The most famous bakery here! Their signature cinnamon rolls come in various flavors. They are so big and delicious, but they are really sweetIt tastes sinful.

Everything is always superb, but the breakfast burrito I had today made me shed a tear. Thank you.

Peanut Butter Cream Cheese. Do I even need to say anything else?

A local staple. Our favorite treat and the same of many, many others. We enjoyed it in our years living here and when we come back to visit we always save space and indulge in our favourite items.

It’s busy, but it’s worth the wait, absolutely. The best cinnamon buns ever. The best baked goods and bread, too.

I saw a bunch of people standing in a long line so I decided to get in the long line and was not disappointed. Coffee was great, the cinnamon buns were some of the best I’d ever had. They did forget our order and after about 10 minutes and seeing everyone around me get their order and leave I went up and asked. We ended up getting our order shortly after and a handful of cookies and scones on the house. Great move.

Baked goods are great! Unfortunately not much effort is taken into keeping them fresh throughout the day. Some products are only enjoyable if you get them early in the morning.
The chorizo scones we picked up had about one peice of meat each in the entire scone.

Waited in line for 20 minutes (our choice of course) placed a large order then waited and waited while others behind us got their stuff. Finally inquired why, oops, they lost our order. Apology only, another 20 mins while they prepared our order. And then it wasnt even good. The scone was like cardboard, the pot pie was overly salty & otherwise tasteless, the quiche was OK, soggy, the blueberry cinammon roll was good. For making us wait an extra 40 mins I would expect something more than sorry.

My favourite stop through Ladysmith! Everything is baked so beautifully. If your ever in the area it is a great place to stop in and get some yummy treats, aswell as great fresh bread, or breakfast! My personal favourite is the chocolate hazelnut cinnamon bun. (The cinnamon bun’s dough is literally baked from a cloud)

I took my friends here on Friday hoping to get high off the crack bar (I was raving to them about it the entire way from the ferry). To my dismay, I was told by the attractive cashier, that it was discontinued. I had to resort to the raspberry cream cheese muffin, which I guess will tide me over until the crack bar returns. Service 5/5 stars… once the crack bar returns, you’ll get your 5 stars ️

My most favorite bakery on the planet. Even after spending 6 weeks in France last summer. Such a variety of treats and all outstanding. Friendly staff. Cute location

So finally got here early enough to get my hands on some cinnamon rolls. I'm not a huge sweets eater but had heard these were amazing so had to try them. I would say they are more cakey and less dazzle than something like Cinnabon. But for me this works. I honestly feel nauseated after eating half a Cinnabon they are so sweet. Had the chocolate almond variety and it was very fresh, well balanced with chocolate swirl, sugar and cinnamon and had a definite home cooked texture. Would definitely recommend but note these are not the drenched in icing and sugar style.

Fairly Decent High Production bakery. Not a small town feel inside the bakery, its a long line and you get tasty treats in return. The cinnamon buns are very nice.

Not a lot of chit chat, feel good service, hurry up and wait. I prefer the cumberland bakery for quality and home town feel. I have worked in production shops before and its get it out as fast as possible. Keep this in mind if you think your going to go 'chill' and have a coffee and relax. Ther are tables but you won't be relaxing.

Avoid the Mexican Wrap (All you taste is refried beans)
everything else was ok. But thought the Wrap was a rip off. Was going to write the owners a letter, but considering how busy this place is I decided not to, they probably know how minute my complaint would be, but if you have been to Mexico, or California, and like Mexican food avoid this wrap. It was massive but due to the poor taste I went to Tim Hortons after.

Overall its good to check out once in your life time. I mentioned that the charger was not working at the museum, and actually called to tell them, and they said " not our problem'

but it is your problem, why? Because 5-10% of cars on Vancouver island are EV's.that attitude makes me think that they can due without that buisness.: (

Portions are huge! Prices VERY reasonable. Staff cheerful and helpful.

Incredible baked goods of all sorts, but the cinnamon buns? World class. Second to none, as far as I'm concerned.

Wonderfully friendly folks working there, a lovely array of local art, and so many delicious baked treats, but seriously.if you like cinnamon buns even a little bit, stop reading now, and go. I promise you won't be disappointed!

First time in the store. Very helpful. I will definitely be going back. Good choice of stock.

The best cinnamon buns ever. There's always a line up to get them and they sell out, so it's best to go early if you want one.

Took family here when they were visiting. My husband and I will find a different place when we have visitors as they don’t have one vegan option. We left very hungry unfortunately.

Edit to response: Poppy is nice but has a very small number of vegan options and it’s more catered to gluten free which I am not. I do purchase some of the grocery items which I appreciate. Please consider that vegan options are kinder to the planet and our animal friends so having these options would make a difference.

This has got to be the best bakery in Vancouver Island! Friendly staff and great atmosphere. They know what they’re doing. New frequent stop when driving up island. 100% recommend

First visit to Old Town Bakery in Ladysmith. We ordered two types of their famous cinnamon buns, regular cream cheese topped bun and an almond only bun, several tarts, a savoury danish and a breakfast sandwich. All were fantastic! The lineup was long, but the staff are super efficient and the line moved along quickly. Can't wait to visit Lasysmith again and try some other items.

Amazing and busy as always. If your looking to try their famous cinnamon buns, come early or be disappointed. Ithink they usually sell out of the buns by noon, but they have a plethora of other goodies to sweeten your day.

Been customers for years, especially before you expanded into a sort of "assembly line" for baked goods. You do not do your wonderful creations justice since you discontinued your tables and turned the business into a "pickup" center. No warming, no butter, just a paper bag with cold cinnamon buns. Luckily we kept one, took it home and heated it. It was indescribably delicious, compared to the first bun we ate, seated on a cold cement table outside the bakery. It too was cold and lacked the flavor emitted by warming with some melted butter. I suspect you turn out a lot more product in your present configuration, but you have lost much of your charm.

Best specialty cinnamon bun I've ever had (chocolate and pecan) and their pestor creamcheese danish is to die for! Get there early though because it is popular enought to sell out of the best by noon

Came across this place on our way to spending a few hours at Transfer beach. Now it is a regular occurance. Love all their goods.
