I am pregnant with our first baby and have many dr and lab appointments. Every single staff I have worked with or even passed by has been friendly and professional! The medical industry is going through such staff shortages right now and times are stressful for them I'm sure, but they all continue to be kind and ease my worried mom mind whenever I see them.
Thank you for all your hard work Campbell River Hospital!

The nurses just outside of the emergency ward are some of the worse there is. I was put into a room that feels like a closet; no air circulating and was given a commode instead of a bathroom. I was also forgotten by the nurses. I was put in this room around 1pm and I saw a nurse once with my supper and it is now 8pm. Wow just wow.

Best hospital in town. They've kept me and my family alive and intact since it opened.

First time at the Campbell River hospital today and, as far as hospital experiences go, it was such a pleasant experience. The building feels fairly new and not dreary. The staff who check you in at the front entrance were very friendly and knowledgeable. There were helpful directional stickers on the corridor floors to direct you as well as helpers stationed at desks in some areas. I was in the medical imagery & mammography area and the technician was friendly and explained everything very thoroughly without rushing or sounding like she'd repeated it a thousand times before. The whole experience put me right at ease and what more can you ask from a hospital?

Just had a complete right knee replacement last week, I cannot say enough good things about all of the staff that I came in contact with during my stay! Very kind, very professional, very human. All in all an uplifting experience! Thank-you.

After 3 visits in 4 weeks I hope to not be back for awhile but that isn’t due to any of the nurses, doctors, porters or house keeping. You all do a great job and from I have seen continuously do it with a smile on your face.

I’m so thankful for the amazing care I received at Campbell River Hospital. Not once in the six days I was there did I feel unsafe or not looked after. Right into surgery where someone held my hand tightly until I was out. Everyone there deserves their ANGEL WINGS as they truly are amazing. Thank you so much

I went into the Emergency Department of the Campbell River Hospital due to a fall where I hit the back of my head. I was suffering a loss of short term memory, lack of concentration and headaches.
The hospital staff were wonderful. I was put in a separate room for observation and testing. There were short periods when they were quite busy, but I did not feel abandoned, as they needed the results of the tests I had undergone. I was comfortable and the surroundings were incredibly clean, so I felt safe. After an MRI a warm blanket was put over me and I almost fell asleep. Once all the testing was complete the doctor (after looking over all my tests) let me know all was well, although I did have a concussion. He gave me information on recovery that assured me that my symptoms were common, and I would recover.
Thank you hospital staff.

The "ambassadors" are a piece of work. My medical is none of their business yet they insist on knowing what you are there for. When I refused to tell them and I knew where I was going and what was required of me they became extremely rude. I believe these so called "ambassadors" are on a power trip.

Nurses snd doctors were absolutely awesome.

Came in with a broken wrist. One of many last weekend. The wait was long, but that was to be understood. The doctor who set my wrist and the anesthesiologist were very good at keeping me calm beforehand.
I had to return the next day for surgery to pin the bone. Again the ER nurses were attentive, keeping me supplied with pain meds. The surgeon and his team were awesome, explaining everything. The recovery nurses were very nice and funny (even if my surgery kept them up late.) :). Following all the instructions and with the medication, my recovery so far has been tolerable.

They need new doctors and proper equipment.

For the doctors, They should send someone undercover to see how the staff really acts and assess the pill the doctors are prescribing and perhaps that would aid the growing drug problem in the city. But that's aside from the point.

Back to my point; perhaps have the proper doctors on duty. Campbell river is a retirement community to hear they don't have heart monitors and people have to travel all the way to Victoria full treatment that's cruel. I went for heart problems and was told, "the doctor was off for the weekend" and denied care.

In fact they like to deny care a lot. Fun fact that's illegal! If they do this to you, request that they put a note on your file that they refused to treat you and why they refused or are unable too preform treatment. Watch how fast they give you that test, If they say they don't have the equipment request that that is also put on your file. This incompetence is pathetic in a semi-retirement community to not offer proper care or resources.

From my experience and what I've seen, someone in there is so crooked they'd rather let people die and write prescriptions to profit than actually treat the many problems I've addressed. It's sad to say but I would rather travel to Nanaimo and risk dying on the trip there than go back to this place.

Great experience. My little one had a cut on his lip that I was worried required glue or stitches or something. Staff very attentive, wait was only 30 mins. My 14 month old was happy with the experience and didn’t cry once. Lip healed nicely and will definitely be back the next time we have an “owwie”.

Was refused medication I came in with, was refused treatment, was refused consult with doctor and had security called on me everytime my pain got worse. Came in as an emergency and nurses didn't even check on me. They have made all symptoms worse and if you're waiting on your doctor they assign you, then he leaves town with no concern for you at all. They tell me I'm his patient but he's not even I. The city to deal with someone who is losing feeling in their legs and body. Worse treatment I've ever experienced and I will be taking legal action if I survive.

Today, I visited the Campbell River Hospital's Endoscopy Department for the 4th times during the last five years for various testing and procedures. Either I am very lucky to have such a superb hospital team
helping and looking after me or this is such a great hospital that all patients are treated with utmost kindness and respect. For today visit to the hospital, I would like to sincerely thank the nurse who recorded all my medical information (I believe her name is Patricia, I hope I am right), the nurse who administered the intravenous saline solution (Maria, she was an expert), the two nurses in the operation room, the anesthetist (Shane) and Dr. Nichol Kimberly. I would like to thank them all from the bottom of my heart for their kindness, respectfulness and above all their expertise.

You will likely be treated as a task more than a being. From emergency administration, they try to let you go out of hospital.
