My absolute go-to for all my art needs. Really wished Meghan still worked there though. I met her in framing and she was literally an angel, always there to help with all of my problems and truly went above and beyond the call of duty each and every time. Anytime I had a question I would call and ask for her and she would walk me through! Really miss having her there to help me but great store and the manager there Leanne is also the best.

Due to the recent move, if something you order online is out of stock you are charged and the backorder doesn't get processed. They are so far behind they aren't answering emails any more. When you order online you have no way of knowing if the items are in stock, so DON'T ORDER ONLINE. If they really wanted to get a handle on this they would shut down the online store until they get to the end of the backlog. This long time customer is very dissapointed, as are many others. They're taking your money and not delivering at the moment.

My recent experience with Opus’ framing services far exceeded all my expectations. From Joe at the front counter who booked my appointment and patiently answered my questions, to Danielle who took all the measurements and assisted in putting everything together. She even made several recommendations such as the use of plexiglass in place of traditional glass and a DIY finish that could be applied to the existing frame. These greatly improved the overall quality of the finished product. Both staff were clearly incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience quick, easy and enjoyable. Thank you!

A wonderful place to shop and try out new art products. It has the best selection of art supplies that you can find anywhere

I've been buying art supplies from Opus since I was a kid. The staff are extremely helpful. I highly recommend them!

Staff were great. Prices are a bit more expensive but that's just a Granville Island thing I think.

Found the underglaze that I couldn't find in downtown location. Bough some oil paint as well. I like the atmosphere at this location.

Really appreciate having an art store with a range of supplies and frames. Always a pleasure to shop. Miss your framer, can't recall his name as he had to leave due to COVID rules. Hope he comes back.

My friend desperately needed a bathroom while going to shop here and was directed to a locked bathroom blocks away. When she finally got back from her unpleasant search in the rain the clerk yelled four minutes to closing and no time to shop. This is after a long drive in traffic to get there. So disappointing, it used to be the main reason to go to Granville Island.

Terrible art store. Bad service and unhelpful staff. Not willing to go the extra when my kids needed help. Poor management. I’d recommend avoiding this store all together.

Amazing place with a really good range of artist supplies. Employees were so so friendly and knowledgeable and helped me find exactly what I needed. Joe and Dani especially really blew me away and gave me some fantastic advice about brushes and paint markers.

The staff are super chill and helpful. I always love coming here. Prices are a bit high but it's to be expected with the high quality supplies they provide.

Great spot for art (and craft) supplies. You name it they seem to have it with helpful friendly knowledge staff.

Great art supplies store will meet all your needs with quality products. ** original review ** Coronaphobic staff, wouldn't let my 5 year old use the washroom that used to be accessible to store patrons. Told us to walk a mile down for one; kid soiled herself on the way.

The original location of my favorite local art supply store.always great to explore, been coming here for YEARS.staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

Great selection of art supplies, paper and various paints. If you love oil paints, I have never seen such a selection of products in-stock. For hobby artist and professional. It's a great place!

A hidden gem in Granville Island. I just happened to pass by here while we were around the vicinity hoping to find sticker paper that I could never find in the general arts supply stores like michaels or staples and was pleasantly surprised to find it here! Staff very friendly and pleasant. They have a huge array of arts supplies that can surely get your creativity juices going.

No customer service today. I went for a gouche sets, pastel pencils, inks and cotton paper. I needed assistance and no one in the isle. I will not go back and will order online now.

Good selection of art supplies. I have been getting my pencils and colours there for a little while. Never used their framing services but the section looks to be well stocked.

Opus is able to customize most sizes of canvas and frames. Large selection of children and adult supplies. Service is personable and knowledgeable.

Not cheap but the staff are genuinely helpful. They spent a lot of time helping me find the correct supplies for my project, above and beyond service. Will recommend to any friends looking for art supplies.

I have been here many times and while they have a great selection of art materials their service is so slow. With COVID protocols I’ve waited up to 20 mins outside with a line at the till once I’m in ready to check out. There really needs to be a way to make art stores more efficient. Maybe more effective training of cashiers or more streamline processes for looking up memberships and quickly bagging the supplies being bought.

I’m a professional artist and can rely on their consistent excellent service and very knowledgeable staff. They always make great recommendations. Their custom canvases are very professionally-made and are produced often within one week.

The parking is a problem but it's worth the inconvenience to visit the original flagship location of this fine arts supply store.

I came to Opus for spraypaint & asked an employee which ones were glossy. She replied they were all opaque. Clearly she had no idea what glossy meant so I asked another employee who tried teavy o tell me that spraypaint only comes in matte finish (even when I showed her glossy spraypaint from another store, she still stuck to her crazy story).
I give up.incompetence at its finest.sigh!

Oh man, what a tonne of great stuff in here. Are you an artist? It will feel like you died and went to heaven. There's stuff in here that I've never seen before or even imagined. My kids absolutely loved it.

I went here when I took a trip to Canada. This place has everything from Posca pens, to Copic markers and Prismacolor Pencils, with amazing prices and awesome service. They even have a booklet so you can see what the colors of copic markers look on paper. I would definitely recommend this remarkable place.

Don’t you hate standing at the till, money in hand, listening to a ten minute phone conversation from the sales dude? Then to get the sale price you’d need to sign up for their emails which takes another 20 minutes. Sheesh!

Pens, paints, and supplies galore with surprisingly affordable house brand notebooks with great paper. Think Moleskine but $4. Worth a stop whenever you're near Granville Island.

I love this place. The energy of the space is amazing and the people working here are wonderful, knowledgeable, and kind. Always lots going on. Granville island is magical. Check it out if you enjoy beauty, art, or creativity. Awesome DIY framing department too. Staff is so helpful.

Super helpful/friendly staff, even when we couldn't find everything I needed. The student discount is the best thing ever and made the purchase much easier on my wallet. The store was pretty expanse in terms of variety and selection, but did not have an easy labeling/categorizing method - making the store a little hard to navigate at times. Overall a good experience here on my quest for art supplies.

As of July 29th this location under renovation/reorganization, but the staff were helpful and knowledgeable amongst the chaos. Thank you! Their website has also been revamped and they have great selection for Canadian artists.

Lovely skyline and bridge view. The place has a market place with fresh supplies and lot of joints to explore fooding options as per your choice.

The staff here are so kind, really go above and beyond helping you to find what you need for your project! Such a great selection to, the place is huge!

This is the chicken coop of art stores. The Victoria store is so clean and welcoming, and I was shocked when I visited the ramshackle Granville location. I was so excited to finally get to see this store but was so disappointed. The people working there seemed pleasant though. The worst part was the bathroom! I don't even want to remember that! Ew! Time to renovate guys!

If they don't have what you're looking for, it's not an art supply and you MIGHT be in the wrong store. There's always someone to help you!

Very nice art supply store with a nice variety of high quality goods. Staff are super helpful. Prices seem to be on the high end.

Walked in with a large frame and a broken glass. Staff helped me to disassemble and we measured for new plexiglass. Then a few days later worked with the helpful staff to install new plexiglas. Looks great. Plus is a do it yourself place with helpful knowledgable, conversant staff.
