Purchased 4 sol-go 115watt solar panelS and had lafabrica sew zippers on them to attach to bimini.upon connecting, one panel is faulty, zero output. After several attempts to contact Jake at PYS, i receive an email informing me to contact SOL-GO. Terrible customer support and service. Please read my review of my previous experience purchasing giocco panels from PYS. Finally, They offered to sell me 4 panels to replace giocco, at a reduced cost.i went for it and this is the result.

I have been using the excellent services of PYS for almost ten years on a myriad of electronic and electric work on two Catalina sailboats that I have owned over the years. The work included the installation of solar panels, chart plotter, radar, alternator, batteries, a battery monitor, and the revamping of the electrical system on both boats. If you're looking for a cheap fix, don't contact Jeff or any other of the professionals at PYS. What I have received each and every time from PYS is great advice, timely work (very important in our short boating season), professional installation, and great after sales service. You may be able to save money with some of the other service providers out there, but that won't help you when you are out of power in the middle of the Straight or when you are moving closer to the rocks and your chart plotter goes dark. What you get with PYS is great value for your money! I highly recommend them.

When I decided to upgrade and modernize the electrical system on our 1986 Albin trawler, I soon realized that I was in over my head. I watched many of the videos on the PYS website, which were helpful, but the best decision I made was to consult with PYS. Lyle drew up a plan for a new electrical system to fit our boat and cruising style. Every step of the way he was there via email or zoom to answer questions and give expert guidance as I upgraded our boat with a large house bank, battery to battery chargers for starter and bow thruster/windlass batteries, a solar array, high output alternator, inverter/charger, and a battery monitoring system. We are on our first cruise since the installation. Everything is working better than I expected and I'm confident that the system was done correctly and will be safe and reliable for many years to come. Thanks Lyle and Jeff. I hired PYS as consultants on a major electrical project I was undertaking over the winter to look over my designs and make sure I was using correct wire sizing and fusing. I did all the work myself, but I always had Lyle and Jeff there via email or phone to help me when I had questions. In the end, the project was a huge success and everything worked first time. I am also confident it is safe and robust. They were very good and I will use them again in the future.

I decided it was time to upgrade my 17 year old Raymarine electronics on my Commander 30 Yacht. I chose to do a full renewal using all Garmin products. The company was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning with appropriate advice about what to buy. The installation was definitely a challenge, getting all the cables and wiring from main cabin to the bridge and radar unit. The amazing part was the wonderful job the technicians did to install the products. The quality of their workmanship was definitely five star. Jeff and the crew at PYS have recently completed the install of a Efoy 210 fuel cell complete with a Victron battery monitor. We also had PYS supply and install a Spectra VT-150-D water maker. Jeff was really helpful with his suggestions and determining the requirements for electrical demand and fresh water consumption on our Ranger 31. We also had PYS trouble shoot our Garmin autopilot and calibrate our radar. We are so pleased with the quality of workmanship and for being on time for scheduled work. The crew of Tried & True want to give a great big shout out to all the crew a PYS for their assistance with these projects and would not hesitate recommending them.

I had Jeff and his crew do a number of projects for me ranging from adding new stereos, replacing/upgrading my battery bank, isolating my start/house/genny batteries, adding an inverter and diesel heat to more. I’m OCD - so not easy to live with and my boat had to be significantly opened up to access it’s recesses. The projects were significant.surprises are expected. Jeff and his crew are not only exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled but absolutely dedicated to satisfying customers. Everything was done exceptionally well and when issues arose their only goal was how they could make me happy - and they did. They went over the top at times working late to meet deadlines - which sometimes seemed tight - just because of the unexpected. I can’t say enough how impressed I am with all things PYS. They are definitely my “go to” people for anything. One of the projects was a new tank monitoring system they installed for the 1st time. They figured it all out and made it seem easy. Over the winter we worked with PYS to complete extensive upgrades to our AC/DC and Navigation systems on our new-to-us Commander 30. All along we were very pleased with the responsiveness to our many questions and the quality of the work. We now look forward to many seasons of comfortable, safe cruising.

Jeff designed a 525 Watt system for our GB42 that works fantastic. I have not used the generator once since we installed it. We were at anchor for a week in late August and had a full recharge every day. Thanks Jeff its a great system.

Installation of solar panel - I used PYS to install a 100W solar panel on a sailboat. From start to finish the experience was excellent from product advice to the installation. Last season on my sport fishing boat was not much fun due to a house battery (2 years old – high end flooded deep cycle marine) that wouldn’t hold a charge or work the various electrical components very well. Had to be careful not to bring both downriggers up at the same time and we really didn’t drop them down very deep. Also using the raw water pump or fish tank pump was touch & go. Have built this boat over many years and have lots of electronics – 2 sonar/chart plotters, radar, dual VHF radios, auto-pilot, ipod player etc.so lots of power requirements.

When Jeff was in Calgary teaching an electrical course, I was able to ask about my house battery situation. He recommended installing a battery monitor to see what was happening and also the more powerful FireFly 12 volt battery. So I purchased these items and installed them this May. Came back in August to go fishing and the house battery was still fully charged. First day out, we watched the monitor and started increasing our fishing activities – with both downriggers coming up from 150 feet, the wash-down pump and the fish box pump both going and all electronics working, we did get the battery down to 99.4 % capacity and it was charged up to full capacity in a minute. So we went deeper with the downriggers, checked the gear much more often and basically had a drastically better fishing adventure. So at the end of our trip, the house battery was still fully charged. Many thanks to Jeff for the suggestions that worked so well.

PYS did a lot of work on our sailboat before we set out to explore Canadian pacific coastline for 3 summer months. They installed radar, water-maker, signal booster, solar panels, and did also a bunch of smaller jobs. Overall we are very happy about the work they did - they were more or less timely, responsive, solution oriented (Jake was great!), and honest. We'll request their help again for next summer. Jeff is an opinionated person, but he is responsive to reason and evidence. He wants to earn your trust and will work hard to have it. Our experience is quite positive overall.

Some of the wisest decisions I have made while dealing with my 35' Wauquiez Pretorien have been through Jeff and the gang at Pacific Yacht Systems. I first contacted Jeff to arrange for an electrical audit of the vessel. We were blessed to have purchased a vessel that had seen expert and professional care to that point. However, Jeff was able to sniff out a couple of irregularities that we immediately addressed. He also developed a to-do list, ranging from the "encouraged" to items more on a "dream list". A season ago, I utilized Jeff's expertise again in planning the upgrade to our solar charging system. This was a mostly DIY project; however, Jeff's staff made the whole process incredibly easy. They prepped all the connections for me, and made numerous helpful suggestions and tips. I've seen lots of dialogue online in the monthly PYS newsletters that attest to the huge jobs Jeff has done for so many boaters; but that doesn 't mean he is "out of reach" for the little guys!
