Amazing and friendly staff! Everything feels so welcoming and the place itself is very clean and tidy.

Purchased 3 sets of glasses over past several years. I am still incredibly frustrated with the overall experience, as I ended up with lenses that don't suit my eyes. Their sales staff were very helpful, but the optometrists were not. I suggest going elsewhere for a prescription.

Dr. Paterson is King when it comes to everything optical related. I have seen him for almost 10 years and never had a bad visit.
As long as I live on the Peninsula - I will never see another eye doctor. Thank you Dr. Paterson!

I was very impressed with Oak Bay optometry. A magnet fell out of the corner of my glasses that is used with my attachable sunglasses. I was pleased that they did the repair job and did not charge me. They are as good as new and I saved a lot of money by not having to replace the frames.

I had some problems with the glasses I bought. The first young dispenser I got was earnest by not very knowledgeable. When I brought them back in, Jennifer helped me and was excellent: knowledgeable and effective. When I picked up the replacement pair, Carey was also great: knowledgeable and effective as well as friendly of course.

I purchased my first pair of progressive glasses. Carey was AMAZING in helping me make all sorts of decisions. She is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Particularly I cannot thank her enough for her patience with me having hundreds of questions. Oakbay optometry team is there for you, and they make sure that you are happy with what you are purchasing. Highly recommend!

I was in an urgent situation and needed to get a form filled out for ICBC. I was lucky enough that there was an appointment available that afternoon. The staff were very friendly (and very busy). They billed direct through my benefits and made it super easy and stress free. Thanks again!

Dr. Gill and her staff were awesome at accommodating my young son and his concerning "surfer's eye" which my own doctor was concerned about. She was very calm and helpful and I really appreciate her playful nature with my son who was nervous and shy, but warmed up when she chatted with him. Thank you Dr. Gill!

Fantastic staff and great customer service. They were able to explain everything to me so that I was able to understand what is going on with my vision. And the best part, was hastle free selection of glasses where I wasnt sold on stuff I didnt need. When I had an issue with a pair of frames that were discontinued, they fixed the problem for me right away. Will only ever come here moving forward.

Poor value, poor communication. This is the reason the internet is going to kill retail sales in Victoria. My glasses sat on a shelf for two months and no on called or emailed to tell me to come in. And what a shock - when they found that my work covered the first $500 of the lenses the new glasses came in at $575. Save your time and money and just get your glasses online.

The moment you walk in you feel welcome, Marek kindly and patiently takes you every step of the way until you meet your Dr.in my case Dr. Gill, she was fantastic explaining every test along the way and most importantly she cares about her patients and finally I needed a new prescription and here I was assisted by Chelsy who provided me great advise without feeling any pressure at all.

Best eye exam I’ve had in my whole life, no exaggeration. I saw Dr. Paquette - very knowledgeable, personable, easy to talk to. Told me everything that was going to happen. I’m very happy. I will definitely go here again in the future. Also great selection of frames. Friendly staff. Also great safety practices covid-wise.

Dr. Gill is very dedicated, compassionate optometrist. Without her dedication for her job, I might lose my sight and lose the opportunity to prevent the other health issues. When I expressed my appreciation to her, she calmly responded to me that it was her job. What I have learned in life is that we should appreciate the one who does one's job extraordinary way. Moreover, some people don't do their job properly. If it is related to health, the consequence is disastrous. Even though my family doctor missed my symptom, she asked me to double-check it. Literally, she saves my life. I am very happy to have a doctor like her.

I finally have glasses I love! Thanks to Robyn who did a fantastic job helping me select frames. Dr. Kevin Hua did a thorough job for my eye examination. AND the price was very competitive when it was all tallied up. I highly recommend this optometry service. Added bonus - it is in my neighbourhood!

Dr. Paterson took excellent care of my 85 year old father who is really nervous about going to any doctor. The office is beautiful and they have amazing glasses. I highly recommend them!

I've been a patient for the past seven years and every visit I have been impressed with the level of care and service. Dr. Sutter and the entire staff are positive and professional. Highly recommend them for eye care and eye wear. Great location and easy parking. The big sculpture of the eye glasses out front serves as a bike rack too which is smart.

Dr. Paquette is extremely thorough and competent; I’ve never had a better optometrist. The staff are really nice too, have a lot of patience and they have the latest frames in a really nice, clean, modern building. Can only recommend!

Simply put, Dr. Mark Paquette is one of the best medical professionals I've ever interacted with. I'm very squeamish about my eyes being touched, and have struggled with eye exams in the past, but he has always been accommodating and patient with me. He takes the time to explain what each procedure is and what the results mean. If you're curious about optical health, he's more than happy to explain! I go in for an eye exam, and end up coming out more feeling more knowledgeable and engaged. Can't recommend him enough!

The doctors are great! Only complaint is one older woman at the service desk was a little rude. All the other people at the service desk are incredibly helpful and nice.

Had a great experience today at Oak Bay Optometry. I had a problem with my left. My regular optometrist said everything was fine, but I was not convinced. I was driving by Oak Bay Optometry on a Saturday and decided to stop in. All of the staff were very friendly and wanting to help. Dr. Hua made time for me and ended up spending over an hour to figure it out. Dr. Hua will be my regular doctor going forward. Thank you Dr Hua and everyone at Oak Bay Optometry!

I see an ophthalmologist regularly, and a few months ago (at my request) he gave me a new prescription for contact lenses (which I've worn for 40 years). I took this to Oak Bay Optometry and had them fill it for me. Turns out, it was way too strong. I've just got back from a fitting with the charming and highly professional Mark Paquette. What a completely stress-free, comfortable experience! He explained what he was doing every step of the way, and was quick but careful. They're making a straight exchange with the year's supply I'd already bought, which is a great relief. I won't bother looking anywhere else for contacts in future. And yes, with a rebate, they were cheaper than Clearly.ca! And the staff did a wonderful job of keeping Roger-the-Dodger (wire haired fox terrier) happy while I was in the exam room. What more could I ask? ! Highly recommended.

I have never been to Oak Bay Optometry, however I wanted to write something nice here about an optometrist there Dr. Mark Paquette. I work as a technician at an Opthamology clinic in Victoria, and from time to time we take on-call urgent referrals. Dr. Paquette had referred a 99 year old woman to be seen on an urgent basis and then proceeded to personally drive the patient to her appointment at our clinic as all of her family lived in Vancouver and she can get very easily confused. If that's not a man who truly cares about his patients, then I don't know what is. Dr. Paquette if you ever read this - thank you for getting this woman safely to our clinic and for being such a kind individual in a world where it can sometimes feel like there are no good people left.

I have had several visits over time with the Oak Bay Optometry and found their products and service excellent. They are very skilled in setting the trifocals to meet my needs, Dr P is great in that he takes the time to listen to my individual needs and has fitted my glasses perfectly. (In addition, his devotion to service in underdeveloped countries with helping people see goes beyond the bar.) The staff are very accommodating, very friendly without exception and helpful in making minor adjustments, and offering tea and coffee and providing free cleaning fluid for glasses. In addition, they are very professional both in appearance and manner making older folk like me feel totally comfortable with declining sensory competencies. As a person who has worked in the professional role of hiring and supervising staff in healthcare, I commend the leaders and staff at Oak Bay Optometry for a job beautifully executed.

I highly recommend the Oak Bay Optometry clinic. From start to finish all staff were charming, helpful and knowledgeable. The surroundings are nice, appointments were on time and excellent suggestions were made to me. I wasn’t happy with my glasses due to the photo grey additive and they are replacing them with no charge and a smile.
What a great place! I have also encouraged my husband and brother to go to the clinic and they were both extremely happy as well. My brother has autism so it was important to me that he be treated well. He said they Very Nice to him.
