Good purchase experience, we went in knowing we wanted a DJ, just not sure of the size or model. Great to be able to try a couple for size and find the perfect fit. Thanks Hannah and Grizz for the recommendations on bike and anccessories, and the sweet deal.

DO NOT BUY NORCO BIKES (old John Henry Bikes) in north Vancouver.

My husband and I already have 2x e-bikes (city bikes) from another store. Price included everything you needed. There was no hidden or misrepresentation in price.

We love our Ebikes so much we wanted to get a couple of e-mountain bikes to use on the trails in and around our area, which we can’t do with our city e-bikes.

I don’t like shopping for bikes online. I base all my purchase decisions on information I receive from the knowledgeable staff I store.

So…

Three visits to buy a bike.
Paid the deposit
The bike was made for me.
I returned to test the bike
Paid the outstanding balance (so I fully bought the bike). I fully completed the transaction.

I paid for everything I was told to pay for.

I left the store with my new bike.
Tried to get it on my bike rack.
My new bike wouldn’t fit on my bike rack.

I had to leave the bike in-store in the ‘sold merchandise section’ to go to the hardware store get a bike strap so I could take my bike home.

Went back to the store to pick up the bike … and they wanted to charge me more.

They screwed up. After THREE VISITS no one in the store told me there was going to be an additional price.

As far as I was aware I had fully paid for everything. I had completed the transaction.

If the bike had fit on my bike rack … I would have already driven home and away from the store with it…

Had words with manager who took no responsibility in that after 3 visits, no one told me there was going to be an additional charge.

There was no mention on the actual sales tag about an additional charge (and the charge was significant).

After my shocked and given the situation, I requested a discount on the surprise sur charge. Manager said no.

He took no responsibility for the situation. The fact that in 3x visits no one told me there was going to be an additional charge on top of the bike price tag.

Even tho I had already purchased the bike and completed the transaction - in full - he refused to give me the bike…holding it hostage until I paid the extra they wanted.

After arguing about it, I agreed to pay it… since I already fully purchased the bike.

So even tho I finally agreed to pay the extra, he then decided he didn’t want to give me or sell me the bike. Even tho I already paid for it.

He refused to give me the bike saying that I was not “the type of customer he wanted” and he canceled the purchase without my consent.

So folks, just giving you a warning… NORCO North Vancouver have terrible customer service.

They hide and misrepresent their pricing. And then decide to not give you the product even after you’ve paid for it… claiming you are not ‘the right sort of person.

Would have given them 5 stars, but I had to source a new tire for the norco kids bike that I bought from them because they didn't have the proper size tire. Took awhile to find the tire, bit of a hassle. That being said they didn't charge me for installing the new tire, replaced broken brake lever part servicing and turning the bike. And they gave me a good deal on a new kids bike and helmet for my other granddaughter. So thanks Norco, I'll definitely be back. On second thought I'll up that to 5 STARS.

Repair shop did a same day repair, super fair price, and threw in a free part for a different bike. Will be returning.

I'm writing this review with a measure of genuine frustration. Typically, bike shops go above and beyond to ensure your experience is seamless and enjoyable. However, Norco North Shore didn’t even come close. When I’m shelling out $6,000+ for a bike, I expect a certain level of engagement and guidance. Norco North Shore’s response was the equivalent of a lackadaisical, “Cool, checkout at the front. ” No information about the bike, no fitting, and seemingly no interest in the fact that I was making a substantial purchase. I felt like just another transaction to them.

Buying an expensive bike isn’t just about the bike itself; it's about forging a long-lasting relationship with a shop that you expect to provide service and support for years to come. Norco, however, seemed determined to accomplish the exact opposite.

To add insult to injury, I’ve faced numerous issues with the bike since purchasing it. Norco North Shore’s response? A begrudging, “Fine, I guess we'll deal with it. " It’s as if the moment my credit card was swiped, I ceased to matter.

I’ve dealt with various bike shops in the past, and most seem to genuinely value my business and wish to maintain a long-term relationship. That’s why I am so frustrated by my experience with Norco North Shore. I will not be returning to them, nor will I recommend them to anyone. It’s a resounding thumbs down from me.

Fantastic customer service. I had a niggling issue with the front brake on my new bike and they went to length to help me sort it out. We ended up getting three bikes from these guys.

Tried to return a Christmas gift two weeks after Christmas, gift was ordered in and my wife was told if it was the wrong one it could be returned and a new one brought in. Right away we were told 20% restocking charge ($40) and in store credit only because it was 2 weeks past purchase date. Keep in mind, this was a Christmas gift. Fellow in store not helpful at all. I have been in retail and would have put the return back on the sales floor as it is a product they supposedly sell but have limited stock.
As a avid cyclist I won't return to this shop.
Lastly, this is the first review I have ever written so you can understand the customer service, or lack there of that we received and how disappointed I am for local bike shop.
In hindsight maybe online shopping is the way to go.
