Original Joe's Restaurant & Bar

Went in for a late lunch and had excellent service. The place was clean with a casual atmosphere. The food was exceptional (love the coleslaw). There was a minor problem with my order that was promptly and politely rectified. A good experience and I will definitely be back.

Today I ordered the original Joe burger combo and found out that they messed up my order. So I had to go all the back pick up my Ceasars salad. It wasn't busy inside so why? I should've gotten a discount on next order for this!
My vent so hopefully next order will be right.

We were in a hurry and they staff made sure we were not held up with any sort of waits, the service was incredible and food was well priced and very good.

We went for my birthday dinner to Original Joes in Duncan. We arrived around 7pm and it was almost empty. For some reason our dinner took 45 minutes to arrive at the table.

Great service, steak was cooked perfectly in my steak sandwich, liked the local photography on the walls. Will go again.

Super disappointed in our meals we got this evening. Ordered the fish and chips. The fries were cold and not fresh at all. The tartar tasted more like horseradish than anything. The coleslaw had way too much vinegar so didn’t even taste like coleslaw. The fish was good and it was a nice big piece. My son had the spicy crispy chicken burger and said it was okay but his fries were also cold and not fresh. For the price I paid it was not worth it at all.

Our food was delicious tonight! Ace burger added extra bacon and original burger added bleu cheese. YUM! Sam was our server. Service was great, food was fast and hot. Thank you OJ’s Duncan!

Heres my only beef, the booths are small and we're plus size people, so the booths are too small for us and the tall chairs slide around when trying to sit on em. We almost left

They kept getting the food and drinks wrong. It took about 30 minutes to get our order taken in the first place. The mains are hard to enjoy when they aren't the meals we ordered. The appetizers were overdone. The service was at least polite about the mistakes.

We were seated fairly quickly. However after being seated we did not have an interaction with any server for about 20 mins before we decided it was fit to leave (not even water for the table). Was pretty much dead, waiters & waitresses couldn’t help but gossip and text instead of doing their jobs. Not impressed is this normal?

Our daughter treated us to dinner tonight. The creole gumbo was delicious. The fries on my daughter's plate were over cooked.

The atmosphere is pretty good. Hamburger was overcooked and underseasoned. Waitress forgot appy so we cancelled it. Fries were double dipped and oil probably old. Mohito was bland. I was so hungry and still ate half but so awful. If you could take the food from Oak and atmosphere of OJs you would have a fantastic pub!

Sat at the bar for a good half hour before anyone even acknowledged my existence. Complete trash customer service. Possibly the worst ive experienced at this kind of restaurant. You may be busy but at least like acknowledge me or something

Little yorkies - excellent taste and size, brushetta was delightful. Noisey on a Friday night. The roast beef sandwich was really tasty and piled high. As for service, they were accommondating. However the chefs took 40 minutes to bring out our food but worth it. Gave us time to sip tea a N chat

Great place if you like environments with a ton of noise but the food is extremely undesirable and undercooked. I meet up once a month with friends and each time it's the same.

Worst experience iv had in a long time.
Waited nearly a hour for our food, was not asked if we wanted refills on our drinks or even checked up on while waiting and the sad thing is it wasnt even busy. Id hate to see the quality of service when its busy

Thanks god this place exists. We were looking for an open place to eat something but on Monday everything either closes early or it’s closed.
Nice atmosphere, good food, good drinks and very friendly and helpful staff!

Went there couple of days ago, the waitress next to the door seemed bothered with our arrival for some reason, we requested to sit on the patio, she said it's closed meanwhile there are people eating there no problem. Then she completely ignored us and went somewhere and came back to talk with another lady that came after us and took her to a table and we are standing there. After that she cleaned a table for us. Our waitress came to take our drinks and order, brought the drinks fast but after that disappeared for 45 minutes! Food took that long meanwhile it's just burgers, we saw her going back and forth to the other side ignoring us completely, she could've at least came to ask if we needed more drinks or to apologize for the delay but nothing. 45 minutes after she came with our food, my mashed potatoes was barely warm rest of the food was okay. One of my friends made a reasonable comment about the wait time, she goes like " yeah we are very busy right now" not even a sorry! Then the manager showed up, she was nice and said sorry for the wait that's why i rated two stars. It was late and everything is closed otherwise we would've left. Not coming back here if we are in Duncan again!

Requested table for seven on patio. Waited an hour outside. They forgot about us, then tried to seat us inside, but we have two in our party who won't yet eat inside public restaurants due to COVID concerns, hence the patio request.
By the time they tried to seat us most other restaurants were closing for the night.
Manager tried to apologize but she was also kinda throwing her server under the bus.
We left and ended up at Boston Pizza.
Whatever.
I won't return to Original Joe's in Duncan.

The food was okay but the service was beyond slow. Went for a quick lunch, that didn't happen. And they were not that busy.

Our favourite stop for lunch on way back to Victoria from the Comox Valley. Great salads selection.

Service was great. Had the French Onion soup. Hmmm. Perfect cheese, for some reason they used whole wheat bread which made the soup sweet. Meh. Not delicious but edible. Wouldn’t order it again.

The place was clean, the wait staff was very attentive and seemed to care about the person they were serving. The food was really good, HUGE portions for the price.

Too dark and dreary, no customers. Onion soup and margarita way under par for flavours. Will not go back.

Staff was amazing! Given the rain and the few seats they could serve they made sure everyone was comfortable and warm. The Brussel sprouts where amazing! The chicken burger was also fabulous.

Good as always! Try the Jalapeño Mac and cheese! Delicious!

Food was OK, we were sat in a busy area of the restaurant, didn't feel covid friendly. Great waitress though.

The food is excellent (large portions that may require a take away container) and the service and atmosphere are super! Vert clean and spacious!

My husband and I loved our lunch, again! They have a great menu and the generous sized portions are fresh and tasty. The on tap beer, with local choices are great too. The staff have always been cheerful and attentive. What more can one ask?

Great food and we had a friendly waitress which made it good sevice! We will for sure be coming back to dine!

Our server was excellent! I had the nachos they were so good.big portion couldn't finish it was my bday got a free dessert was super yummy tasted like coffee crisp. Wish we could have bought some of there beer to take home.

Usually a fairly safe option to feed my family.

The food isn't awful but its becoming more and more clear to me that it isn't worth the price. I do like the choices in sides for burgers.

Some of their meat tastes like frozen tv dinners though so if that's not what your into avoid the steak and salmon bites.

Service is also slow. Often painfully slow. Sometimes the servers just all seem to disappear. You may even have time while you're waiting for your bill to leave the restaurant and run errands! Or maybe curl up for a nap They do have comfy booths

We’ve been going to this place a lot. Usually nice service but tonight the front end greeting people were aggressive and not very welcoming. Three service people all looking at the tablet while customers were all standing at the door. Then the hostess finally cleared them out sorta rudely I get it COVID thing. We were told 20 mins for a table of two or sit at bar (lol) no thanks so we were confused as to where to sit And wait.we just said maybe we’ll go then told rudely exit the outside patio. Never going back ever!

Just left because almost all the beers on tap were not working for 30+ minutes. All we wanted was some happy hour pints, but nothing was offered in place of the non working happy hour tap beers. Server wasn’t given authorisation to offer anything in place of happy hour pints. Won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.

Terrible service at this location. We went in for the happy hour special which runs from 3-6pm. We arrived just after 5: 00pm and waited for about 20 mins for a server to finally come to our table. We ordered a couple pints from the happy hour menu. The waitress took another 15 mins to come back to tell us that they were having trouble with a lot of their taps at the bar. One of them being the one we ordered. We asked her which taps were working. Another 10 mins later, she came back with a list a of the taps that were pouring. We picked a different beer on that list and asked if they would honour the happy hour price? She said she would have to go ask the manager. Another 15 minutes passed and still no beer and the server at this point was just standing by the bar talking to other servers while the East Indian owner was hiding in the kitchen. Happy hour was now over. We left, and we won't ever be back.
