We had a great tour to Vagas Island with just four people plus guide. Our guide explained a lot to us. It was incredibly fun to ride over the waves and the views were great. We even saw a wolf on the island of Vagas, which is said to be rare:). Highly Recommended!
We greatly enjoyed our experience with Paddle West and would definitely recommend it to others looking to experience Clayoquot Sound in a kayak. Alice and her colleagues did a great job of catering to different levels of experience and explaining the wonderful sights of the area.
We did the 4hr coast kayaking tour from uclulet.we had a great time scenery was lovely! We seen a bald Eagle, sea lion, star fish, our guide jaimie was super friendly and knowledgeable was a lovely morning kayaking thanks Jaime
We were two friends who did the kayak to Meares island. I was a bit grumpy with the thought of starting it in the rain and being 5 months pregnant but it was delightful. Pace and length of paddle was perfect. Even in the rain they give you high quality equipment and rain jackets if needed.
We saw both sides of the area - magical mist and clear blue skies in the afternoon from the water. Paddled by a kelp forest, otter, seal, sea lion and then the beauty of the tree trail. Having a guide is so much better than getting the boat because your guide goes onto the trail with you and explains the history and nature. Fantastic! If you get J you are super lucky like us!
Exactly what one hopes for when thinking of sea kayaking. Perfect water, signature Tofino moody Misty warm weather, knowledgeable guide, star fish, stalked by sea lion duo, scolded by crazy house boat lady, wild cows!
I was on a fantastic 3 day sea cayaking trip. The guides Alys and Lauren were fabulous, kind, knowledgeable! The area we paddled was simply stunning. I‘d do it again, any time.
Absolutely amazing kayak experience in Tofino! Our guide Gwen was very friendly and we learned so much from him during our tour. The scenery was gorgeous and I highly recommend getting out on one of their kayak tours during your time in Tofino. 10/10 recommend for gorgeous views and a great time out on the water!
We had an amazing time on our kayaking tour around Meares Island! Our guides were knowledgable and personable. They shared a lot of history and information about the land and sea. We also saw lots of wildlife - bald eagles, starfish, clams! It was well worth it for a beautiful afternoon on the water.
Went on the night paddle recently to see the bioluminesence and it was magic! The guides were friendly and professional, we were well equipped and the whole experience was just amazing - definitely recommend!
We had a fun time paddling with Paddle West Kayaking.
Our guide, Gwen, was personable and funny. He was quite knowledgeable of the islands surrounding Tofino and their history.
The kayaks themselves seems to be in good condition and all water safety precautions were followed.
The 2.5 hour tour we took was quite paddling-intensive. Even with a two person kayak, we were quite exhausted afterwards. This would be a good experience for people with a reasonable amount of arm strength.
Enjoyed a very peaceful 2.5 hour inlet tour. Our guide Gwen was superb, full of knowledge, and really made the tour much more fun than it might otherwise have been.
They were also very happy to try to accommodate us in moving our tour due to a delay on our whale watching trip the day before, though ultimately we were able to stick to the original time agreed.
We are family of 5, we took the 2.5 hours tour. It was fantastic. The guide was very good and patient. Paddeling was easy, and the view was breathtaking. We saw some animals on the way, seals, otters, eagles, and more. Highly recommended!
Just finished a multi-day kayaking trip with Paddle West, led by Ryan and Jess. Comparing this trip to self-guided trips I've taken in the past I can say I saw a lot more interesting sights and ate way more great food! I now know a lot more about the natural and cultural history of the area than I did before the trip. Having that context enriched the experience immeasurably.if you want to test your paddling skills in a safe, supported environment I suggest you give Paddle West a try. If you want lasting memories of one of the most beautiful places in the world, go with Paddle West.
Our guide, Sam, was personable, knowledgeable and friendly. He readily shared his knowledge of the area, the trees and the ecosystems. It was clear that he loves the outdoors and protecting the environment. We would definitely book with Paddle West Kayaking again should we return to the area.
