Amazing area for running right in the midst of a vibrant urban setting. My wife and I have run all over the world, and PacifIc Spirit Park is among the best places I have been to go for a run. Trails are well maintained and marked, and you feel like you have left Vancouver behind the minute you step into the tall trees and ferns here.

Park was awesome. Beautiful walk. So much room for dogs to run around. Trails were well marked and easy to follow.

I grew up near this park in the 80s and 90s and now visit just a few times each year. Kind of sad that parts have essentially turned into dog parks (dog walkers far outnumbering other users for sure). Most dogs and owners are well behaved but every jog through the park there are a few that jump towards me (especially dog walking businesses with large groups of dogs off leash). Haven't been bit yet but I'm waiting for it! Definitely would be a turn off for small kids and others nervous around aggressive animals.

Pacific Spirit Park is Vancouver's verdant oasis, offering a tranquil escape amidst ancient trees and winding trails. However, its splendor is compromised by the glaring issue of unleashed dogs. Despite clear signs, many dogs run unchecked, unsettling both people and wildlife. The occasional, yet alarming, incidents of aggressive dogs biting only amplify the concern. To preserve the park's essence and ensure safety, it's crucial for dog owners to adhere to the rules. A must-visit, but be aware and hope for collective responsibility.

The Beachfront is nice and relaxing. Not as great as Spanish Banks but also less crowded. Very rocky so watching your step is important. Worth seeing if you're in the neighborhood

It's located next to UBC in the Westside Vancouver. 10 mins drive from West 16th and Burrard St. There are over 30 trails with washrooms scattered throughout the park. It's very dog-friendly and you cannot get lost because of the many signs and exits. Some trails are off-leash and some are not. Some are not off-leash on weekends. Lots of tall trees and it smells really good in the morning. Most of the trails are flat and some are on a slippery slope but I still just wear my loafers. Half of the trails are shaded.

I love it here. Its because the park is near everywhere. Like schools, restaurants, residences, beaches, etc. And the tress here are massive!

I can’t say how much I love coming here. It’s so serene (mostly) if you hike in the morning. Most trails mixed and can comprise of gravel but also natural soil. You hear construction noice when you’re close residential areas so you may reconsider if you are looking for quiet and relaxing walk. Trail has bags for owners to pick up after their pets.

My favourite park in Vancouver to walk my dog - it’s bautiful, big and it´s off leash area. Love it there

Pacific Spirit Park is located in the eastern part of Vancouver, where a whole network of hiking trails has been laid on an area of more than 750 hectares.

The atmosphere of a mysterious forest is available right in the city!

Parking can be done on the side of the road near the entrance. It is a quiet forest path that is good for a walk.

Being an avid hunter of off-leash dog areas in the city, I love that Pacific Spirit Regional Park is dog-friendly. The entire park is not off-leash, however, and I did notice several other park users that were not following the rules, which could potentially cause some risks for unexpecting cyclists. That said, I've noticed the presence of park rangers, which is reassuring in maintaining the park's cleanliness and safety, which is a first for me.

One of the park's standout features is the clarity of its trail signage. I've never found myself lost or confused thanks to the well-marked trails, which makes visitng more enjoyable and stress-free. I also appreciated the convenience of the washrooms scattered throughout the park.

Getting to Pacific Spirit Regional Park is always a breeze. The park is a short 10-minute drive from downtown Vancouver, and for those relying on public transportation, several buses pass by the park near the University of BC. It's this easy access, coupled with the park's natural beauty and the off-leash trails, that makes Pacific Spirit a gem within the city's limits.

Despite the park's popularity and the number of people and dogs that visit, Pacific Spirit Regional Park has consistently offered a peaceful atmosphere, making each of my visits a delightful and refreshing experience.

Overall, Pacific Spirit Regional Park is a sanctuary for nature lovers and a fantastic place for pet owners, offering a diverse range of trails for various activities. It's well-maintained, easily accessible, and provides a much-needed respite within the city.

The air in the forest park is good, and there are many woods, which is a good place for leisure walks.

A famous hiking park in Vancouver, the forest is still in its original state and it is a very popular natural park among Vancouverites.

Relatively easy hike and quiet on a weekday. Love the tranquil of the the forest and also the adorable friendly off leash dogs that I saw at certain parts of the trails where dogs are allowed to go off leash! For those who are afraid of dogs, do take note.

Pacific Spirit Park is as beautiful as it is big.   I only explored a small part of it on the northwest corner, near UBC Wesbrook Village.   The condos beside the park, on Bennington Road, are 20 stories high (I helped build them) and they are just a little taller than the trees.   Those trees are huge, to say the least.

There are miles of trails if you really want to do some serious walking.   I walked down the Douglas Fir Trail and then came back on the Sword Fern Trail.   It was a really nice day for a walk, with lots of sunshine.   But it was also a Saturday and the trails were busy, so keep that in mind.

Some trails are walking only, which is very nice, because then you don’t have to deal with all the bikes and other wheeled devices.   However, one thing you can’t avoid is the small army of dogs which seem to outnumber the people at times.   Most of the dogs are off-leash so be prepared for a lot of dog encounters.

I got jumped on by a very excited dog and was thoroughly sniffed and slobbered on, but I didn’t get bitten.   Which is a good start to any canine relationship, and most human ones too.   I actually thought the dog was happy to see me and I was feeling pretty good about myself until the owner said the dog was just looking for treats.   That was humbling because I got rejected by a dog and now I have muddy paw prints on my jacket to remind me that I’m a loser.   It was a “Curb Your Enthusiasm” moment.

Overall the Pacific Spirit Park experience was positive and I think everyone should check it out.   If you’re into photography then you should definitely check it out because there’s a lot to see.   It’s really nice to have green spaces like this in the city and we need more.   They’re good for your physical and mental health, and good for the planet as well.
