The Indian lady at the front desk had an attitude when she was talking to my mother. This has happened multiple times, and not only to my mother, but also my aunt. We didn’t think to write a review, but we came in today, and the exact same thing happened. The lady was dissmive, and she didn’t even bother to make eye contact when my mother was talking to her. It seemed as if she was interrogating us rather than trying to help us… Luckily a polite doctor was able to help.

Staff are very friendly and always provide great service everytime I visit. My eye doctor Dr. Ryan, is very accommodating and patiently explains all the details I need to know about my eye health. The best thing I've experienced is having to test different contact lenses before purchasing the right one. I really appreciate this kind of service.

The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. I went there today for an Eye appointment as well as picking up Eye vitamins. I've recently bought 2 pairs of glasses as well as having lenses replaced on some existing frames and I'm very satisfied with them. Their selection of stylish frames is very extensive and I'm pleased with my selections. Dr. Chui is always very explanatory when I go for my eye tests and very thorough.

Dr. Chui was wonderful. I actually had a lot of apprehension about going to see the eye doctor, and haven't actually seen one for over 20 years! The whole experience with the clinic was wonderful and I highly recommend them. Dr Chui was informative, thoughtful, caring and very professional!

As I was a client of this office before I had confidence to get my eye check done with confidence again. The stuff is very friendly, my doctor Dr. Melanie always check/doublechecked everything to make sure that nothing was overlooked. I like this office.

I went for my annual eye exam yesterday and had the best experience you could ask for. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and lovely to chat with. They got me set up with my new insurance and then checked all the other info needed. I then sat down in a clean and spacious waiting area until they were ready for me. The machines for testing were all clean and easily accessed. After being put in a room, the doctor, Dr. Hennenfent (sp?), was so kind, really informative, clear and concise. She really understood my needs. She provided me with samples of contacts and also gave me sound advice. I usually can’t stand contacts and I told her this. She made a recommendation and I gotta say, she was spot on. Currently 4 hours in to wearing them and I have zero discomfort and no want to take them out. I’d give them more than 5 stars if I could. Wow, where to start. My initial eye exam with Dr. Chui was good and he created a prescription with a follow-up appointment to try on lenses before investing in a pair. I showed up for my trial appointment, and receptionist ushered me into a room to do a big scale exam test. I didn’t understand why, as this wasn’t planned and the office staff was confused as well, finally stating there was a mixup. 35 minutes later, he came into the room looking rushed. He began doing the same eye tests on me as the first appt, and when I finally asked when I was going to try on the lenses, he said “Oh we actually don’t have them in stock right now. ” This was the entire purpose of this appt. He grabbed a pair of other spectacles and said “These aren’t your exact prescription but they’re close enough. ”. Um? I tried them on and he asked if I could see clearly. I said no, but maybe because there were fingerprints all over the lenses so maybe we could clean them first. He grabbed the lenses and just put them aside. He said, come in again and I’ll have contact lenses. I told him wait, I never wanted contact lenses, he said “We’ll freeze your eyes, they’ll be frozen for 20 minutes, it won’t hurt”. He quickly said that I should do an exam showing the back of my head that can show if there are lesions in my brain. What? !? ! Didn’t explain anything and abruptly said “I finish at 5. And I have to be in the city (Vancouver) for dinner at 6. ” It was 5: 15. My appointment was at 4: 15, he came in at 4: 50. Rushed through it, didn’t have the trial lenses, gave me dirty ones that weren’t my prescription, when I couldn’t see through them, hurriedly freaked me out mentioning brain lesions. What the actual ****. He *literally* ran out of there. Thank god I pushed to speak to another doctor asap. Dr. Melanie H jumped in and eased my mind with a quick & concise overview and said there was definitely no need for any extra tests. She was fantastic. I would have preferred Dr. Chui had just canceled my appt since nothing was prepared, including him. Zero bedside manner, rude, unsettling, waste of my time and super upsetting in a health care setting.

**My response to Optomeyes “Review Response”. Dr. Chui didn’t call me several times, he called once (a few hours after I left my original review- 2 days after I left the office). The main issue was not that he ordered extra tests, it was the manner in which he conducted himself as detailed above. I have since been to another Squamish optometrist clinic and accomplished more in one visit there than 2 at Optomeyes. Also, I was told at Optomeyes that my field vision test was going to be a charge of 20-something dollars, only to find out by another clinic: that MSP covers the Field vision test, for everyone. Weird.

Dr Chiu was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything in a detailed way that I found very interesting. I left the appointment knowing more about eye health than ever before.
He also wrote me a prescription to help my eye symptoms from seasonal allergies.
I would 100% recommend Dr Chiu.

I just had my second eye exam at Optomeyes and just like my first one I am very impressed with their service. They nave a number of special high tech machines that not every eye exam office has and they help give a very thorough exam. This special equipment leaves me feeling confident that I have excellent eye health but if I didn't, they would catch issues early. I can recommend with full confidence, Optomeyes, for your eye health care! And one more thing, my appointments have been on time!

Dr. Chiu Is hands down the best dr on there team. You can tell that he really enjoys what he does and is amazing at explaining everything in terms that you can easily understand.

Great experience. I went for an eye exam and it was very thorough, he even took the time to explain what they look for after a concussion which I am recovering from but was separate to what I was going in for. The staff was all super friendly and helpful as well.

Dr. Shannon Chiu and his team offered a great service. On top of being very efficient and fast, Dr. Chiu took the time to explain the results (imagery, etc.) to make sure I understand everything. I had a very positive experience going to the clinic.

Always a big fan of Optomeyes. They were excellent at helping select a pair of glasses and as someone with terrible myopia I've always had challenges. Best place by far! I've been going to Dr. Chiu for a couple of years and he's excellent. I come from a medical background and appreciate detailed and comprehensive explanations that he is happy to provide.

Amazing service! I was traveling and forgot to pack contact lenses. We called Optomeyes and they had my exact prescription (another optometry clinic in Whistler didn’t have it) and offered them to me free of charge, since they are trial lenses.

We went to Optomeyes for comprehensive eye exams for our entire family. Dr. Shannon Chiu was amazing, taking his time to explain our eye exam results. I give him 5/5 stars.

Unfortunately, the poor staff attitude is where I give 2/5 stars (overall average of 3/5 stars). When we asked for minor adjustments to the glasses and made small requests, the staff spoke with attitude ("Are you sure you need that [adjustment]? ") and condescendingly ("You can clean the glasses yourself"). The store was not even busy at the time. They acted as though they did not have time for our (albeit small) requests. Management ought to re-train or closely examine their staff's attitude and customer service.

Outstanding service, the doctors are professional, knowledgeable and caring. One doctor stayed late one day to check a sudden change in my field of vision- he saw me immediately even tho it was then end of the day. Recently had an eye exam with Dr. Davidson. She was efficient, helpful, easy to understand, and friendly. She took time to explain the changes in my eyesight and gave me some things to keep an eye out for in the future (which I had never heard about from previous optometrists). Love her demeanour. Would give my experience with her 5 stars.

Only giving 4 stars because I was seen 20 mins late, and I was 35 mins late for my next appt - I'm sure due to COVID protocols, but then the clinic should spread out bookings if this is an issue. Also, I picked out new glasses afterwards but wasn't really given guidance in terms of which ones I should be looking at in terms of price, or women's/men's styles, etc; I had dilated pupils from testing so was really having trouble sorting out what I should be looking at. Personally I had already done some 'shopping' online prior to my appt so I had an idea of what style I wanted, but I'm sure not everyone does that.

Optomeyes was very patient and helpful with both of my kids at their first eye exam. I would definitely recommend them!

Nothing but good to say about this clinic. Following our move to town, my daughter was in need for a eye exam. From check in to check out the practice was extremely professional and accommodating.

After some thought, my recent visit felt like a huge sales push. I know each eye clinic wants us to buy from them but when I asked for my prescription I was given it and later realized that I was told "don't get glasses with that". Which makes no sense. Been seeing Dr. H for a couple of years and she is very thorough with explaining all aspects of the eye exam which is helpful for understanding the health of the eyes. The front desk staff are all very helpful and welcoming especially Erin.

Has been my place for consistent, top-notch eye care for decades so thought I would include my next sunglass purchase to the list of successful transactions. I wasn't disappointed at all. Danielle and her Team were fantastic in ordering in the right size frame in no time at all. And the price was right in line with my budget. My eyesight is very important to me and I have never had bad service. I am very confident my eyes are always in good hands at Optomeyes.

Over the years I have visited a number of places (including the US) to get my eyes checked and this place has been by far the best. They have a great crew and a very modern setup. Appointment is done easily online and also by phone if you need earlier dates. The comprehensive eye checkup has the Retinal camera and scanner which is a bit intrusive but I prefer than the dilated method. I would also like to highlight about Dr. Clark Bowden who in my opinion is the best eye doctor I have ever seen. Unlike many, he is very patient with a great listening skill, which I'm seeing increasingly going down with most doctor's nowadays (sorry not generalizing, but just my experience). I'm from a Service industry, so I know the power of listening to your client which has a huge positive impact. Anyway, my prescription had to be modified few times and each time Dr. Bowden was kind enough to listen to my problem and make adjustments. He really worked to my advantage. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to others. Thanks much once again!

I was having a multitude of eye issues - strain, headaches and found it difficult to focus - so I was worried we'd never get down to the bottom of it.

Dr. Hennenfent spent the extra time to ensure we knew exactly what was going on and paid attention to all the small details unique to my body and my eyes.

Because of her attentive and caring approach, I walked away with the right prescription and frame suggestions to make sure I went forward seeing with my best eyes.
