Delightful downtown walking tour that gave some insight to fantastic eats, both savoury and sweet, as well as things to quench your thirst! Julie was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable, accommodating, and helpful. Make sure you do this at the beginning of your Victoria stay so you can revisit local stops for a discount. Recommended!

Such a great experience! Not only was the food amazing, what we didn't expect was to learn so much of the history and back stories of the establishments we visited. Our host, Jo, was so fun but more importantly so knowledgeable of the history of Victoria and the stories behind the people who have set up their businesses in the area. We would never have stumbled across some of these hidden gems without this tour. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Great food tour! Would highly recommend if it is your first time visiting Victoria and you want to know where the food spots are! My boyfriend and I went back the next day to the restaurant we toured and got some goodies!

Our guide was Jo who did an amazing job of making this tour fun even though it was bucketing down rain! We did the Chinatown and Old Town tour, and all of the food we tasted was delicious and we can't wait to go back to Victoria again to sample some more. Loved all the information about the history of the area. Highly recommend this tour, but make sure you go ready to eat!

Enjoyable walk through downtown Victoria highlighting key sights. Our guide Michaela was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic throughout. We sampled a wide range of foods and flavours and plan to revisit several.

Brenda is amazing-so knowledgeable, I learned so much about the history and culture of Victoria. And the food was incredible, and all places I wouldn’t have gone to on my own. It’s a great springboard for the rest of your stay-you come away with so many tips and recommendations.

Brenda was lovely and quite funny, but the choice of restaurants included too many sweet items for my group.

Wow wow wow! This was an INCREDIBLE tour. We didn’t understand the few reviews saying that there wasn’t enough food. Unless they really changed things up, I was getting full (in a good way) by the fourth stop. The food was delicious but our guide Bonnie really put it over the top. Her knowledge of the city’s history, the local restaurant industry and her sense of humor made this an experience we will not quickly forget.

What a fun tour, and Bonnie was so knowledgeable about the local history! That makes a food tour so much “extra” when you also get an historical perspective. The food was great too, quite a wide variety, if I had to pick a favorite, I would say the mushroom soup at Shatterbox Coffee, but it was all really good. Also really appreciated the beer tasting at Whistle Buoy and experiencing a “sour” beer which I actually enjoyed to my surprise. Looking forward to trying your evening fine dining tour this summer!

We had a lot of fun on the food tour and our guide Brenda was great! She really knows the area and had great recommendations for food and drinks in the city.

You have to take the time to visit some of these places the guides have chosen; I had no idea any of them existed and they were sooo fun and delicious! I wish I had more time to repeat business at some of these places before I leave town! Thanks Brenda!

Really loved the bits of history covered in the tour and the stops were such a great blend of tastes and cultures - it made for a wonderful introduction to the city. Plus our guide, Brenda, was so fun and engaging, and really seemed to have a personal connection to so many restaurants in the city - I got a great dinner recommendation at the end of the tour to a place a little bit outside of walking distance! I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone interested in good food.

Brenda was awesome! Very informative and fun. We did the Chinatown tour. Food was great and much more than we could possibly eat. Highly recommend this tour. Bring extra containers for leftovers and for purchases. So many great culinary experiences. Brenda knows so much about the history and cultures of Victoria.

We are local residents and I gave this tour to my husband for his birthday. We love being a tourist in our own town and this food tour did not disappoint. Our guide Brenda was super knowledgeable about the history of this area and about the restaurants and other eateries we visited, and a lot of fun as well. We were given large sample sizes and ended up taking some home. My husband was delighted with his present! Thank you Brenda!

Great food, in perfect quantities that you enjoyed lots of it, but weren't stuffed. Brenda was extremely entertaining. Would definitely recommend!

One note, the Modern China Town tour did not have a tonne of historical information, so if that's what you're looking for, you may be slightly disappointed. The great food made up for it in my opinion!

This was an amazing afternoon. Bonnie, our guide was very personable, engaging, and oh so knowledgeable about the food, local historical facts, just anything.

We had the greatest gift from our grown children and their spouses for our 36 wedding anniversary and Father’s Day. The Downtown Victoria Food tour by Off The Eaten Track is a must go to. We had such a great food experience with a history lesson of Victoria, delivered by a guide named Brenda. She made awesome choices for local and different food choices and the presentation by each merchant enhanced the tour. Pictures to follow.

Had a great experience in this tour with Brenda. She was extremely knowledgeable and witty. The food was excellent and provided completely by local small businesses. Although the portions were quite small and I could have personally eaten a lot more. My partner and I would agree this is definitely a tour worth taking.

This tour was delightfully organized to give us just the right size taste of about seven different foods/beverages around Victoria. It was a nice variety of offerings, not too much walking except to get to the first place, with a fun and knowledgeable guide. Brenda had a great sense of humor and projected her voice well! I was on a solo trip, but had a good time talking to some of the others on the tour. Now I want to look for similar things in other cities!

Our tour guide Bonnie was super knowledgeable, the tour was interesting and the food was amazing. Definitely do not eat anything before you come, it’s a lot of very good food from local victoria based restaurants!

My husband and I are locals but wanted to do something with our stepdaughter who isn’t - we picked the church and chocolate tour for something different. Loved it! Learned a ton of stuff about our home - enjoyed fabulous treats - guide was super knowledgeable and we will definitely take on doing other tours! A great activity to remind ourselves of all the amazing features of home. (And bonus racked up 7000 + steps!)

We had an amazing time on the Downtown City Food Tour! Our guide, Bonnie, was wonderful and told us interesting stories about the city as we walked from destination to destination. We discovered so many restaurants in our new city and received many yummy samples from different places. We loved this food tour and are looking forward to doing another one soon!

My partner and I were given a gift voucher for the Downtown Food and City Tour and it was hands down the best tour we have ever been on. It was very well organized, our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and so funny, she had us in stitches so many times! It was so cool getting to meet the food establishment owners and hear directly from them about the food and the story of how they started their business, the portions were big, such a variety of different things to try and went to places we never would have found. Our guide went the extra mile making sure we had a bag for any food we wanted to save for later and helped us find the local wine shop afterwards so we could purchase some wine for a dinner picnic with out leftover that evening! Would highly recommend!

Bonnie is absolutely wonderful. She is passionate about the Victoria food scene and it shows through her delivery. We are locals and took this tour because it sounded interesting and a fun activity to do in the city given we all have to staycation at the moment! The tour was filled with interesting history tidbits that I didn’t know, and I’ve lived here my entire life! The samples you get are diverse, plentiful and you even get to choose some! We had a wonderful time - so if you’re thinking of trying this out - do! You’re guaranteed to have a grand time.

We went of the Downtown tour on a nice afternoon. Brenda took us around, gave us info on the history of the areas we walked, about the architecture, about the people and characters related to a spot, was able to answer any question that came to mind - very informed guide. The food we tried was delicious and unique and she got us to meet the chefs and owners and they told us in their own words about their products. Took us to places that the locals would frequent instead of the chains or trendy locations on the main drag. Enough samples that you are full after the 2 hour walk - don't snack before you show up

I’ve had the pleasure of being on a few tours with Off the Eaten Track and all of them were awesome! I love how the tours take you on a culinary journey around parts of town that you wouldn’t normally think to explore. Tasting your way through neighbourhoods while learning about the history is a fabulous way to explore. I’d highly recommend their culinary tours as a super entertaining way to explore a neighbourhood through your tastebuds.

We loved all of the restaurants and felt they were Covid-appropriate with the exception of the charcuterie place. Everything was on one board for 2 families with toothpicks- for nuts, big pieces of cheese and crackers - each family should have had their own board. They also were not ready for us. We Loved the owner- though the employee who talked to us was somewhat pompous. We went back the next day to 3 of the places we toured! Also enjoyed our host who clearly loves local businesses and Victoria!

We ordered a small brown bag for 2. The delivery was extremely prompt within the suggested 30 min delivery window given the day prior.

The food was delicious and an excellent way to help support local businesses while practicing social distancing. We also received a gift certificate to use later once they are able to offer tours again, and will we might even order again next month when the boxes change!

We were very impressed with this tour, and Brenda was a fantastic guide! The restaurants and pairings were wonderful and really gave us an intimate feel of Victoria.one we will never forget!

What a great tour! Our host and guide Bonnie not only knew about all of the great places we stopped to eat and drink, but she also gave our group a good history of Victoria and Vancouver Island. All of our stops offered something different, from fine local cuisine to wine tasting to local versions of international foods. And everything was delicious. Anyone who had dietary limitations was easily accommodated. Just an all around excellent experience with no complaints.

Although not everything in the brown bag appealed to everyone in our house, we all enjoyed the anticipation and opportunity to try new foods from local providers from the comfort of our home. I recently ordered the Brown Bag Food Tour and was beyond impressed with the professionalism, friendliness, and quality offered by Off The Eaten Track. I appreciate the effort that went in to preparing the Brown Bags and I'm happy to have the option to support local vendors during this time. I also appreciate the vegetarian options. I would certainly recommend and look forward to doing a walking tour someday when they are back up and running!

I got to experience the Modern Chinatown Food and History tour and really enjoyed it! Bonnie was our lovely tour guide. Loved every single one of the food stops and loved learning about the history behind this beautiful city. I felt that the tour was nicely planned out, with many locations that offer washrooms and quality food stops! I definitely recommend this tour if you’re looking for a fun way to enjoy Victoria.

The Eat like a Canadian Tour is just what I had hoped for! We sampled all delicious Canadian food and even got some behind the scenes access! Our guide, Benda, was a pleasure and she was very knowledgable about Victoria and the places we ate at. All of the restaurants and shops we visited were delicious and I had not been to any of them before! I definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants to have a fun time, walk around the city, and eat like a Canadian!
