Brought in my Red Wing Iron Rangers that I thought were too far gone, and Dave brought them back from the brink! Incredible craftsmanship, and I’d recommend the Oak Bay Cobbler to anyone.

Excellent cobbler, but you must put up with an endless verbal stream about his views on politics.

Brought in a belt that needed repair and in a snap with a few adjustments my belt was fixed and at no cost! In fact a customer ahead of me was inquiring about the soles of his boots and the owner instructed this customer on how to fix his boots, again no charge! I am now letting people know this is an honest and respectful self employed cobbler that is a credit to society and he’s going to get more business as I am going over my shoes that need quality repair. Thank you so much for being ethical, you will be getting customers your way.

So glad my partner and I were able to find Dave’s shop in Oak Bay! We live in Langford and after calling a couple of Cobbler’s closer to us, we were referred to by one of them to Dave - citing him as a specialist.

Top tier service. He specially ordered in a certain type of protective sole for us. And when we brought in a wedding shoe that needed “emergency” service - Dave provided NEXT DAY service, for not just the one pair, but both pairs we were wanting done.

The Oak Bay Cobbler is absolutely the best place for shoe repair in town, from the quality of the work to the customer service. The owner is so lovely! And he always does an amazing job. Last summer I needed to get the heels of my Birkenstocks repaired, which he did a great job with at a much better price than I'd experienced previously at other repair shops in town. Then this summer I found new cracks in the soles running into the repaired cork. The owner was kind enough to offer to repair them again free of charge, even though the cracks were much further into the shoe than where he'd originally done work last year. I just got them back, and I'm so happy to have them feeling like new. He's the best at what he does and I'm always blown away by his kindness. I'd never go anywhere else!

I'm a shoe freak and I don't buy cheap so I need someone who knows shoes. DAVE KNOWS SHOES! I love Oak Bay Cobbler! Got there on the recommendation of a friend. Dave resoled the shoes in less time than he thought he would do it. They are beautiful and just like new! I'd recommend Oak Bay Cobbler to anyone who respects their shoes and their feet! My (now former) "go to cobbler" told me my shoes were impossible to repair and he was rude while he told me! Too bad for him 'cuz I used to spend a lot of money there. YAY Oak Bay Cobbler! GO THERE!

Super reasonable pricing, cost around 30 dollars for a cleaning of my Doc Martens due to winter salt damage. Friendly, personable. Would recommend!

Amazing experience. I brought in a bag with a stained and scratched vachetta leather strap and he repaired it for me on the spot, free of charge. Lovely to interact with, very gregarious and knowledgeable. Highly recommend. I’ll definitely be bringing more items in for care!

Dave is the best in town. I've been taking all my dress shoes and boots to him for years. Always a great job. He keeps my eight year old dress shoes looking brand new with topy, polish and shine. When you need any cobbling, Dave's your guy!

Fantastic cobbler and all around nice guy. I have been going there for years, most recently to have a pair of leather boots dyed. He did a great job and I love them. Otherwise I have gone there to have shoes fixed and also to have leather shoes stretched out. Whenever I make bad online purchase of shoes he seems to be able to fix them so they are wearable! Highly recommend.

Could not recommend this place more! Dave was so personable and took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done for my old boots to look their best. The guy who owns and operates it is very good at his craft at least as far as I've seen. I've been there twice about 4 years apart and asked him to do something a bit out of the realm of shoe repair and he did a great job. Also, he reglued a Skechers sneaker that was coming apart and it's back to like new condition. Highly recommend him.

I came in to have a dog harness adjusted. Dave fixed it on the spot! Great service and a fantastic local business.

Not very accommodating with special requests, wanted him to stitch a belt but that was not possible on a short notice, went to his competitor and got it done immediately and for a small change

I have had excellent shoe and handbag repairs done here but I had my fingers crossed when I took my beloved but bedraggled boots in. The finish had been damaged and my own attempts to restore them were unsuccessful. Dave dubbed them "The Boo Boo Boots". I asked Dave to dye them and he did an AMAZING job. My boots look better than new!

Did an absolutely brilliant job repairing my favourite pair of boots, which had been near ruined by a competing cobbler and I was distraught. Also had them back to me in 24 hrs since I wear them so much. Such a relief, and the proprietor is so friendly and honest. Highly recommended!

Dave does a great job fixing my shoes up and is fun to chat with. There aren’t many places left in Victoria with an owner/operator running the business. You know he’ll always make sure things are just right before the shoes walk out the door. Hopefully he’ll keep it up for many years to come.

Very expensive. Get a quote BEFORE you leave your shoes with this cobbler.
Dave told me it would cost $100- to repair 2 pairs of shoes. I then went to the cobbler down the road on Oak Bay Ave in Athlone Court (inside the orthotics shop). He quoted $60- for the same work! He did a great job on my shoes and I saved $40 dollars!

Made my old beaten up cowboy boots new again. Quick turn around and a fair price. Will be taking my other boots here.

I brought in a pair of motorcycle riding boots that I thought were beyond repair after many miles of hard use. They needed to be resoled and have repairs made to where they attached to the leather uppers, and being quite attached to this pair of boots I brought them into the Oak Bay Cobbler - I figured if anyone could fix my pride & joy he'd be able too.

After being briefed on the job, timeframe, constraints and price I left cautiously optimistic.

Less than a week later he called me in, they're better than new with an improved sole and a new lease on life. Price was well within the range quoted, and very reasonable for a difficult job that gives me many more miles with them.

Highly recommend them for anyone, especially those looking for specialty boot work!

Out of all the cobbers I have visited, I have had the best experience with Dave here in Oak Bay. He has helped me with topy-ing two brand-new pair of leather-soled good-year welted Crockett and Jones shoes; reconstructed the sole and heel for a pair of leather boots for my wife; and fixed a poor topy job on a pair of Cheaney brogues. I highly recommend him for his high attention to detail and his standard of perfection.

Super expensive, poor quality work. Had soles glued on, glue came off within a few months and he blamed it on uneven pavement and that I was a toe walker. I wore the boots 2 times in that time period and I am not a toe walker. Stupidly I paid him again for the repair and the same thing happened only this time I wore them only once. DO NOT go to this cobbler.

I haven't even got my shoes back yet but I know they're going to be perfect. Funny shop owner who is fun to talk to too
