I had one of the most difficult root canals done and Dr. Chu and the team treated me professionally and with care. Thoughtful things such as a hot towel and snacks were much appreciated after a gruelling 2 hour marathon in the chair. Thanks so much.

Dr. Chu is a great professional but the customer service is bad. The receptionist needs to understand that seeing a specialist is a big decision considering the cost and the treatment and not push people to come. He is kinda rude as well and tries not to understand the situation.

Top notch team with Dr. Chu. Excellent and comforting service. Even if you have a problem later on, Dr Chu and his team will look after you.

I was referred to Dr. Chu by my dentist for re-treatment of my root canal initially done 12 yrs ago. Dr. Chu and his assistant were professional and finished the procedure in timely manner in one sitting.

This was my first ever visit to the dentist. I needed to clean the roots and fill it up. I thought that I would die of fear, but thank God I went to this doctor. I did not feel any pain during the visit, and not after the work was done. The work was done superbly. Doctor Rene Chu thank you very much! You are the best doctor in my life

After a 2-session root canal performed by a dentist became painful and didn't settle after 2 months, I am so grateful I finally ended up in Dr. Chu's office for an assessment (and of course wished I'd just gone directly to Dr. Chu in the first place). I had been led to believe by previous dentist that going with in-dental office root canal procedure would be half the price of an endodontist. Not only was that not true, but a complete root canal can be completed by an endodontist in just one visit rather than two. As a nervous patient, I expected to have another gruelling experience with the re-do, but it was easy - Dr. Chu and his team are prompt, professional, exceedingly courteous, with an obvious attention to detail and patient comfort & questions. I almost had a small nap half way through the procedure.
The initial assessment was extremely thorough. The dentist's imaging had included a lot of xrays before and during the root canal; but the state-of-the-art imaging that they use at Dr. Chu's office was shared with me on a big screen, and the procedure was explained thoroughly and completely. It seems that sometimes inferior imaging (plain xrays) can mean that a dentist goes in for a root canal and is surprised by canal features.
The other thing that I noticed was that Dr. Chu seemed to achieve the same level of comfort (no sensation whatsoever) with less freezing and no swelling that I could feel in my mouth - which for an anxious person means a lot less anxiety (freezing can make the heart race).
All this to say that I would advise anyone to skip the dental office root canal and see an endodontist who specializes in root canals, and if you take your root canal to Dr. Chu you'll wonder what all the root canal fuss is all about. No problem.
