If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Excellent facility, wonderful staff, will tell all my friends and family about them. To find a dentist I am happy with is a relief for me. Highly recommend this dentistry to any new patients.

I've been going here for a couple of years now and Hem is the best dental hygienist I've ever had! Incredibly careful and detail oriented.

Very grateful that they managed to take me in with such short notice. People are super nice and kind to me, the operation went smoothly, thanks to their professionalism. Really, can not say enough good things about the people and the treatment.

If you are just getting cleaning done wouldn’t recommend this place. Will make you go through random exams to squeeze the money out of ya. I only had 80 percent covered by CL still ended up paying close to $100.

Absolutely amazing from the front desk pleasantries, to the efficient and compassionate dentist and staff! Always nervous at the dentist and my filling went amazing fast efficient and the compassion to coach me through any discomfort was the best care I have ever had at the dentist. 100% recommend to anyone and everyone. Best dental office in Nanaimo, the staff and dentist are warm and welcoming! Very beautiful and modern office! I highly recommend if your looking for a new dentist.

I’ve been going to this dental clinic for a couple years now. The ladies at the front desk are always fantastic and friendly. I’ve had issues with my fillings a few times that they’ve done, but they’ve always fixed them at no charge. I would give them a higher rating, but I am so annoyed with the incessant calls. I have a feeling they pay their front desk ladies commission on how many appointments they book. I used to get a call every day or every other day awhile back trying to get me to book an apt to get a cleaning done that I had done 2 months prior. I just stopped answering and they eventually stopped calling… then… today, I take my sister in to get some dental work, as I’m leaving, we book 2 additional appointments to get her fillings done and not even an hour after I leave, they are calling me trying to get me to book an appointment.it’s TOOOOO much and really turns me off wanting to continue giving them my business. I understand we all need to make money, but it’s turning your customers off.

I never thought that I would give a dental office such a high rating. But this office certainly earned it.

Dr. Cooper never recommends unnecessary work. In fact, recommendations from my previous dentist for major dental work were not needed at all.

Sarah, the hygienist takes care of my cleaning and she is great with my dental phobia and gets me through it with minimal discomfort. I leave with a smile on my face.

I highly recommend Dr. Cooper and his staff!

Update: Doctor has called a couple of times to follow up which is greatly appreciated. The pain and swelling are gone but took at least 5 days.
Antibiotics were needed.
Root canal experience:
I am in much pain today because of a root canal done 2 days ago. While the doctor is friendly, he is quite young. Iam a new patient. When i book the appointment for a root canal, i was not given a choice to whom i can have it with. He is a kind young doctor but i had root canals in the past and they didn't hurt this bad. Reception was ok but i feel they weren't very empathic with this pain, especially the main one. The other one, blond, called the doctor and i was glad to at least talk to him. Not sure why the doctor took several x rays during the root canal.

I was happy with the dental hygienist procedure 10 out of 10 though. Everything else needs improvement. It seem very overcharged as well.

*I will edit this review if the pain and swelling that goes up to the eye does get better in 2 days like the dentist said (to be fair). *

The location is centrally located with ample parking. The clinic is open and bright and the equipment all looks high tech and new. The front staff are very nice and my experience was overall very positive. I reccomment this dental clinic.

Amazing! I suddenly ended up with a very sensitive tooth, and not being impressed with the last dentist office I had been visiting, I decided to try Northfield Dental after seeing they were accepting new patients. I could have jumped for joy when I managed to get an appointment for that day, but was so apprehensive of a dental visit because of my sore tooth.
The experience was so completely opposite to my fears, I was surprised from the moment I walked in the door! The reception area is bright, comfortable and very welcoming. There was no lengthy wait, the patient rooms are bright, private, and have modern amenities, including ceiling tv. This was so different to any other dental clinic I have ever been to.
The staff was incredible, not only did I feel listened to, I also felt cared for. As soon as the x-ray of my bad tooth was done, the dentist came in. (Now, for me, this was an absolute first. Never have I gone to the dentist and not had to wait in the waiting room for a lengthy time, and after getting settled in the dental chair, having to stare at the ceiling waiting while the dentist worked in the cubicle beside me on another patient.) I was very apprehensive because I knew the dentist would have to touch my sore tooth, but he was so gentle during his assessment, I was sure that he wouldn't believe I had a sore tooth. Nothing he did caused me any great discomfort.
I was awestruck when I left, never have I had this type of experience visiting the dentist! My tooth feels much better and I am hoping in a couple days that painful memory will be gone. I definitely plan to make Northfield Dental Clinic my regular dentist office.

Such a bright, modern clinic. You feel welcome and relaxed as soon as you walk through the front door. The front staff are friendly and very efficient.
This was our first visit and we were treated by Dr. Wilston, such a pleasant and knowledgable man. Certainly happy we chose this clinic and highly recommend it.

I came to Northfield Dental after having a horrible experience with a hygienist at another dentist in Nanaimo. They were absolutely terrific, the complete opposite of my previous experience. I have had a lot of dental appointments over the years, but they were checking for things in my cleaning appointment that have never been checked before (my jaw and neck)! My follow up appointments have been terrific as well. I recently called in after being up all night with a horrible toothache and they offered me an appointment in the next 15 minutes! I feel like that is unheard of! If you are considering a change, definitely give Northfield a try!

One of the best dental/hygiene experiences I have ever had! My partner and I both love this clinic and the people here! Northfield Dental offers gentle servicing (which is awesome for kids and sensitive folks) in a warm and inviting environment (especially with those yellow glasses on! During hygiene treatments).

A shoutout to my favourite hygienist, Jessica! If you have Jessica, you'll have some laughs, lots of good energy and some cool conversations (if that's what you're into), she's super gentle and kind! Jessica showed me a lot about how the cleanings work and took the time to show me the teeth and gums on a model (I'm not too sure what you call em) and took me down a beautiful path of guidance and information. It's really lovely knowing someone who cares about my teeth that much (and yours!) As I'm sure she does this with everyone. In fact, I know it.

Alijah is really great as well! I've met her a couple of times and she's a wonderful human.

Dr. Wilston came by briefly to check on my teeth during my cleaning, and he is so thorough, kind, gentle and always asks for consent. He did such a beautiful job reconstructing my partner's tooth and it looks beautiful

Kyla helped me with ensuring our benefits package is working in our favour, and pulled all of the necessary information required to make magic happen! We also had a lovely brief conversation about how I love dentists and so does Kyla, and we are probably the 1% of people that do

Seriously though, if you're not a fan of dentists, you'll love coming here. Just remember to breathe and love yourself

Northfield Dental offers a variety of services, from family services to emergency services and cosmetic as well (like veneers!)

They have a ton of parking available! At first I misread the spots that say "dental only" and somehow thought it meant staff. There are designated staff spots labeled "staff only" and a ton of other parking.

The waiting room is nice and today they were playing funny cat videos to cheer everyone on! They have magazines available, and it's really quite a nice seating area.

While you wait or on your way out, you're welcome to check the selection of great products to the left of the seating area, as soon as you walk in. They offer coco floss and fancy toothbrushes

You'll be called up by your dentist or hygienist when they're ready for you. I've never waited longer than 10 minutes (and that's usually because we're early).

It definitely goes without saying, that the energy here is incredible. If you're into people with good vibes, who know what they do and do it really well, you'll love coming here!

I love the front receptionist ladies. Especially Heather, she cracks me up with her telephone manner. Great sense of humour. I like a team who have fun. It makes going to the dentist a lot easier.

Northfield Dental has kind, friendly staff who take great care of their patients. Chris has even managed to get my son to feel more comfortable going to the dentist
(which has been a challenge to say the least).

Northfeild dental is outrageously expensive. The service was fine however if you don't have 100% coverage go somewhere else! I payed over $700 for a 50 minute cleaning, almost $2000 for 2 filling replacements (that I may not have needed) that took a little over an hour! I have 90% coverage and it still cost me HUGE, food for 2 weeks in fact! Plus after I leave I get an additional charge that I have to pay EVERY time when I went back in. THEN I talked to other people and found out the difference in fees that they were paying at other dentists. I feel ripped off and wish I didn't spend money that I honestly didn't have so the dentist could get rich by making $1000, $2000 an hour (?) while I make less next to nothing in comparison. Like I said this place is fine if you are rich or have 100% coverage and you want the rich to get richer. I feel personally ripped off. While I struggle daily whoever is getting all of this money must be sitting back giggling to be getting away with this robbery and I haven't seen any way that this business is giving back to the community. Just saying.
