Oak & Thorne Neighbourhood Public House

Was there last night with friends. It was the drag queen bingo night. The energy was great and our service was amazing. She helped us out, after the drag queen walked to our table and took a sip out of my friends wine glass after my friend said “no please don’t” (not very sanitary) ……. Our service apologized and brought my friend a new glass.

The food was okay. The nachos and the fish tacos were quite greasy.

The cheese burger was tiny (where's the beef?)
The TV volume was blarring so basically impossible to socialize.
Server was very nice and took good care of us.
Thumbs down.

I actually enjoyed the food so 4 starts for that also it's a sports bar so it's big and a bit dark and 30 different kinds of beer on tap! Not a dinner kind of place but to chill amd have a few beers with good appys

The experience you get is dependent on the server you end up with. Kind of hit or miss. I've waited 20min for a drink only to have it not be what I asked for other times the server is very attentive and accurate.

Server was by herself so the service was slow. Burger was cold and tasted like they ran to McDonald's to get it. Beer was the only good thing.

Casual restaurant, food and drinks were good and prices were reasonable. Our server was wonderful!

Great atmosphere and it honestly wasn't too expensive, staff are great and for covid the place was very clean. Had a great night.

My husband and I recently had our wedding rehearsal dinner at oak and Thorne, as it was a nice central location for people from both sides of the bridge. They were able to accommodate our large group including children who are allowed until 8pm. The food was exactly what we expect from a JRG location, quality and at a reasonable price. The service was wonderful! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were all taken care of and even added a few surprises to make the evening extra special. I had never been to Oak and Thorne before this but I can guarantee you we will be back.

This place is our new favorite spot love our waitress Taylor she's awesome very helpful always makes you smile? Give this place a try ask to sit in Taylor's section tell her Jason and Janice sent you.

Had possibly the best whiskey sour I've ever had here. Friendly bartender and great for watching games here. Didn't have food so not sure.

Taylor was fantastic. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the on-tap selection was extensive. First visit, won't be the last. Dry ribs, buffalo cauliflower, fried pickles, and pepperoni pizza with an excellent thin crust - all really tasty!

However.these nachos are not worth $18.
You missed a layer compared to most other places

Katelyn is super great and makes me and my family coming back. Also the rest of the staff is great too. Happy Hour could be cheaper but love it anyways.

If you're a skip driver avoid this place at all costs! Horrible service won't acknowledge when you're there even when you can see your food waiting for you. Very poor management

I recently ordered takeout and I was highly disappointed in the result. I ordered two sandwiches with fries, two appetizers and 2 slices of cheesecake. The cheesecakes were so small ($9.99 each) and looked like they had been sitting in the plastic cases for a long time. The appetizers were so small and over cooked. And the chicken in one sandwich was so dark almost burnt, and the au jus for the beef dip was liquid salt with no flavor.

I will not be returning.

Always a favorite place to stop in & enjoy a bevy, a lunch or especially a weekend brunch! Plexi-partitions separated the lower seating tables for our safety and the server was cautious with protocols. Great selection of beers & great food menu!

Enjoyed the bartender's selection of Goslings when I asked for a dark rum.the poke bowl was yummy too!

Love the atmosphere, comfortable and cozy with unique displays of furnishings throughout the place.
Service is great with a friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed the food too. Had the ceasar salad with chicken. Very nice, just a tad salty.
Will definitely return to enjoy more food and company.

Great atmosphere and delicious food. I have been for breakfast a few times. My only negative is the portions are quite small I find.

3 1/2 stars. Very limited tap selection. Loud with very little atmosphere. Servers are attractive and all dressed in black.

Not the most welcoming environment for a family to walk into. We felt like the bartender was glaring at us when we were trying to find a seat for 6 which we wound up finding on our own, but, 2 of the 3 tables we were looking to use were not wiped down. We sat for a few minutes and nobody looked in our direction let alone came over to ask us any questions. So, we left and the only question we were asked (and that was asked of me being the last person leaving) was "leaving so soon? ". I replied "not the most welcome place I've been". Not likely to be returning.

Service was slow and items were missed on a few plates. We came in early for breakfast and the place was not busy so not sure how that happens. Food was meh, nothing special or great.

I would give this place 3.5 if I could. Great ambiance and food is very reasonably priced. The service was very very slow. While the servers where pleasant, our brunch was almost 3 hours long. Just something to keep in mind. An enjoyable place, but go with lots of time.

I would rate 0 stars if I could. Bartenders told my friend he was no longer being served for no apparent reason. At first I did not believe all the other reviewers about racism but I can confirm that my friends and I are also of Indian decent and were treated poorly by staff.

I went for dinner with my wife on Tuesday April 16th. I ordered the Chicken Club sandwich, with a side of fries.

The sandwich was delicious. Fresh guac and baguette bread gave the sandwich excellent texture and flavor. The chicken was marinated in the Cajun sauce, and had a medium spice level which I thought was perfectly done. The only negative was the chicken was a bit overcooked and tougher to chew than it should have been.

French fries were perfect. Nicely salted, and some dried parsley mixed in gave a nice bust of herb flavor.

Our server was good. Casual, friendly and timely. Nothing particularily amazing or bad to mention.

I guess it's the only club/pub in town. Younger crowds. Some bartenders were friendly and some were not. Music was alright. Interesting set up with pingpong and arcade.

A brunch favorite for the hipster, arcade-enthusiast, and small family. Decent prices, good portion sizes and flavorful food. Seriously can’t pin down the aesthetic they’re going for but minus the deer/elk statue, I dig it. Get there early; as soon as doors open, the crowds come pouring in.

Love coming here for weekend late nights! Super packed and fun to meet people and we can even play some ski ball!

I'm a great fan of this chain and would normally rank them 5 stars, but this particular location has some sort of issues with the ventilation. We sat in the upper level for lunch, and quickly noticed the strong, cold wind blowing across our table. The waitress had no issues with us moving, but once we had sat at our new table for a couple of minutes we noticed the same issue. Looking around we noticed that everyone was keeping their coats on, which really isn't indicative of a comfortable environment.

The service, drinks and food were all excellent, as I'd expect from a JRG establishment, but that wind quickly cooled the food.

We had booked a Christmas party 2 months in advance at oak! We are really dissapointed with the customer service, they were not prepared with our tables and there was not enough staff to help us! Majority of us ordered of the set dinner menu and never even saw what the dessert looked like! I could go on and on but the point here is if OAK and THORN is going to take a large booking they should be prepared in advance to entertain their guests. I had a written a postive review before but after this past weekend my views have definitely changed.

Bouncers were incredibly prejudice and rude. They made us stand outside for an hour even though there were only 4 people in front of us. This place is mesed up. I do not recommend if you want to go out and have an easy care free night.

Waited over two hours in line on new years eve even with a ticket to get in. Seems like they should managed the ticket sales better to let certain amount of people in. What a joke.

I seem to end up here almost every weekend, getting a drink is always a pain but the atmosphere is great!

I've had great experiences at other jrg establishments, this one was disappointing. Over half an hour to take our orders, food was overcooked and wait staff was inattentive.
