I have been a patient at Pacific Oral Health Centre for many years, following a recommendation from a friend. I have always received the most professional, kind and considerate treatment by every staff member at this excellent practice.

Dr Pavitar is a knowledgeable, kind, patient and caring dentist and gives excellent advice, explaining all the options and ramifications of each treatment.

Harkirat is an extremely gentle, kind and efficient hygienist and a lovely person.

Ritu is an exceptional front office staff member who is efficient, helpful, caring, and her bubbly personality makes every visit or phone call a pleasure.

I recently had a new partial denture and the week after it was fitted I was away from home and unable to go to my denturist for an adjustment until the following week. I came home at the weekend and my gums were extremely sore and painful. On the Sunday afternoon at 3: 00 I was getting really desperate and called Pacific Oral Health. I begged the receptionist to have any professional remove it for me. Within half an hour Dr. Pavitar fitted me into his busy scheduled and was able to remove it. What a relief! I was so very appreciative of the special care they gave me in my hour of need.

Other dentists in the area speak highly of Dr. Pavitar and Pacific Oral Health. It is one of White Rock/South Surrey's best kept secrets!

Also, the receptionist, Ritu, makes the environment very friendly. She’s very sweet and caring. Keep up the good job guys.
27 February 2023 8:23
I have been going to Pacific Oral for roughly 4 years now, the level of care that they provide has always been incredible and surpassed any other dentist I have been to. General anxiety had made me fear going to the dentist but they have been transparent with the care they are providing and continue to make sure I feel comfortable at every appointment.
17 February 2023 2:05
I have been going to Pacific Oral Health Society for last 8 years. I always had wonderful and fulfilling experience. I have tried other places as well but was never satisfied. Well mannered, trained and exp staff. I would highly recommend.

I really appreciate everything this clinic has done for me. They’re very helpful and nice. I’ve had no problem after my procedure. It’s very cost effective to people who don’t have insurance, they definitely saved my pockets.
08 November 2022 4:47
Had major cavity couldn't sleep for 2 days and had major headaches these guys are lifesavers the dentist was really good brown dentist wearing glasses he told me either riot canal or tooth extraction. I went for tooth extraction great dentists even hygienist was good. Great dental place 5 stars
11 September 2022 3:37
When I went to the dental centre was greeted warmly and felt at ease. The hygienist did her job beautifully and prepped me for the doc. The doc examined my teeth, and advised me of what work had to be done. He said that because I am a dialysis patient, I would have to have a release form signed by my GP, to ensure that none of my meds would conflict with the dental treatment, then he would set up app'ts to start the dental work. I took the form, had my GP fill it out, and sent it to the Centre. Within a day after that I received a call from Centre advise that tedoc would not be working on my teeth. When asked why, she said that he changed his mind. I was so upset. When I asked further, she said it was because I was on dialysis. He doesn't do dialysis patients. I asked if any of the dentists there worked with dialysis patients and she said no. She told me I would have to go to a specialist. I was shocked. When filled out the initial forms, it was clear that I was on dialysis, yet they still examined me, took x-rays, and billed me for the services. And yes I paid.

I am a senior and on fixed income. I can't afford to run around paying for examinations only to find out that I am not a suitable candidate after they take my money.

I felt mistreat and disgusted.

I had a very pleasant experience. Went in for a wisdom tooth consultation and the Dr offered to extract one right away. Froze me up, took one out and cost me $275. He was happy to answer all questions honestly and was a great, caring dentist. Affordable care andStaff were friendly!
24 December 2021 13:18
I have been with this clinic for so many years. But lately I had noticed everytime I came in always had set me up with the same Hygienist. I have no idea why she has always been doing the work. At first kept asking me if I brushed my teeth everyday. What a stupid question. Kind of bullied Hygienist.and the Dentist as well.
17 December 2021 15:26
On Wednesday Dec 1 2021 I went for three tooth fillings, service was good, dentist was nice and courteous and the price was reasonable
19 November 2021 6:04
The place looks great, it's my daughter's first day to learn dental assistant. A practical application is carried out after a week of theoretical study
20 October 2021 13:38

12 October 2021 15:11
The staff here are helpful and efficient, and they are always accommodating to financial or personal problems. They’ve saved me a lot of money!
08 October 2021 4:39
Came here in May, thinking it would be affordable since its practice for UBC students. The dr only looked where I said the tooth chipped, didn't look at my other teeth, which I thought was odd. Had 2 x-rays. I wanted it extracted. Dr wants to save the tooth, told to get a filling, but wouldn't know how long that would last, after if the filling would come out then it would be a root canal and if the root canal didn't last than an extraction. I'm not working right now, was told to leave it how it is, come back when I have a job. And if I wanted extracted that can be done. The whole appointment was less than 10 minutes. I agreed to cost that day of the exam & x-rays, I still believe it was too much. Staff were great it was just that Dr, I can't even remember his name. It did feel like it was all about money.

** Update - reply. I still have the appointment/business card from my appointment. The bridge work has passed its warranty. Not expecting anything from the clinic. Except, share my experience. Thank you. **
I had a ceramic bridge done there a while ago. The dentist was helpful and very patient with me. But, the bridge wasn't cheap without dental insurance. The good thing is the clinic offers no-interest install payments on approved credit cards. Unfortunately, the ceramic on the bridge chipped after a year. It shouldn't have happened. Hence the 3 star. Good luck and stay healthy.

Truly a terrible experience. Had 2 fillings before Christmas. Within 2 months, one fell out exposing a large hole. I wasn't able to even drink water because the pain was excruciating from having an exposed nerve. I called right away with my whole filling in my hand and was offered an appointment for 2 weeks time. After much persistence, I was given an appointment that day and told "This is the last time. We won't do this for you next time"

This was the first time I had requested an emergency appointment and I was appalled that there was an insinuation that there would even be a next time, let alone that I had somehow "wanted" the dentist to give me a faulty filling. No empathy for MY situation or the disruption to MY life, being unable to eat or drink. Absolutely no apology made.

I arrived and was given a temporary filling. I wasn't aware it was temporary until it was done and had expected it would be a new filling without a repeat visit back to the clinic. I later received an email from my old insurance stating that they had tried to claim for this filling! They had not made me aware or asked me to sign anything. It's ridiculous that I should have to pay when it was their mistake it fell out and their choice to only do a temporary filling.

I returned to have the new filling placed and was told by the dentist that some fillings fall out because they may not have dried the area enough. She admitted it was her error.

On both occasions, the dentist became frustrated because she had to inject me 3 times with more anesthetic. I could feel everything and she was impatient for it to work and heavy handed leaving me with jaw pain for 3 days afterwards. I have never felt any pain after anesthetic and this experience has left me with a new fear of dentists. Someone drilling into your tooth and you can feel it on the nerve is absolutely terrifying. Worse than childbirth.

It's now been 5 months and my second filling on the other side is coming loose. I have pain when I eat and now have to go to another dentist to see if they can fix it. This place is allegedly cheaper than others and I urge you, pay the $30 more and go to a decent dentist. It cost me more money in return trips here than it would have cost to just go to a more expensive dentist and get it right the first time. You get what you pay for.

Dr. Aman kataria is very knowledgeable and very good at his job. I got my tgree wisdom tooth extraction and few RCT's done and lots fillings done too. He is so good at his work i didnt felt any pain or discomfort. I used to be petrified of the dentist but now I have no problems going. In fact, I'm so motivated that I look forward to my cleanings and check-ups. Dr. Aman kataria and his staff are very caring and understanding and put you completely at ease. I've told a few friends already about this clinic and will keep spreading the good word!
21 November 2020 3:13
I went to see Dr. Aman Kataria and we had a very positive experience with him today. He explained the procedure very well and made me feel very comfortable throughout the procedure. He has a very calm demeanour and so does his assistance. He not only wants to do what is good for your dental health but he also wants to meet the needs of the customers. I was very nervous before the procedure as I had over 10 teeth that needed to be extracted prior to getting dentures, he completed the whole procedure in under one hour and I did not experience any pain at all. I commend him for his professionalism and his efforts. I will be back in January for a followup before I can get my dentures.

I would recommend him to anyone.
16 November 2020 16:13
Had a very great experience. Excellent service done by the staff and they treated me with fair and respect.
13 November 2020 9:03
Honestly, I have to give this clinic full 5 stars! I was extremely happy with the friendly, service and care that I received by all staff. The place was spotless, modern design and comfortable. The waiting room is amazing with so much view to look at outside. Dr Pavitar was patient to give me a pain-free experience; and even went the extra mile to polish a high spot from a previous filling elsewhere, and did not charge for that. The prices were very good, they did not pressure me in any way to get extra work done, and the discount for not having insurance was the best I could find. They will give you the prices over the phone so you know what to expect. They are open on Sundays too! It was an overall very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend them.
24 October 2020 12:25
I had an amazing experience as a new patient, Dr. Aman and his staff are very professional, and very friendly, explained me precautions i have to do after my wisdom tooth extraction. Excellent service and support from ladies at front desk.
16 October 2020 21:03
I had an amazing experience with Dr Aman at Pacific oral health society. He was very considerate & explained the process thoroughly as I was very nervous as it was my first wisdom tooth extraction! The front desk staff was also very professional! I would highly recommend this clinic for their reasonable, honest & professional services!
23 September 2020 9:29
Very poor skills. I went for my wisdom tooth extraction. He did not explain me the procedure In The beginning or in the end and did not gave me any information.what kind of precautions do I have to take? How many stitches I got? How much pain I will be having? Its been more than a week I am still having strong pain killers but no relief.very poor communication skills no clarity to patients. Till date its been almost 2 weeks no follow up call from doctor's office about the condition.no concern about the patients health though I have been twice to the clinic for pain. I don’t recommend this doctor to anybody.
12 September 2020 7:10
A month ago I had a root canal done in this clinic, and the procedure was quite painful. I was charged for a 4 surface filling, whereas it was at most a 3 surface one. They also gave me a quote for the crown then, but today when I arrived to install the crown, the price went up to almost twice the original quote due to "lab fees". What a waste of my time!
11 September 2020 11:19
Rude receptionists, needs mental health checkups, filed complaint, mananagement did not admit their staff fault, make stories, filed complaint to dental association of BC.
07 September 2020 0:35
Got me in on a Sunday so that's always nice but still a little too expensive when you are low income.
04 September 2020 1:21
3-4 years since my grandmother had her dentures done. They extracted all her remaining teeth and told us that if she needs adjustments they will do so. After going 2 times, they tried to charge us. Until this day, she cannot eat properly any food and the doctor said it would take a year or so for her bones to heal. She hates wearing her dentures and was ripped off because she still cannot enjoy food. I regret taking her here and feel it is my fault for trusting this place. And what do you know? A year ago Alberta Blue Cross contacted me via letter to get permission to use my files to investigate the clinic for fraudulent charges - dentists can submit any codes they want to your insurance provider and say you did visit them and did certain work. Will follow up with AB blue cross to see what they have said.

Made appointment for my husband and daughter, didn’t tell them our insurance didn’t cover what they did till after the fact.i have read lots of reviews from this so called less than 30 percent than other dentist I guess u get what u pay for.we will not go there again meaning my family which is 4 of us. There is one thing I say every respond to negative reviews the down play it.my suggestion is quit be dishonest and ripping people off saying we 30precent less but in actual fact u make it up by telling people they need this or that and then causing fillings falling out when at a real dentist they tell u exactly what needs to be done and u teeth don’t have problems after. Thank u for nothing but taking our money.
30 December 2019 7:21
Dr Aman wad very rude to me. It was not first time he is doing rude to me. He has anger and talked very loudly. He must must treat his anger and train how to treat and respect to the clients.
12 December 2019 6:04
Had a very simple filling done here exactly a year ago. Was surprised that the whole thing took barely ten minutes. Now a year later the filling is falling apart on one side.
15 November 2019 2:11
Amazing staff, friendly and very professional! I highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need of dental work.
27 October 2019 5:15
I have genetic alveolar bone loss and Sjogren's Syndrome, which have caused frequent abscesses and infections over the past 15 years. At the time of the visit to Pacific Oral Health Society, my concern was a painful dental infection causing jaw, sinus, and earaches, which had rapidly progressed and required wearing a dental tray at night and pressing the gums with a warm cloth six to eight times during the day in order to minimize the swallowing of infected material.

Because I had cleaned my teeth and gums, including oral irrigation and applying heavy pressure with a cloth, immediately prior to the visit, no infected material could be seen originating from the gums during the exam, though they were inflamed in two areas, with swelling and evidence of a fistula in another. My concerns, observations of a spreading infection, pain, and request to treat the infection were therefore categorically, brusquely, instantly dismissed by Dr. Aman Kataria. I paid the bill and left without any treatment, treatment that I required and deserved in order to find adequate relief and healing.

That many women have experienced medical practitioners dismissing, misdiagnosing, or cluelessly shrugging at them is, unfortunately, nothing new. Their narratives invariably follow a particular arc: the doctor or dentist who waves a hand and says, “You’ll be fine, ” or “That’s just in your head, ” or “Go home and take an aspirin. ” They follow an ominous three-act structure, in which a woman expresses concern about an issue; the medical practitioner demurs; later, after either an obstacle course of doctor visits or a nightmare scenario coming to life, the practitioner reluctantly acknowledges her issue was real and present the entire time.

Until visiting Pacific Oral Health Society, I’d always been treated with respect and diligence by professionals who were good listeners and care providers. Gender bias in the medical and dental fields can, and often does, have serious and dangerous repercussions. In my case, ignoring the symptoms did not make the infection go away, despite the unconditional dismissal I received from Kataria.

To gain actual relief, I visited hospital emergency the same night after sudden onset of facial swelling, fever 38.7° C, low blood pressure BP 88/64, and high heart rate (HR) 110. My WBC was 14,000/mm3 with this differential: bands, 34%, neutrophils, 56%. I was prescribed non-narcotic pain relief and a prolonged antibiotic course to prevent potentially serious complications due to a severe oral bacterial infection.

What I needed – and what every patient needs, regardless of their sex – from Pacific Oral Health Society but did not receive, was a dentist willing to listen, empathize, and work with me to minimize pain and the spread of infection, and arrest further damage to the supportive structures of the teeth, while identifying the most appropriate treatment plan to address the underlying condition as best as possible. I would suggest giving this clinic and this dentist wide berth, and instead seeking the competence, conscientiousness, consideration, and compassion of another dentist or clinic, if at all possible.

I called to book an appointment for someone who is low income (because as their website says, they provide access to oral health for low income people) and as I was explaining the very dire need for oral care the woman on the other end was robotic and uncaring.

Typical "Uh huh, yes I see" "Ok book (insert amount of appointments here) and we will see what we can do but it will cost you (insert thousands of dollar amount here) "

When argued that they do not provide oral health for low income people I was then met with a yelling woman on the other end of the line who disallowed me to verbalize that their advertisement was not only false but she was robotic and uncaring.

This person is in excruciating pain with possible out of control infections going on in their mouth and I was discarded, yelled at and told they will not help a low income person obtain proper oral care (even though their website states this).

I recommend this place either change their advertisement or shut down.

Rude and incompetent with a receptionist with the vapid attitude of a dial tone.

Response: I am aware this is Not for Profit, however, on the website it states numerous times that you are dedicated to providing oral care to low income people, including to those on disability. I find this information false as no one with low income can meet a few thousand dollar bill with no payment plans offered.

I left my information that day so I could speak with a manager and I STILL have not recieved a call back.

I will not be making any appointments or coming to your free screening. This clinic is a joke and a complete waste of time and space.
16 September 2019 8:49
They are not, as their website declares, dedicated to providing access to dental care for low income, or vulnerable people.

Trolls masquerading as healthcare providers.
30 August 2019 1:36
This is a first class facility with a first class staff. I couldn't have been happier with my visit to POHS and will certainly be going back!
09 August 2019 4:54
My experience was very bad, during the filling Dr.damaged my nerve which led to root canals of two teeth and put me in such a pain for couple of months and my problem was not addressed properly and ultimately I have to see specialist, which has costed me double the amount and when I called them they kept on putting me same dentist.
10 July 2019 21:54
My wife and I had a very good experience with Pacific Oral Health Society.
The staff were very polite and knowledgeable.
I like to thank Rita the Clinical Coordinator, she was amazingly helpful and courteous and a wonderful person.
I would highly recommend this clinical for their honest, fair and professional service.
31 May 2019 14:14
I have attempted to use the online appointment booking several times and have recived no response
11 May 2019 16:07
Very polite and helpfull staff docters taking good care of patients this was my third visit and always returned happy.fees and charges very affordable
02 May 2019 2:44
The clinic itself is very nice and new but the dental services are subpar. My son had a filling done on his molar and it's fallen out 3 times now.
28 March 2019 4:58
I came here because it is walking distance to my home.
But now that I have read some of the reviews I'm scared. I just got some fillings done and it did feel rushed and they were not as gentle as the services I have been provided with at other dentists offices.
I hope i dont have the same problems as other people have. I have never had a filling fall out and now that I have read reviews I will be more concious about it.

I am giving this place 3 stars because they were nice and were somewhat thorough with explaining what they were doing. I'm not going to lie im super worried now.

One month later.
I was in pain after the fillings I had done here so i went to my original dentist and found out one of the fillings wasnt just a cavity but I needed a root canal procedure. Which I found surprising since they took xrays during my exam because I was in pain and told me it was just a few cavities. So I have lowered the rating from 3 to 2 stars because of this.
The other 2 fillings seem ok right now hopefully there won't be an issue with those later on.
It's so important to see a proper dentist who knows what they are doing and it's incredibly expensive if you do not have coverage.
I honestly find alot of businesses especially with healthcare around here just trying to make quick money without putting any effort in or doing their job efficiently.
