Opus Art Supplies North Vancouver

Love this shop. It's a chain which has the benefit of a great website for checking for inventory. But the staff are FANTASTIC! They love making art and love sharing it with others. I'm a newbie and a wanderer and the shop fills my mind with possibilities!

This shop has a good selection of watercolour paints, brushes and sketchbooks. I picked up some paints and other items that are sold out at other shops (yay). They also carry single Princeton Neptune brushes, which I haven't seen anywhere else. I don't use another medium so can't speak for those. Prices are on the higher side but you're paying for convenience.

The staff are super friendly and helpful if you have any questions.

Parking is so easy at the lot in the back so that's a huge plus.

I recently moved back to North Vancouver and I love this new location! The staff was really friendly and the place had the lovely smell of an art studio which I love.

However i did wish that the shelves were a bit more organized, I did grab a few sketchbooks that were the same brand but different sized that were placed in the wrong spot

I love Opus but. This new location it's hard to reach/see more than half the stock. Less than 30% of items have prices. Staff carry on long conversations and ignore customers waiting to ask questions - even when standing next to them. The cashier made 2 separate mistakes. The store has just moved but.needs a lot of improvements.

I really do prefer Opus over other art stores in Greater Vancouver. Now with their newest location right at Harbour Centre (it has been there for 2 yrs) it is way easier to get to than other locations are!

Went in to frame photos I took back in 1989. Staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and helped make my photos look even better.

You can find professional and good quality art supplies here. Which are expensive. But if you are new or learning or are on budget you should find some other place.

The young lady who helped us on March 13,2021 was excellent! My mother and I brought in a water colour painting of the house she grew up in to be framed.

Multiple staff members were tremendously helpful in guiding me through my first (very small) print job, putting in extra effort to make sure that the print turned out well. Their selection of art products is great and the store has a nice and friendly feel.

This place has an amazing range of art supplies, super friendly and helpful staff and a very well organized shop. They now have a wide array of Caran d'Ache pencils, art tools and crayons and a good assortment of calligraphy and fountain pens. Also, a good place to find Faber Castell, Golden (acrylics), and Staedtler products.

Helped me find exactly what I was looking for that I couldn't even find at Michael's. I could be mistaken but I think the employee's name was Steve, he was very helpful and kind. 100% will return in the future.

I like Opus Art Supplies, but this location offers bad service, not unfriendly, but inadequate service.

This store has pretty much all you need for your art supplies. Friendly and knowledgable staff.

In the middle of a pandemic, the staff seek you out to see how they can help. I stood outside in a light rain, comfortable under a thoughtfully provided patio umbrella, while a very apologetic staff member asked what I'd come looking for that day. After providing a rough description, she actually scoured the store looking for the product for me while I was waiting outside for other customers to finish their shopping so I could enter. She provided a few great options that saved me time hunting them down myself. Thank you for finding a way to help in a way most wouldn't have considered. As always, one of the best groups of stores in the Lower Mainland to find art supplies.

This store won't let you in unless you submit to the absurdity of wearing a mask, thus I headed over to Michael's in North Van because they DO NOT require a mask. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Michael's had the Felt Brush pens I needed (and a great selection of all sorts of supplies)! So if you want a great fine arts supply selection WITHOUT having to wear a mask, go to Michael's!

The guy who helped me was passionate about 2d art and showed me how to be a minimalist with top products, which saved money. Quality versus quantity

I'm marking 25 years as a professional artist - that's a long time. This company has been amazing to me throughout my career. I love the staff - I know them all personally. I love the company ethos - I love the tireless support that they have shown for their community. Support businesses that work this hard for your creative growth and your community.

I have always found Opus to have very friendly and helpful staff which I appreciate a lot as I discover new techniques or have questions on any of the products. Opus also has great demos on a regular basis and some good sales to keep an eye out for.

I could nerd out in this place for hours. I love it here. The staff are friendly and so helpful. I had a large image printed here and greatly appreciated the help and suggestions I received from the staff. I’m a photographer and since having my images printed here, I don’t see myself going anywhere else.

Friendly staff, found what we needed prices reasonable. The item we were looking for was much cheaper than Amazon

Poor service.i brought a painting in for framing. The person measured it wrong. It takes two weeks for the materials to get back - they don't do the framing themselves. So I waited 2 weeks for the wrong sized stuff. Then they wasted even more of my time remeasuring. They are training new staff and keep making the new people serve customers, but they don't know what they are doing. I will not go back to this location after they fix their mistake.

Love this Opus just gave it one star less because they don't have as many supplies as the one in Granville Island

Great shop for anyone inclined to create something out of raw materials. Pens, Ink, Pencils, Chalk, Oils, Paint, Paper, Canvas, Markers. The list goes on and on. The staff are knowledgeable about the products and where to start on projects that may stump you. Also, classes available for those who are interested.

Great store, really bad customer service and totally not interested employees. Really long wait in one line up while other people working are really absorbed in their computers. What a waste of the buyers time.

Didn't have the brand of oil paint I was looking for. Super helpful staff. Happy to suggest other locations I may be able to source the specific paints not in their stock. Sure enough I found it where they suggested.

While they didn't have the exact name brand of oil paint I wanted, I did buy my palette knives here that day. They had the shape and sizes I was seeking.

The people staffing Opus are not just staff, they are artists too! Ask them anything. If they don't know, they will call over someone who does. If they can't answer your questions right away, they ALWAYS follow up. I've had an email from them a week later with an answer to a question about varnishes. Fantastic!

I enjoy their sale flyer as it also includes information on events, workshops, artists' talks and so much more than sales. Don't get me wrong - the sales are sweet too! Ask at the front desk if you want to sign up for it.

I love the range of art supplies here! Staff are always happy and helpful, almost always something on sale when I come in. Easy to find and always has parking available.

You can get any art supply here. The staff are very friendly and either help you or give you room the do your own browsing. Been shopping here for years.

This is one of a few art stores on the North Shore. It is located on West 3rd street behind Capilano mall. There is a good selection of art material for artist, also they sell ready made frames and canvas.

Very helpful staff and a vast array of art supplies. I needed to get some zentangle art supplies for a gift and was helped immediately. Excellent place to pick up quality supplies.

They're a good store for art supplies - wide range of products.staff are generally pretty knowledgeable and can help find stuff you need.

Great store and very helpful staff - also offer some art workshops on occasion. A bit on the pricey side but lots to offer.
