over priced menu, poor flavour and portioning. I ordered teriyaki sauce noodles and the teriyaki sauce is farrrr from what it should taste like. Way too much ginger and vinegar. NOT TERIYAKI.

More and more disappointing every time I visit!

They change certain aspects of menu items and do not note this on the menu (such as appetizer accompaniments). This causes major disappointment when you receive your food, and it’s completely different than what you thought you were ordering.

No consistency whatsoever when you order a dish. Especially when it comes to spice level. Order a mild/medium one day and it tastes like they added zero spice, order it the next day and it’s so spicy you can not eat your meal.

Noodle box as a whole has been majorly declining for many years and is no where nearly as good as it used to be!

This location caters to Door Dash and Skip the Dishes workers. Their orders are ready with no waits. Be prepared to wait an obscene amount of time if you are a regular customer that orders takeout. Really not worth the wait.

Priyanka is the embodiment of what Noodle Box needs. The food is fantastic, but sadly, customer service frequently falls short. Priyanka is warm, kind, friendly, engaging, welcoming – an absolute delight. Thank you so very much for the 5 star service!

Today was my first visit to Noodlebox uptown and definitely will not be the last. Food was amazing. I tried Thai style chowmein was really tasty. 5/5 for the food.

One of the worst things I have ever eaten. I got a chicken teriyaki box mild, and myself and both my parents were only able to take two bites before throwing the food away. I normally hate to waste food but I was gagging as I ate this stuff and would have thrown up if I continued eating. The chicken and veggies were as dry and tasteless as cardboard, and the sauce tasted like sour milk. Everything was clearly frozen to the point of severe freezer burn to obtain this texture. I wouldn’t be shocked if the sauce had been sitting there for 5 years. The staff were kind but the food was atrocious, they clearly have no standards at all here.

Extremely gross. Ordered the teriyaki with chicken and it smelled like something had gone bad.
Oh yeah, and the dyson hand dryer in the washroom has MOLD ALL OVER THE BOTTOM OF IT. Absolutely disgusting.

I've never seen a worse restaurant. Worst management, particularly the female manager. They were extremely rude, and the plating was terrible.

This spotnis the best. Just you will have to wait to experience the great food they offer. Always 1 of my spots to eat a quick box of noodles!

Noodlebox doesn’t have quite as much flavour as it used to, still good, but not as good as it used to be. Sometimes they give you enough vegetables, sometimes they barely give you any, also what happened to the crispy bits that used to be on top of the boxes? We’ve been coming here for so many years and it used to be better.

My gf and I just ate here and our food tasted burnt like a Barbaque with black burnt charcoal bits throughout our food.
My ginger beef bowl was dry, over cooked, hardly no sauce.
Please clean the Woks etc.
Not eating here again.

By far the best location, food is always made to order. I drive from Westshore to this location because it never disappoints. Staff is friendly.

Food is actually atrocious.every single time all my vegetables are undercooked and the noodles are dry.it’s unsettling how badly they mess up something so simple as spicy penut noodles.

Noodles undercooked, no lime with dish way to soupy like. Seems like the cooks dont know what they're doing.

Very let down. I had high hopes as I've heard many great reviews of noodlebox from friends, however I was very disappointed. I had the peanut satay dish. It was extremely bland and lacking flavor. It tasted like they added a couple scoops of peanut butter and some water and decided that was a sauce. I tried saving it with some salt and soy sauce but it was just bad. The broccoli. Oh my God the broccoli. You can see in the picture I posted, the quality of the broccoli. Who eats broccoli stalks? ! Gross. Not sure they know this, but the stalk of the broccoli should be thrown in the compost bin, not in my noodlebox. I won't be back, and I won't be recommending. There are so many better choices out there for Asian noodles.
The price was a bit out of control too. Left me feeling hungry, dissatisfied and ripped off.

Ordered pad thai with chicken…. No chicken. Like none. $15 for rice noodles with some peanuts and a couple pieces of broccoli.

I asked for my meal to be made as gluten friendly as possible as I am celiac but it seemed to annoy the front of house staff that was very rude to me as I tried to adjust my meal to be gluten free. Before I even got my food I heard her talking about me to the kitchen staff and making fun of me. Once I got my food it was fine, the veggies were under cooked but there were was a mixture of ribbon noodles and rice which I can’t have. I didn’t think much of it so I stopped eating so I don’t get sick. I really wish people would take celiac disease a little more seriously because it might be a little bit inconvenient for the kitchen staff but I’m the one who has to deal with the nausea and pain afterwords.

Such a bad experience at this store with the owners named Abhishek Sharma and Jasleen as they treated their customers very rude. I won’t suggest anybody to go there to eat and work

DISAPPOINTING

They make food here like they hate making food. Had the Pad Thai and they made it tangy with no peanut flavour at all and no spice, the noodles in all the boxes were overcooked and sticked together like glue. Totally inedible.

I got the Kung Pao Chicken for take away at dinner time and found the portion to be a decent size, the food was hot and the medium hotness was spiced perfectly. Will go back when in the area again.

Had a takeout last night, i guess one of the best teriyaki i ever had! Super busy but totally worth the wait! Great staff and great service

Rude service. Was told 30 minutes for the food to be ready for takeout. When I came back 30 minutes later I was told another 10 minutes which I was ok with. When I came in 10 minutes later the woman ridiculed me saying "you were just here" and "we just did this. " Not worth the hassle to order food here.

Over sauced food. Teriyaki is way too sweet for the second time. Feels like the staff are very busy and tired. Takes average 45 min to get your food.

Growing up in Vic, noodle box used to be my favourite restaurant - a place where you could ALWAYS count on the food being fresh and flavourful.

Now, the food is worse than mall food court food. Way too much sauce, very few fresh veggies, and lackluster in flavour. Very very very disappointed that noodle box seems to have degraded through a process of corporatization that has cheapened the ingredients and execution of previously incredible dishes.

Take your business elsewhere (e.g. Foo, Baan Thai, JJ's)

Food is consistently cold, only half filled and/or incorrect order or WAY too spice when asking for mild.
I have enjoyed Noodlebox for many years from many locations, but this location is operating at a sub-par level.

Prior to writing this review, I called this location 3 times, to discuss my 3 previous orders (cold, only half filled and/or incorrect order/way to spicy.)

No answer all 3 times. I proceed to write Uptown Noodlebox an email stating that "rather than leaving a negative review, I wanted to let you know that the order (s) ) had received were far from acceptable.

No response. Lack of care. Disappointing.

Won't be returning to this location and wont be recommending this location.

Love noodle box, this location needs to sort itself out.

Told me 45 minutes and when I came back 45 minutes later they had forgotten my order. I waited another 10, when it wasn’t ready - I had a hard stop and had to leave.

To their credit they gave me a refund, but ridiculously bad service otherwise

Tried bombay mac and cheese for the first time and it was amazing! It was really busy there and staff was working really hard. Kudos to the whole team for great experience

This may be a but bold, but I don't think there is a better noodle house on earth. I would eat here every single day. If I was falsely accused and on death row, my last meal would be noodlebox. Spicy Peanut, Pad Thai, Jungle Curry. It's all incredible.

I wish I could rate them Zero. Horrible experience. Super busy store. Waited for more than one hour to get the food. They don’t prepare food based on the order timing. It’s a mess. Dine-in customers wait way too much longer than takeout ones. No idea why so many people come to eat. Not organized and the food was not good at all. Evidently not authentic. First time is last time. Awesome

For fifteen years I’ve been eating Noodlebox. It’s been my absolute favourite take-out. I make it a point of not leaving bad reviews, but instead simply just take my business elsewhere. It’s tough enough running a business without some jerk who had a bad day giving you one star.

But honestly, I can’t leave this be. This is not the Noodlebox of years past. Since changing hands 5+ years ago, the attention to quality and the flavour profiles that made NB amazing… well, it’s gotten progressively worse to the point where this will be the last time I bother.

How do you burn Mac and cheese? !? ! My kid won’t eat it, and neither would I. If it weren’t delivered by DoorDash, I would have sent it back.

Thai style Chow Mein was not the chow mein noodles that it normally had, nor like the other chow mein box we got. Instead, it was overcooked ramen style noodles. Overcooked veggies. Tiny nibblets of chicken. So absolutely disappointing.

So sad.

Any time Noodle Box has a promotion evening, its a gong show. Expect to wait 20-40 mins for your order. I called at 4: 37 PM for a pick up at 6: 00. No one mentioned it was a 2 hr wait. Wait in line till 6: 40+.

I love noodle box and have no issue with the quality of the food. However this location is consistently disappointing. Tonight I waited 40 minutes for my order only to find out they “couldn’t find my order”. I understand mistakes happen in busy restaurant environments, but I wasn’t the only one left waiting for my food. Several orders were messed up, there was quite the crowd of angry customers. The chefs were working incredibly hard, but the front of house staff seems disorganized and panicky.

Do yourself a favour and go to one of the other locations.

I'm changing my review after a great experience at Noodlebox uptown last night. First off I have sensory issues so as usual I seek the quietest table and politely asked if it could be wiped. Not only did they wipe it, the cashier noticed my disability and turned the music down without hesitation. I was able to really enjoy my rare evening out. Secondly, my food was nearly as delicious when it used to be served fresh from a cart down in Chinatown!

Make sure you check that you got what you ordered. As they don't always give you the right noodles

Noodle Box used to be good. It is no longer the same establishment it once was. There is no way to describe the food we got today other than disgusting. Do not waste your money or time.

Noodlebox has been my favorite treat for me for many years. I’m a senior and look forward to the night I’m getting noodlebox! I love it and Asian foods. I don’t want to dis it at all but when I went for my treat tonight at uptown Victoria, geez was I disappointed. Bland, very little sauce, like little or no taste and cold! Soggy. This hasn't been the first time lately. I ask for medium spice. There was no taste to the sauce-I’m in my fridge adding sauce/spices. I’m disappointed. I’ve been going there for like 15 years. What’s up with that?
New cooks? I don’t know. But when I pay that amount of money to be thrilled with a great meal, I want it to be at or above noodlebox standards. Anyone else experiencing this?

Serious lack of flavour.
Unfortunately I have noticed (as other reviews state) that the quality at Noolebox has really gone downhill since expanding. I have had their Spicy Peanut Box a few other Victoria locations in recent years and it was very good and bursting with flavour but the one I ordered at the Uptown location was very bland. My partner ordered the Black Bean Garlic and we both agreed that it was also bland. The one good thing about our meal was that the portion sizes were excellent. Noodlebox works on a Franchise model so I cant speak to how widespread the drop in quality is. Victoria has many excellent noodle spots (Bao, I Kyu, to name two) and sadly this is not longer one of them.

Waited 45 minutes for an order for two people. Huge mess of water on the floor where customers eat. The staff here are completely stunned! Go elsewhere.

Ordered the black bean garlic and ginger beef. The black bean garlic had absolutely no flavour, and the beef on the ginger beef bowl was chewy to the point of being inedible. I don’t know if it’s because we came in with 30 minutes before closing, but as other reviews say, noodle box has gone very downhill. We are so disappointed that we don’t want to finish our meals.

Worst noodlebox location I've ever been to as years as a fan. Couldn't even get an order in. Tried, but the guy kept getting destracted and forgetting where he was. Staff seemed very confused and strung out overall. Not worth trying.

This is my least favorite Noodle Box.
They always seem to get my spouse's order correct but never mine. He orders Mild and I always order Medium/hot. And I never ever ever get Medium/hot instead I'm stuck with overly sweet garbage that I feel forced to choke down because the thought of wasting food makes my skin crawl.
He's always pleased with his meal my kids love the kids box and Im left sad and unsatisfied after spending around 60 bucks.

I don’t know what happened to uptown noodlebox. It was so overcooked — all the veggies turned into mush, and the rice was so watery. It felt like i was eating baby food. Noodlebox was usually fine, what happened?

I ordered 2 beef and broccoli and they were the worst I’ve ever eaten at this restaurant! Too much sauce. 1 small piece of broccoli and 2 pieces of beef that were pure gristle! Both boxes were the same! Very disappointing!

Disappointed. We ordered pad Thai with extra broccoli and crispy chicken. The order only had two tiny pieces of broccoli and the crispy chicken did not taste fresh. The noodles were completely dry. There was no sign or taste of any sauce. We also ordered the kid's mac and cheese. The macaroni was also dry with barely any of that creamy cheese sauce. The Kung pao was the only meal that was well prepared

This place/chain has everything I like about food yet fails time after time. All those flames yet zero Wok Hei. Veggies might as well be steamed. Always enough sauce for at least two boxes if not three (minus the time they forgot sauce altogether) My last and final visit I ordered garlic black bean and received teriyaki. 5 visits and 5 fails.

Teriyaki with extra meat? Do you see any extra meat? I don't need your refund or money. Just give the people what they pay, or here you go 1 star

Fantastic food on the go, or you can stay and enjoy. The prices are reasonable and there is always something new to try for the adventurous, Or the traditional yummy choices for those who enjoy a more comforting meal.

I've been avoiding noodle box entirely Because my home location is Langford. They've been doing really bad at food quality. Thanks for showing them up and making me want to come back once again. I'll drive further for the much better quality.

Servings are large and generous, but not all dishes are that good, nor legit southeast Asia noodles as they proclaim. They try, but don't get them right for 3 out of the 4 dishes we had. Cambodian jungle curry was good, but the rest were meh.

Good food. Front of house service is miserable! No friendly greeting.no smiles. They look like they want to kill you.

Service was exceptional as were the portions! My girlfriend really enjoyed her meal although it gave her wicked farts.

Teriyaki chicken, mild/medium with chicken is my absolute favorite thing! Never disappoints and always exactly what I need! The staff, like the food, are amazing. Love the open kitchen, for a people watcher like myself it's great to see people at work who seem to love being there.

We really enjoyed the food here. Was a bit confusing at first as we had never been to this type of restaurant. Food was great and staff were friendly. Was very busy so seating was limited and finding a clean spot to sit and eat was difficult. Would of liked to of seen a bit more on the cleaning of seating areas.

The service was very slow. I find that the portion were not enough. And they forget 2 spring rolls in our box. Because we waited 40 min for our 4 box for takeout I didn’t have the energy to go back for my spring rolls. The taste of the food was ok 3/5 not worth the prices and specially the time it took for us to have our meal. I must agree that despite our inconvenient the staff were polite and respectful.

The noodles were amazing and were served fresh and very hot. Will be going back to try other flavors.

We ordered takeout here recently and our experience was mixed. They could really have used a second person at the till when I was in the store. There were several people in line and the wait was more than ten minutes to pick up our order. Annoying when it's already made.

That said, one box was really good and tasty but I got the phad thai and found it to be really dry. There's normally more sauce in Noodle Box. I finished it but didn't find it to be good value this time around.

Conveniently located at Uptown Mall making it accessible by personal & public transportation; this makes for an excellent dine-in or take-out for noodle lovers.

Everytime I come to Victoria (although there are Noodlebox is Vancouver that I rarely go to) I make a stop here. Why?

Like I mentioned it convenient to get to; the food is fresh and only cooked over a fire once ordered (no heat lamps). They will also allow you to swap noodles if you'd prefer a different noodle than what is in the description of the specific dish. The restaurant is always clean with music that is not too loud or too quiet. They even serve some adult drinks (beer).

The only reason they are losing a star is because I believe they've toned it down on the level of "hot" and the amount of protein in each serving. Makes me wonder why I'm still paying about $15/dish

They have good food and fast service. I was happy with them because they were also very accommodating for my allergy and dealt with it quickly. The staff were friendly even though they were busy. You get a lot of food for what you pay for and they have good vegetarian options. I will be going here again soon.

The menu has changed significantly from a few years ago. Switching to the "choose your box, choose your protein" concept has cast a pall of sameness over all the dishes. Gone are the classics like the excellent nasi goreng. These dishes are classics for a reason, and doing away with them has robbed Noodlebox of what made it great.

This store is particularly loud and messy.

Cooks in the Kitchen are tasked heavy but still mannage to get my order right every time. Verry impressed with noodlebox tim hortons could learn a thing or two from them about getting orders corrent.

A classic Victoria spot. 4 types of spicy sauce (5 if you consider "none" a sauce), many types of noodles dishes. They serve beer bottles ats ersly as lunch. Bring your student ID for a dollar off.

Seems like there’s a lot of cocaine addicts who work at noodle box and I know cause my buddy was a manager wouldn’t recommend at all lol

Food is ok but incredibly expensive for a small portion of takeout. Can go out to a decent resturaunt for the same price.
