Novo Pizzeria & Wine Bar

Came in for lunch and had a wonderful server. Our drinks were delicious and food was delightful. The menu is small, which I like and trust in a restaurant. I didn’t order wine but their wine list was superb. The sauce on the pasta was slightly acidic (more than I enjoy) however I will return again for supper.

Had dinner on Monday evening. Ordered an appetizer, a pizza, and a pasta. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and welcoming. Definitely will return.

This was our first time to Novo, as we were going to the Carol King show at the Stanley. Heather at the entrance was so lovely making sure we had a great seat in the shade on the patio.
Marius the general manager was right away to greet us. A beautiful mimosas, buratta to start is a MUST!

Great pizzas, pastas, draft Peroni and friendly, engaging staff. What more could you ask for.oh, the fantastic warm pear, arugula and gorgonzola salad!

One of the best Neapolitan margaritas in Vancouver. Ingredients some through the pizza and pasta dishes. Would love to see more vegetarian pasta options.

We went to Novo for a mid-week lunch, just two of us. I chose this place as I've been struggling to find Vancouver Italian restaurants with more than one (pretty rudimentary) vegetarian option. The menu options looked good, and they didn't disappoint! Although we won't give it 5 stars, we'll definitely go back, and we'd definitely recommend others to try!

I went for a pasta special (squash and ricotta tortellini with toasted hazelnuts in a sage and brown butter sauce). It was delicious - I'd give it 5 stars if the butter had been taken a little further (it was still yellow and so a little oily). It was still a great dish, especially the toasted hazelnuts, and the thinness of the pasta. My partner had the pappardelle bolognese, and said it was great, but again take one star away as it could have been a little richer/had more depth. We also shared some focaccia which they cook in the pizza oven and so has lovely char; we both really enjoyed that. Alongside a little mimosa, it was a lovely meal. We both said we'd definitely come back - I need to try the pizza, and get dessert! - and would love to go in the evening and see what the energy and atmosphere is like.

Service was great - attentive but unintrusive, authentic and not over the top.

Just off the Arbutus walkway, the patio is a great place to visit. The atmosphere is somewhat of a laidback casual classy.

This place is divine for woodfire oven pizza. They have many pizza toppings to choose from and delicious pastas as well! I often bring as many friends as possible so that as a group, we can indulge with a greater variety of dishes. That being said, even coming here to enjoy some carbs, friendly staff, a book and some wine would also be perfection.

Staff are sweet, great folks. But the pasta redefines mediocre. Cacio e pepe was rubbish… didn’t even want to finish it and I was hungry. Wine list could be better, too.

Felt bad for my friend that was treating me to dinner as we both didn’t like our food at all. Won’t try it again.

I recommend Fiore or Ask For Luigi if you want some solid Italian!

Great food and great service! Only downside is that the bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible and there is a full flight of stairs down to them.

Affogato bout it pretty quick - we had a fantastic salad and something that resembled a pizza. Service was stellar, food was good not great.

Dropped in for happy hour, and what a great place. Everything tasted great, service was warm and welcoming; and the restaurant itself is comfortable and tasteful. Will definitely be returning.

We have visited the restaurant during the happy hour (2-5 pm) and ordered from the happy hour menu. The waiter was very attentive, but unfortunately that was all that this restaurant could stand out for.
We ordered the Americana pizza. It was quite greasy and honestly around the same level you would get at Dominos.
Next, the warm pear and arugula salad. Too sweet for my taste. The pear was straight from a can, which is utterly disappointing for a $20 salad.
Finally, we got a tiramisu that I am sure wasn’t freshly cooked. Also, it was a bit warm and that certainly did not add to the taste.
When we got to the bill, I paid without looking at the break down on the receipt. Later, I realized that none of the items that we have ordered from the happy hour menu (pizza, tiramisu and Aperol Spritz) were counted as such. In other words, we paid the full price for all of them. I approached the waiter with the question and after some time, the manager came up to me with a $5 dollar bill. I took the bill, since I did not want to make a big deal out of it but If you count it right, we were overcharged more than $10.
Overall, the food quality is mediocre and quality/price ratio isn’t great.

I thought pizza had cheese on it.
Staff was really nice, but this pizza is really sad. Haven’t tried anything else but would not recommend margherita pizza.
Maybe the other things on the menu are good!

Italian food is a celebration of nature: the freshest cheese, special tomatoes, aromatic basil. The locale is great and the wood fired oven does a lot of heavy lifting alongside great bread/dough. How ent, the tomatoes, basil, and cheeses used should be better.

Last night my partner and I had the most dissapointing pasta of our lives. We went out to celebrate our engagement anniversary.

We were going to just leave it at that and not come back, but the foccacia that sounded like it was included was extra which was sneaky. Unfortunately the foccacia was the best part of the meal, so the pizza is probably better and no one near us ordered pasta. The restaurant shouldn't serve overpriced pasta if they don't know how to cook it.

My partners dish was 32$ for mushy pasta, mushrooms, and frozen peas. It was really unpleasant. Bland, but still had an unpleasant texture and taste. No meat.

Mine was a 27$ pasta with just soggy mushrooms. Wasn't unpalatable but it barely had any flavour at all, tasted like butter pasta that children eat. No meat, and the pasta was inconsistently cooked, and a little overdone.

All together paid just under 100$ for a meal that would have been more enjoyable at Boston Pizza.

The rose wine was sour and didn't taste good on its own or with the bland dishes.

There are so many Italian restaurants in the area, save your date night and go elsewhere. The rating was the reason we went, and it did not deliver.

Our waiter was very good, and the patio was pretty.

Last minute booked a reservation, knowing we wanted Italian. We got a reso right away online through Google. We were seated right away and were eating within 20mins, ordered 3 dishes to share and all of them were extraordinary. The server was on point and recommended the tastiest red Italian wine. Dessert came quickly, it was tastey but the pastry was overcooked.even so it didn't matter because dinner and our server (possibly the manager) was top notch. Worth the travel from White Rock, service and food doesn't even compare to the restaurants were used to in the burbs.
So pleased and the food was delicious!

Service 5/5, environment also a 5/5 but food kinda overpriced. ~$16 not a lotta money, but it would be considering how small the dish is. Pasta undercooked too, not worth it. The iced latte was the only thing that’s good

I discovered this marvellous little gem of an Italian restaurant on Groupon. I treated my husband for Father’s Day, and what a treat it was! Wonderful, authentic, fresh food, friendly atmosphere (our host Marios was just lovely!) and hands down worth every cent of what I paid! I would happily go again! And we got to take the extra home! I had a glass of their fabulous house white wine, and we had a full five course meal! Such a great lunch and we had a fabulous dessert (the Chocolate Salted Caramel Budino! Highly recommend ending your meal with it! We shared one and it was perfect!). We live in Surrey, but this place is worth the trip! Thank you for a fantastic experience! We will definitely be back again! Gracie! ️

I was excited to order the (pricey) potato pizza from Novo. I received the pizza in the suggested/ allocated time (DoorDash). It was well delivered by the Door Dash courier. However, when I opened the box, the pizza was bone cold and had to microwave it for 2 mins before I could "tuck-in". I was disappointed - Door Dash aside - I will likely not order from Novo again and have a frozen pizza instead!

You can never go wrong with a little wine bar serving handmade pasta and wood fire pizzas. Last night’s dinner was fantastic, we shared a variety of specials, pasta & pizza! We walked home with HUGE smiles and happy bellies, and it’s all thanks to Chef Fontana & the great team at Novo. We’ll be back very soon!

Good pizza. I like the little sweetness of the honey in the chorizo salami pizza. It works well with the saltiness of the chorizo! However, the pizza was cold and a bit hard.probably because we ordered via DoorDash.

We bought a Groupon for about $70/$80 or so which included a 5 course meal for two people. We went on a Monday night and were the only people in the place for dinnertime. We started with a meatball each and shared an antipasti board which included two slices of meat and a tiny piece of cheese. We were told we could order ANY pizza or pasta on the menu. For pastas, we ordered the rigatoni carbonara and the pappardelle ragu bolognese. Both were cooked to al dente and had nice sauces. For pizzas, we ordered the Prosciutto and Arugula and Chorizo Salami and Honey. We were able to finish half of each pizza and took home the rest. The chorizo pizza was really spicy but tasty. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu which was OK. I would definitely recommend the Groupon as we left feeling super full with leftovers to take home.

Went there a few nights ago, and was sitting close to the kitchen. Food was decent if not over priced. That is until I noticed the cook that made the pastas was using his finger to taste the food. We paid and left. Will not come back.

Two really great dinners this past week. One evening, we had the Dine-Out menu for 2-3 people; the second evening, we shared an appetizer platter and ordered our own pastas and pizzas. Very interesting daily pasta specials and the Burrata cheese with grilled focaccia is excellent. Consistently friendly and efficient service. Can't wait til the patio reopens.

Fantastic Pizza! Food and Service was beyond expectations. Very nice and relaxing. Everything was perfect. First time there and I will definitely go back. I don’t know how I have missed this place. Covid protocols all in place and super clean. Again, staff was perfect and the food is great! 10/10

Pizzas tasted fine but both crusts were limp. With a bit more practice on keeping the temperature of their oven just right, they should be fine.

We ordered two pizzas and the Sicilian Meatballs for delivery with skip the dishes. The food is excellent, my favourite pizza was the Chorizo Salami and Thyme Honey Pizza over the Salami and Olives Pizza. I'm glad we ordered the meatballs as we were still a bit hungry afterwords despite them as the pizzas are not very large. Skip the dishes does not do as good a job of keeping the pizzas warm but luckily we live very close to the restaurant so it was still decently warm.

I personally doubt I'd order for delivery again however I'm definetly interested in trying dinning in next time.

Food was absolutely amazing - ordered the cacio e pepe verde which was new for me as I’ve only ever had it without arugula but really enjoyed it! Very cool and cozy yet modern atmosphere. Great spot for a date or dinner out with a friend. Tried some of the pizza too and would definitely like to go back for more! The service was a little cold IMO, and the wine a bit overpriced, which are the only reasons why I’m not giving it 5 stars. But I will probably be back for beer and pizza and highly recommend to anyone looking for an indulgent night out!

Wonderful spot on the west side. Our appetizers were amazing: burrata and Sicilian meatballs! The chorize pizza was really good. I had the crab ravioli was really salty for my liking.otherwise would have given a 5* rating. The service was really attentive and professional!

The best Italian pizza I have had in a long time! Delicious Sicilian Cannoli! Friendly staff and very clean space, me and my friends will definitely go back:) Highly recommend!

We dined here with a Groupon Voucher. The offering was so generous that we could not eat it all. Delicious food, excellent service and nice ambiance. Highly recommended.

Five star food, two star service. We didn’t have anyone take our drink orders for 15 minutes after sitting down, and it took us 45 minutes to get our pizzas. It wasn’t a particularly busy evening either. Once the pizzas came though, they were amazing!

As the name suggests, this is a pizza joint. As such it is good... At least the food is. The service is horrible and the pizzas are... You guessed it... Way over-priced.

In the recent past, I would have given Novo five stars. However on my last visit, the gnocchi was simply terrible. Completely mushy, bland and the sauce which sounded good, simply didn't work or was poorly executed. This is unfortunate, as I've had the handmade pasta there, including the bolognese, many times and it was fantastic. The panzenella, which I order almost every time precisely because it isn't a classic panzanella, was much more traditional this time and included a lot more bread. If that's what you are expecting, fair. But it's not how I'm used to them preparing it. But of course, I came for some pie! And here is where Mario and Co. Continue to shine. Novo is simply the best D. O. P pizza (or any pizza) you can get in Van, imo. Perfectly charred crust, classic toppings and flawless wood fired execution. Bravo, Novo!

This is an absolute hidden gem in Vancouver. Excellent service, some of the best Neapolitan pizza in Vancouver with inventive options (try the honey and sausage pizza), and a very well executed menu of pastas and antipasta options. Very reasonably priced and portions are large. Good wine list as well. You will love this spot.
