Options Okanagan Treatment Center

This place is truly magical! I can not thank Susie, Shirley and the support staff enough. They helped me get my life back, my kids their mom and my husband his wife.
I have had friends go to other treatment centres and I can tell from their experiences Options is like no other- private rooms, caring and loving staff, amazing meals with a cozy atmosphere. Options is a small more intimate place where the clients get a chance to connect and build bonds that last a life time. I learned so many valuable tools here. I have been blessed by getting the gift of sobriety at Options and I will be forever grateful.

If it weren't for Options my life would of been coming to an end soon. They taught me the tools to deal with my addiction and to live life with out substances. The staff have all lived through addiction and have compassion and empathy for people from all walks of life. Susie has created an amazing program for people to get there lives back and succeed in recovery. I wouldn't have a life today if it wasn't for Options. Me and my family are eternally grateful for the opportunity they have given me here. IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT!

Fantastic support staff and counselors. Food was incredible. Loved all the programing. Very comfortable accommodations. And great aftercare support and community.

I’d recommend families look elsewhere for private treatment options. A family member attended and ultimately the center did not help her with her addiction.

The center did not provide detox help. The majority of contacts from the center were about billing, which was itself a difficult process, and not about the care of my family member.

Options treatment centre is truly an amazing facility. All the staff are very competent and truly care about there clients. Doug McKenzie has gone above and beyond to help my daughter. My daughter has struggled with addiction for 12 years and has been to numerous treatment facilities including some private and government funded. When she entered Options Treatment Centre she was reluctant to accept help. Susie was instrumental in opening up a whole new world for her. My daughter continues to stay sober and I am truly thankful. Life is great again and the family continues to heal. Doug continues to stay in touch with my daughter and still calls me to see how I am doing.

Oliver Harding- Came a total wreck. I was so high I decided to roll around on a wheelchair at the airport and was given a free meal at the restaurant because they felt bad for me. Stayed 5 months made great connections with the staff and clients they really care about you. 9 months and change clean and they have a pro chef. The program director even set me up with a good career have a second mom now. Highly recommend this place for a young guy struggling, this place changed my life. The property is great, private rooms air conditioned, TVs and always someone insightful to talk to if you are struggling or need a laugh. They will go out of there way for you to help you always. They even drive me to the airport when I fly out to work. Also respect to Steve Durant the legend of options.just retired one of the wisest guys I've ever met.

I was very fortunate for several reasons. One, that I friend of mine cared enough to search for a place for me to go and rehab. Two, the fact that they found Options in Kelowna. Nearly the entire staff have gone through what I went through in some way, shape or form - so they understand, they do not judge, they get it! They are committed to helping and are skilled at counseling as well.

I was not a fan of the twelve step process, but learned that I needed to trade my old coping tools (addiction) with new coping tools (12 step, counseling, books, meetings, exercise, healty food,) Options counselors were also very skilled at helping me see what I could not - that is to say my blind-spots - the things that got me into trouble. There were many "aha" moments and I could not have gotten there on my own.

The facilities were perfect for me as well. Individual rooms, tvs, bathrooms, these were very important for me to feel like an individual, like I mattered.as opposed to an assembly line process that is trying to put as many people through as possible. Food was good and can be tailored to personal needs.

There was also yoga, a small gym with weights and exercise bikes - weekly hikes were also scheduled.

Most important though for me was the one on one counseling. It was tailored for me and my needs and situation. I was not limited to one hour per week of access to a counselor. This level of commitment was critical to my succeeding. "When the student arrived the teacher was there. " That old saying couldn't have been more true than it was for me. Once I showed up and was commited to work on me, Options and their team were there to help me.

I am alive and flourishing today because of everyone that was involved in the process. Thanks to Susie, Shirley and everyone at Options - and to Doug for fielding my initial call, and putting the right people and facilities in place to help foster the rehab process. I am truly grateful.

We brought our 22 year old son here after 6 years of decline and hopelessness due to addiction. His life turned around rapidly and options became his extended family and changed his life path. An amazing place with amazing people who saw hope when we had almost given up. Thank God for this place and their gift.

I have known the owner of Options Okanagan, Doug Mackenzie for over 10 years now so I knew exactly who to contact when I desperately needed help getting back into recovery last year. I had to go to the hospital for a medical detox prior to going to Options Okanagan Kelowna and Doug is a part of the multidisciplinary team that helped me stabilize and continues to support me to this day. I had been to treatment many times prior to entering so I thought I knew what to expect but I was blown away by the treatment I received. Every single person on their team offered encouragement, support, understanding, education and compassion while maintaining professionalism which I had previously found very rarely. All of the programming they offered helped me develop the tools and skills that I continue to use to this day to maintain my recovery. I had lost everything in my life last year including my housing, family, license and career due to my substance use so I had very little hope for my recovery. Regardless of what I had done all the staff had very high hopes and confidence in me that I too could recover if I put in the effort to change. Everyone in my life would say it’s a miracle that I found my way back into recovery and I fully believe that I would be in a different place today if I did not go to Options. I am forever grateful for the beautiful life I live today and the abundance of support I still receive from all of the staff at Options Okanagan.

Very knowledgeable and caring staff. The facility is clean and comfortable and the food is amazing!
