Once Upon A Child Abbotsford

Just took a lot of really good quality and brand clothes to Once Upon a Child that I could have easily sold online and after picking up great quality shoes and clothes, all they paid me was $18. Never taking clothes there again.

You won't get much for selling your clothes here. For the stuff I brought in recently, their offer worked out to $1.35 per item

We are from the Cariboo and always make a point to stop in at this location when we are in the area. Its clean, well organized and the clothing sold is always in great condition.

Purchased a childs saucer and they would not buy it back because it was missing safety labels.labels that were NOT on it when I purchased!

I like the store, but I do not like how I was handled the last time I came in to sell clothing. They took 2 or 3 Nike body suits for 3-6 month old baby along with a Calvin Klein body suit. They gave me all the other clothes back and said they cannot take them because they don't have a brand. When I got home I looked in the bag & they had taken an outfit I bought online which came from Japan & this outfit had one tiny tag in Japanese writing, small enough where it couldn't of been a brand or a sizing. It was barely readable & in Japanese. NO numbers for sizes. I'm confused why they would take that but tell me they couldn't take anything without a brand. I have photos of the Nike & Calvin Klein bodysuits along with the outfit they also took with basically no tags. This outfit was of a hoodie & pants that would fit a newborn-3 months.
These Nike body suits costed me nearly $40 a piece (wasn't expecting even half price) & were also worn once just for a photo. Perfect new condition. I know forsure I sold them 2. Along with the GUC Calvin Klein (that I only wanted 1.00 for) & the outfit, allllll for a payout of $14.
I could have sold the outfit with no tags for just that. I am fully aware I wouldn't be getting nearly as much for what I paid for them!

All in all I'm not pleased with my last experience. I love they're clothes and will continue to shop there but am now sceptical on if I should sell anything more. If I do I will be watching them sort through it & will talk with them about the clothing through the process. I also left with a bag of stuff I bought from there. This is no hate on the store, just be aware on what your selling. I wish I said nevermind and just took the clothing back to sell elsewhere. It is a lesson learned. This experience wasn't a good one but every visit previous was awesome. It's a great store to go shopping for your children.
This being said I'm fully aware they can pass on clothing, etc. I wasn't expecting them to take everything but was expecting a better outcome. Especially since I now notice a few more items were taken.

I'm not mad about how they were "picky". I'm mad about how they said they don't take clothing without brands but took an outfit with no brand at all or sizing! If that could be explained to me it would be much appreciated.

Hands down the best shop for kids. Their thrift items are like new, many have the original tags on, and the shop is very clean. I also like how they have a good selection of new items to shop from. We brought the clothes my Toddler has outgrown and they gave us $44 bucks too! It’s a Win-Win

Amazing selection of clothes for kids. Found a whole new summer wardrobe for my school age daughter and toddler son for under a hundred bucks! The employees were so kind and the store was very well stocked and organized. Will definitely make this a go to shopping spot.

This place is just what I need. Before I go look in high end stores, I check here. Only sometimes they don't always happen to have the best quality.

I check this store with my granddaughter every week, and she loves this place. They always have really good deal and services, especially after boxing day and the New Year. Some clearance items are only 1 dollar now, love love love!

I wish 0 stars was an option! They refuse to take any clothes that are slightly wrinkled even if they are brand new because they DON'T WASH ANYTHING! They also tell you they are giving you 30 - 50% of what they are selling it for but then they gave me $1.25 for something they are selling for over $7. That is NOT 30% so they are ripping people off and lying to them about the percentage that they get. Its sad that they are taking advantage of financially stressed parents and selling them unwashed clothing.: (

Really disappointed with service I received regarding a product that was not as advertised. Purchased a swim diaper for size 17-24lbs, my daughter is a very average 18lbs and it didn’t even close to fit. I couldn’t take her in the pool when we were already there because I couldn’t fit this product on her. I called the store and they didn’t do anything, despite the product not being at all what was described on the packaging. Basically was a “too bad not our problem” response, not allowing even an exchange. I usually receive good service from this store, really disappointed in this result, felt they could have done better.
