Just a heads up - This kennel is currently infested with rats. There are rat feces everywhere and the conditions are quite disgusting. Cannot confirm if they have rid the building of the infestation, but I would advise to not have your dog kenneled here until they have removed all contaminated materials. I currently have a BCSPCA investigation underway to determine if this is considered inhumane animal living. Humans can't even enter the premise without wearing masks as the smell is so purtrid. I'd be very concerned about the animals health being in there.

I will prefix this by saying that the front line staff here are fantastic and helpful. Now, my dog was viciously mauled in mid-April (2023). He did not instigate this and was attacked when being put out (as per staff). They were unable to get the other dog off and had to get help. When I was notified while on vacation, they were as devastated as I was. They genuinely cared and were emotionally affected. My dog was treated and taken care of by PNWK. He had upwards of (x60) stitches in several spots, and a canine-tooth was torn out. See the pictures for yourself. This was a horrible attack. My dog has been a blood donor and St John's therapy dog for years. His temperament and demeanor are indicative of these acts he does for other dogs.

The issue I had was following up with the kennel management (Eddy) after this incident. This was to try and sort out some questions I thought were important. I had never had to deal with such a thing before. 1) My first item was that the offending dog and owner be held accountable and reported to animal control. If my dog had been smaller, he would have been killed. If they could not report this, then I would be willing to. 2) Can a tooth be replaced with an artificial one if needed. Are there any dentists they could recommend. The offending owner should be liable for any costs if this was an option. 3) Can the Veterinary Hospital send the documents to my dogs vet for follow-up as needed. Specifically for wound management and removal of stitches.

Again, staff who I spoke with were fantastic in responding to my emails and phone calls. But there is only so much they could address. Eddy never responded to my emails to have a meaningful dialog about my concerns. My biggest one was that this dog was still allowed near others and had not been reported. After months of continuously reaching out, I gave up. PNWK could not be bothered to help me sort out some simple concerns.

Eventually, I found out that replacing a tooth would not be necessary. I'll have to report this dog on my own. Finally, my vet was never contacted to be provided any charts. Needless to say, I have been forced to find an alternative kennel. I appreciate the wonderful staff at PNWK. But the follow-up, or lack thereof, did not leave me in a position to risk my dog being attacked again, and the issue be ignored. I can no longer recommend them as a kennel based on this experience.

Previous review: I've been taking my dogs here for years. Exceptionally nice staff who are always friendly. Dogs are tired when we pick them up and are happily exhausted. Prices are fair and for the quality of facilities and staff, well worth it. When possible, they post adorable pictures of all the dogs staying with them. This includes my boys, which is nice to see when following up. I would recommend this kennel without question or hesitation. They have always been worth the commute.

Great kennel for dogs with any sort of behavioural issues. They know how to handle all forms of reactivity. They have large spaces for your pup. If they need to stay separate, totally fine. 100% recommend if you need someone you can trust to handle your reactive dog while you’re away

I'ved used this Kennel a handful of times with my late pitbull. To be honest, I previously did not leave a detailed review other just 5 stars because they are so excellent here and in-demand.

Not many places are able to provide daycare, extended stay, and even grooming services for either large dogs, or those at risk of displaying aggressive behaviours. They are compassionate and provide limited spaces for any size or social capability of canine.

I felt extremely at ease knowing my dog was in their care, and he was always happy and calm when I'd come to pick him up. They were totally fine with emails or calls to check in how he was doing, and provide optional services such as toys, treats, extra walks, etc for those who wish to avail.

I highly suggest you read all the information on their website about the specific type of boarding the provide, and know that they definitely deliver on such.

I want to give big thank you for the staff and volunteers for the respite they provided for my dog while he was still with us. The service you provide here is amazing and much needed for people who otherwise feel they would have no resources.

This is the only kennel for me……… I’m a long time time customer but only recently have I realized how valuable the folks at Pacific Northwest are. I had a family emergency and needed to book my dog in with no reservation, this was during the holidays when they were fully booked. They were very accommodating and made room for me at a moments notice.
During a prior stay last summer my dog had a slight accident and needed a stitch in his ear. The staff were extremely professional and handled the situation promptly and with great care. I was overseas at the time so it could’ve been an anxiety ridden situation for me had they not been so attentive. They were in constant contact with me while they took my guy to the vet and got him patched up. These people genuinely love their clients dogs and it shows. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Mac our Golden Retriever loves coming here! The staff is very professional, friendly and they care very well for their guests. I trialed quite a few places and PNWK is the best! It is a bit of a drive for me but well worth it!
