I do not like dentists and have been afraid because of past bad experiences. My feelings changed completely when I started going to this clinic. I'm always greeted in a friendly manner by the staff. The hygienists and my dentist are very professional and make me feel comfortable. I highly recommend this dentist office.

I needed periodontal care and was referred to another periodontist but I chose to see DR. MANDY (Mandana Nematollahi). Her great expertise was a given, but I also found her a very warm, caring person.

Also had a cleaning session recently. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Unlike many other dental offices, there was almost no waiting time here. JAG was amazingly thorough and pleasant. Terrific experience!

My daughter sees Linda for her cleaning and we couldn't be happier. Linda is so great with kids, making them feel totally comfortable with the whole experience.

Every visit is a trip! Leaving with a complementary toothbrush and floss is the icing on the cake. And the little mini tubes of toothpaste are prefect for travel.

As far as dentists go, the staff here is amazing and my dentist, Dr. Houchman is very gentle and does great work!

Went for routine check up & cleaning appointments for myself and two children (12 & 14 year olds). Friendly reception, super nice and efficient hygienists, and Dr. Harry is the best! Explains everything, and very kind.

Recently switch all my dental services to this dental clinic, due to the location being conveniently close to home. And I did not regret a bit! My old provider was great, but these ladies and gents are really going above and beyond to provide top service. Location is great, lots of parking available, nice clean and well organized clinic, extremely helpful and nice front dest staff and amazing hygienists and dentists! Great value to the neighbourhood.

Everyone was exceptional, the dentist and assistant were friendly and expedient. Carol at the front desk whom administered my dental benefit claim was one of the best people I’ve ever met in my life. There is not one bad thing I could possibly say about north Burnaby dental group. They are the best of the best. I recommend them on a regular basis.

They constantly cancel appointments that are hard to get (cleaning, Saturdays. Had two cancelled due to staff sickness months ago) and leave you hanging for months and months without an available appointment. They dont seem to have enough hygienists to handle their huge load of patients which is very frustrating. Particularly frustrating when you are trying to follow their own recommendations on frequency. People work. Needing evenings and weekends is normal. Im tired of dealing with this ongoing appointment difficulties for 5 years!

Been going to this dental office for 47 years. Have observed dentists retire and new ones join the practice.
Same goes for the staff.
Everyone is still as kind, pleasant and professional as 47 years ago.

I had a great experience with the Clinic. Bianca did an amazing job fitting me as emergency and took care of every step.

I had a great experience at North Burnaby Dental with everyone from Dr. Truong, the hygienist and the front staff. They were friendly, accommodating, gentle and informative with before they completed any procedures. Highly recommend!

Do not come here for children's services; I'm unsure why even advertise that they offer them on their website. We have generally been happy with the quality of service with the previous dentists who have seen my wife and I for 5+ years; however, after this experience we are re-evaluating whether this is still the right place for our family.

We brought our 2.5 year old here earlier this year to have her teeth checked (for the first time) by Dr. Pennington, who was fantastic and was able to confirm that everything was ok, minus some staining that could be dealt with through a cleaning by one of the hygienists (I will omit her name) who specializes in kids. We came back a few months later for a cleaning appointment with this hygienist; she tried for all of about 5 min to clean my daughter's teeth (who was calm, but scared) before she declared "this isn't happening" and to "trust her" as she sees a lot of kids. I was disappointed with the lack of effort, and how quick she was to give up, but in the end agreed to come back after 6 months when my daughter was 3. We were not charged anything, and were re-booked by the receptionist.

We came back today for our appointment with the same hygienist. My now 3-year old was scared and reluctant to put on the sun glasses, bib/apron, and lay down in the chair on her own, so I lay down with me. The hygienist probably tried to get her to open her mouth for all of 30 seconds before declaring out loud that "she is non compliant" and that they can't proceed. I pushed back and pleaded for her to try again (and I would try to get my daughter to calm down incenting her). The hygienist made a minor attempt to try again pulling out the electric toothbrush placing the brush on my daughters hand, which only agitated her further. She told me once again that she was "being non compliant" and declared that the appointment was over, and that they have to be mindful of other patients (re: my daughter crying). Note, the "kids spot" is in the hallway and not in an enclosed room.
Over the past 3 years we have seen many medical practitioners from emerg, urgent care, pediatricians, allergists, nurses giving vaccinations, etc.and every one of them have found a way to appropriately engage with my daughter, keeping her calm, not using negative vocabulary out loud in front of them such as "they are being non compliant", etc. I am unsure why this practice recommends this hygienist as being specialized with kids when she has no patience, let alone discretion with respect to the choice of words she uses out loud with a toddler who clearly understood what was going on.

Full disclosure, I have called in to provide this feedback directly to the office, and to advise them to remove my daughter from their list of patients as we would not be attempting another visit and seeking another practice who actually can handle kids. I was told that this hygienist has 35 years of experience working with kids. Note that out of respect I have chosen not to name the hygienist.

Do not bring your kids here - there are countless dental practices in Burnaby Heights, go somewhere else.

I'm a new patient and was referred to North Burnaby Dental Clinic. The hygienist that cleaned my teeth did a fantastic job. I also had quite a bit of frontal work required. Dr Pennington did an awesome job. Thank you.

My family and I started coming to this clinic a few years ago. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. The clinic is clean and usually appointments run on time. Dr Pennington is friendly and knowledgeable. My regular hygienist, Tamara is very thorough and does an excellent job cleaning my teeth. She is a real people person always makes me feel comfortable with easy going conversations while she cleans my teeth. She is an excellent hygienist. Highly recommend.

I've been a patient here for many years and I've never had any concerns. The place was always super clean, the staff friendly, everything was great. The last couple of months though things have really gone downhill and fast. They've made so many changes at the front. Even during a pandemic suddenly they made the waiting room way, way smaller, seats are almost stacked on top of each other, it's like they want people to get sick. It's not safe, why would they make these changes during a PANDEMIC? Everyone else wants more room to distance and they shrink the waiting area? On top of this, they can't seem to keep staff. I used to see the same faces every time, always happy and smiling, and now I never see them twice. Something changed and I'm not happy at all. It's time to think about a new dental office, I guess. Really disappointing!

Clean, professional, and friendly environment. Dr. Milani did my procedures. She was very good. Ana and Emma assisted with my procedures! They two girls were so knowledgeable and efficient. Also-Sharon gave me a very pleasant experience at the front! I would recommend my experience to anyone.

The front desk staff are friendly and place is clean, but Dr. Milani is definitely the most carless dentist I have ever met. If I can, I would give her a 0 star for the rating.

Amazing service, super friendly staff, and the dentist takes the time to actually explain the x-rays and what they mean. They also always take the time to ask how I'm doing as a person, and not just what concerns I have about my dental health, which I appreciate!

I first started going to this clinic because it was within walking distance, but even after moving, it's worth the long commute to come back!

If you have dental insurance, make sure, before you climb in the chair, you know the bottom line. They are all smiles until it comes to the bill where they charge more than any dental office in the hood. Although I had coverage the office staff failed to inform me that the coverage did not take effect until the day after my visit. $550 for x-rays, cleaning and check-up. I left in tears and will never go back or recommend this cattle call of a business. A bunch of phonies who only care about the money

I had a great experience there, my hygienist Tamara was amazing and made me feel very comfortable even though i hate dentists. Would definitely recommend!

We chose this dental practice somewhat randomly ("nearby") a few decades ago when we moved to Burnaby, and we have been very happy we did.though our much-appreciated Dr McCaffrey retired, Dr Schmidt has been a good replacement.i appreciate that i can stay with the same hygienist for every appointment.their communication is clear and they made it easy to book for the whole family over the years.we have been happy to have been able to refer a few friends to the practice.

I had a great experience with a wonderful hygienist, Tamara, when I went in for just a regular cleaning. She listened to what was important to me and exceeded my expectations! She was gentle, caring and could tell that she loved her profession. Not only did she teach me how to floss properly, but also taught me how to floss the GAPS in between my teeth, which NO other dentists had taught me! I now know what those little brushes are used for!

I had some tarter and she made sure they were all scraped off and my teeth were glistening white at the end. No, I didn't get the whitening service done!

I had done a video shoot that day and couldn't help it, but noticed how white and clean my teeth were, even a friend noticed it after having seen my video! I was extremely impressed!

I was referred to Mr. Houman Houchmand by a very good friend of mine. Since I started being a patient of Houman I feel that I am in the best hands I could possibly be for my dental health.

Dr. Schmidt is AMAZING! Hate to tell everyone because now she will be even busier; all good. I can share a good thing.

The entire crew is very professional, pleasant, courteous and accommodating. Excellent Covid sanitizing practices. My hygienist Kelly is very gentle yet thorough. She’s also informative and very pleasant. A very inviting and comfortable experience overall.

I love my dentist Dr Pennington. He’s amazing, he’s very thorough and patient. Alice is my favorite hygienist. She’s upbeat, happy and always explains everything completely so I’m kept in the loop the whole time.

My only complaint would be Natasha. I’m not going to deduct any stars because of one person, however I do hope my comment is taken seriously and she can improve on her customer service experience.

I’ve had her check me in at the door my last 2 visits and she could really use some tweaking of how she greets you coming into the clinic. She comes across very abrasive and confrontational. Just some adjustments on how she words things would make a huge difference. Instead of saying “you need to wear a mask! ” How about “do you have a mask with you today? Great, if you don’t mind wearing that in the waiting area please”. It doesn’t need to feel like a confrontation as who likes going to the dentist in the first place, I don’t need to be greeted by that low vibrational, angry energy on top of it. Other that that I’ve always been happy with this clinic for all my dental needs.

Very rude treatment upon entry and disappointed that they refused to treat our son's fillings, insisting that we go to a paediatric dentist where there is a long waitlist.

The staff at north burnaby dental group are wonderful! They are extremely helpful with everything you need. Dr houchmand and the hygenists are very caring in any issues you may have with your dental needs or issues. I feel comfortable in a safe and clean dental office.

Dr. Houchmand is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I had to have a couple of fillings done and they were done well and was not painful. The staff is super friendly and helpful as well.

I literally can’t speak higher enough of Dr Milani and Kelsey! They are miracle workers with our 7 year old twins, especially our son. They are SO patient and kind. We love them. Couldn’t recommenced them more!

I hadn't been to the dentist in over ten years. Read that again.

As a kid I was always terrified of the dentist and had the worst experiences. So for over ten years I never went due to crippling fear. I'm not kidding when I say I would lose sleep over the thought of going to the dentist. I even cried when I made my consultation appointment.

What made me go was my sister, and a friend whose partner was having root canals and several other appointments due to the length of time he avoided the dentist. I thought I needed to tackle this on in 2020 and get my oral health where it should be.

I scheduled my first appointment and went. I was hesitant but also trying to remain as positive as possible. Immediately I was met with smiles and the kindest staff who could tell I was uneasy. I met with Dr. Milani who just smiled at me and reassured me that I would never be in pain and have nothing to fear.

Following that first visit, I have been back four other times with two future appointments. I had some problematic teeth but turns out I just needed my fillings replaced, my teeth cleaned and a few other things. For ten years I couldn't chew on my right side and now I have ZERO pain. It felt like a miracle.

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I would not have been able to get through this without you guys. I recommend this place 10/10. They are miracle workers. I am not afraid of going to the dentist anymore!

Norman and I have been patients at the group since the 60s. We and our children have always had excellent care. We would recommend you all to anyone!

Horrible place. In order to make money, they did unnecessary fillings, causing severe pain. I ended up getting a root canal because of this. Get a second opinion. Theses people just want to make money.

I feel well taken care of at this clinic. Very friendly and professional staff, modern equipment and great service. My wife has had a similar experience. I can't recommend them enough.

My two little girls had a great first experience at the dentist! The playroom in the waiting area was inviting and clean, Linda clearly and cheerfully explained each part of the cleaning process to the girls, and Dr. Milani was patient and positive. We look forward to our next visit!

DR. MILANI - AWESOME EXPERIENCE!

My first time getting actual dental work (freezing) from Dr. Milani. I was dreading getting a wisdom tooth pulled that had had most of the crown broken off. I was of course expecting an hour or more in the chair. Lots of freezing. Dam over my mouth (I always have issues with the cap popping off my teeth as I was told I have a smaller mouth), and just thinking the worst how to remove the tooth since not much was showing.

I barely even felt the freezing (needle) and the felt ABSOLUTELY ZERO PAIN. It took only a COUPLE MINUTES (4 1/2 actually) for the procedure due to a cavity or something but I was LITERALLY IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE how FAST THAT WAS. I only felt pushing. ZERO PAIN.

They were all so VERY FRIENDLY, repeatedly ensuring that I WAS COMFORTABLE. Laughter. Explaining what was about to happen. Not the experience I was anticipating.

I truly understand all the incredible reviews I am reading on Dr. Milani and the award I seen as Dentist of the year Burnaby 2018!

Makes going to the dentist that bit easier!

I just had some cosmetic dentistry done by Dr Milani and I was ecstatically happy with the results. The porcelain veneer composites that were added to my original teeth to fill in the gaps in my teeth look so natural. Dr Milani and her staff made me feel so comfortable during the 2 hour procedure. I would highly recommend Dr Milani for her wonderful skills.

This facility has out classed all of the others by far. I’ve been to a number of the other dental places including the locations in,
Metrotown and Brentwood Mall needless to say those were complete failures.

Yet another extremely positive experience here at North Burnaby dental. Both my surgeon Dr. Ajar and my dentist Dr. Schmidt were phenomenal. Dr. Ajar is very real, with a good sense of humor. Dr. Schmidt is kind and honest, graced with a soft, warm presence. All the staff are knowledgable, intelligent, compassionate, accommodating and super kind.

They were sensitive to all my needs and anxieties. This is legitimately the best dental experience I've had. I hadn't been to the dentist in about 12 years due to a scary experience. My uncle recommended me to this place and I am so grateful he did. Although I have a lot of dental work I need to do, they made me aware of it without pressuring me or scaring me. They gave me quotes for all the services needed and an approximate timeline for which things should get done and when.

I recently had my wisdom teeth out and it was so easy and painless. The surgeon Dr. Ajar was amazing and so were the sweet CDA's.
