This company is outstanding! This past fall we had them hook up our newly purchased home generator to our natural gas line. They were so easy to work with plus they were punctual, pleasant, and very professional. We especially liked communicating via text message with Robert and the quick responses we received from him. Pricing was fair and competitive. We highly recommend them!

We've used Northern Star for several projects: new washer/dryer plumbing, installing gas fireplace, gas furnace and hot water heater. The thing that made Rob stand out are his creative cost effective solutions for my unique problems. He goes out of his way to ensure my objectives are met. His team has great workmanship. Tess has also been helpful with the rebate process.

This is the only company you need to call out to your house. They are responsive, the communication is excellent (send them a simple text message and they will reply!) they show up prepared and knowledgeable and with all the equipment they need and within the time frame they book, Their crew was smart and clean cut and courteous and on top of all that, they were able to fix my problem. Worth every penny and more. They will be my go to company from now after so many disappointing call outs to my place in the past with other companies with good ratings. I would highly recommend you try them.

Great experience, would highly recommend. I was somewhat doubtful that we'd be able to get the fireplace running since it is very old and the previous homeowners hadn't used it, but the technician gave it a good clean and had it running in no time. Also went above and beyond to troubleshoot why the wall switch wasn't working, fixed a wiring issue, and installed a thermostat all in the one visit. Friendly professional service, will definitely use this company again for any plumbing/fireplace needs in the future.

My shower stopped working suddenly on a Thursday and I called a few other places that would be able to get to me until the following week.

I called NorthernStar at 11 and by 3pm John was at my door ready to solve the problem. It ended up not being so straight forward but after some quick thinking John had my water running in just a few minutes. The bill was reasonable and I did not feel overcharged as I have with some trades in the least. I was smelling like a rose and they saved the day.

I recommend these guy hands down. A local family business staffed by pros. Call them.

Dan was a little llater than expected but did flush and check the on demand water heater. He also cleaned and inspected the fireplace and changed the thermostat. Very COVID safe protocols and no mess or dirt in house. Finished in an hour. Would definitely recommend him.

Rob was amazing in responding. Josh and Nate who came to install were very professional and did a clean job of installing the tankless hot water system.

We just had Northern Star switch up our Electric Boiler to Propane. They also switched up a toilet for us shortly after we moved here. Very impressed with the level of professionalism from all. Robert was great in getting back to me promptly, and setting up a time to get the job done. He also came by to check on the job and ensure all was good. Dan and Nathaniel did the boiler installation and were here when scheduled, worked hard and ensured the job was done right! Didn't check the value box on the review as it is a new system, so will take some time to see it's value but confident it will be great And excited to be using the new system supplying propane on demand instead of hydro! I called this company after getting so discouraged with another and their response was quick. They got back to me the same day and were able to schedule me an appt the next day. We have a double sided gas fireplace from the 90's which is fairly uncommon these days. We've only lived in our home for 4 months and the previous owner didn't use the fireplace for at least 3 years so we had no idea if it even worked. We called Northern Star and had John come out and take a look at it. It took over an hour for him to clean & fix it up but he got the pilot lit and the fireplace working! Due to some quirky wiring from the previous owners it was short lived as something in the wiring for the fireplace auto shut off after 30 minutes. With the fireplace being troublesome again we called Northern Star and spent some time trying to troubleshoot a fix. The owner, Rob, decided he wanted to come out and take a look. He must be some kind of magician because about 15 minutes after he showed up he had wiring fixed and got the fireplace working like new. The fireplace is burning warmer and brighter than we could have imagined which is so nice with the colder months coming and us wanting to use the fireplace for heat in our main living areas (our kittens agree). Great company and great staff. 5/5 would recommend.

Trouble is when you act like a real jerk with a company van, folks remember who you are and what you represent: impatience and a lack of both consideration and professionalism.

We had gas installed and hooked up to a range and fireplace. All communications were above and beyond my expectations, quote was easy to arrange and quick to come in. We were very pleased with the work and crew. When something wasn't quite right I was contacted right away and it was fixed. I was really impressed and I appreciated all the effort that was given in updating our home. These guys are wonderful.

Northern Star is fantastic. Needed a job done quickly and Rob was able to squeeze me in the next business day. Very transparent about what I should expect, more than others I called. I couldn't be there in person, so he sent pictures when the job was done. Will definitely start with him the next time I need something!

Robert & Tess are pros. Rob lined up our failed hot water tank for replacement within an hour. We chose instead to go tankless and they quickly had us back online Tess took care of the $1,000 Fortis BC rebate submission and efficiency sorted payment and invoicing.

I chose Northern Star Plumbing and Gas (after getting quotes from 3 other companies). I chose them because when Robert first came to the house, he was friendly, he listened carefully to what I had to say, and he was very professional, which made me believe that I could trust him (and the company) to do the job well.

Unsurprisingly, all my expectations were met. The work was done very well, and Robert went above and beyond to ensure I was completely happy- BEFORE requesting final payment. He even went over the top with extra work so that I could get my new toilet to fit in the small bathroom.
