Nostos Taverna

Came here twice over the holidays once with a group of six, and the second time with a group of nine. Both times, we ordered the meat platter for two and both times we couldn't finish it. Really filling. My kids regularly order the grilled octopus and the calamari. The lettuce salad is simple but refreshing. We also ordered the smelts which gradually become addictive.

The restaurant Seemed to have a nice environmental and was tidy.but did not get any service, seating there and waiting for a long time and waited, without being attended by the waitress. We decided to leave. Very disappointing.

I’ve been to pretty much every major Greek restaurant in Vancouver and this is the best. Excellent food, reasonably priced and the best service I’ve experienced in ages. Will be coming back for sure.

Don’t ask for hummus or even a side of rice at this “traditional Greek” place- they don’t serve those.
The salads are very basic and overpriced considering the ingredients.
We spent almost $100 on a plate of lamb (mostly bones and fat), overly dry octopus appetizer and two green salads.
Went home and made the rest of our dinner ourselves.
Won’t be back.
Overall disappointing as we are local and were exited to try it.

The food, for the most part, was good. Some items were a miss such as the grilled octopus (super dry and had no flavour whatsoever). The ambiance is where I had the most trouble loving this place. The lighting is cool and quite bright making it feel somewhat like a cafeteria instead of an upscale greek restaurant. Might be better for lunch, but not a cozy, welcoming environment for dinner/date night.

Very delicious Greek food.we were met with very friendly welcome and the menu was very interesting and the food was quite special.the restaurant felt very cozy and our evening was very special…we will certainly be back soon.

Really authentic Greek food! Yum!

Ordered Fix Greek beer to try suggested by our server. We started with a greek salad (big portion of feta) and very delicious dressing. Then had the Tiganopsomo - pan fried bread dough with feta cheese. Big portion, crunchy with melted feta (worth the extra calories!).

Ordered grilled shrimp, lemon potatoes that had a nice herb oil to them and chicken skewers. The chicken was succulent and perfectly grilled - we ended up ordering one more and tzatziki sauce on the side is a must.

Ambiance is nice, fireplace beside us and our server Celia was fantastic! Thank you

Will be back again soon. We forgot to take pictures when food arrived because it was so good… so here are the half eaten plates. Ha!

Very Highly Recommended! Quite possibly the best Greek food I've had in the lower mainland. Tapas style and not the standard fare with rice and potato on the side. The meat platter and greek salad were perfect. Will be back for sure to try the rest of the menu.

As a Greek who moved to Vancouver a few years ago, I guarantee you will enjoy authentic taverna style food. Finally, a place I will confidently recommend to friends. Thank you Eleni!

Very good place, outstanding service and attention. I ordered a vegetables and shrimp soup, my wife had chicken and vegetables, both very tasteful. After the starter, I had superb lamb chops, cooked to the perfection. My son had befteki, a kind of beef in Mediterranean way, wife went for chicken soulvlaki. Unfortunately, they didn’t have octopus today… Everything was delicious. The postre was good as well, did not get the name as it was not in the menu.

Nothing better than locally owned restaurants! Great food, great atmosphere, awesome employees that care about customer service, and quality above all! I’d give this place 10 stars! I must try if you’re in the area or not!

One of the finest Greek restaurants in Vancouver. Consistently authentic cuisine and meticulous attention to detail. Easily the most beautiful Greek restaurant, too. Gorgeous design. Liquor choices are a little thin (you can't have just one choice for gin, as an example) but the incredible flavors and menu more than make up for it. A must visit if you're looking for an enjoyable night out. Heartily recommended. UPDATE: Super impressive, still. Eclectic menu changed coupled with excellent prep and presentation. Wonderful.

Delicious food, great service, excellent ambiance. The only heads-up is that the Souvlaki comes with no sides whatsoever (if you order 2 skewers of it, you'll get 2 skewers of meat with nothing else on the plate). So just be prepared to order other stuff to go along with it, that's all. And yes, it's totally worth it

What an amazing treasure to have in Vancouver. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is amazing it feels like one big family and they make everyone feel welcome the owner/chef came and checked on us which was so special, Stephanie was our server she was one of the best servers I have had and she made all the suggestions on what to eat. Which The food was out of this world. 5 star restaurant I’m very excited to go back:)

Absolutely amazing! The staff is kind and friendly upon entry! Service is always available and conscientious of needs. Owners are lovely outgoing couple who works very hard to cook amazing Greek dishes as well as interacting with guests whenever possible definitely a go to spot in kits.

Family owned Greek restaurant with an authentic menu, Greek coffee and the interior gives mediterranean vibes. The platter for 4 is massive and the portokalopita super tasty.

Food was great and very authentic, staff were friendly and responsive! It deserved a 5 stars but 1 star was deducted due to the noise level of the restaurant. It wasn't full when we were there but somehow the sound of other guests, and ourselves seem to echo around. It definitely deserves a 5 stars if the noise level wasn't that high.

We came for dinner a few days ago and had the most wonderful dinner! The food and service were absolutely amazing! So we came back with a group of 10 and we were not disappointed! The staff went out of their way to make our experience just wonderful! Thank you so much!
