Pak Punjab Sweets & Samosa House

I’m really annoyed at this place. Been a regular here for years time but lately their service and quality is going down.

I ordered 2 pounds of veggie pakora ahead of time. Arrived 45min later because of traffic issues and still had to wait 15min. I also saw they only gave one sauce. One sauce for 2 pounds. One container.

Before it was 1 red and 1 green per pound.
I asked for a green chutney. The guy charged me. Then he told me they combined the green and red sauce into once container. WHY?

Did I ask? No. Did anyone ask me? No.

They’re different flavour and heat levels. Why combine two? I want separate containers of each and should have 4 chutneys in total.

I also shouldn’t be charged for sauces that should have been separate. That wasn’t my request and it wasn’t my mistake. Customer shouldn’t have to pay.

Also store is very cold.

I was never a big fan of samosas while growing up in India, but this place does know how to do them right.
The only issue is their lack of warmth and customer service skills, but I’ve made my peace with it.

The customer service was disappointing; the elderly lady had a negative attitude, continuously filling the box without considering our preferences. I wouldn't recommend this place to others based on this experience.

The customer service was really bad, the lady was so rude, I ordered one plate of aloo tikki and she gave me aloo pakoda when I asked her she didn’t even came out to talk, the helper old lady was nice but other lady maybe she is the owner was very rude. The aloo tikki was not even tasting like aloo tikki.

We bought nashta without halwa as it was too early for them to make it ready. Instead of puris, we got thiccckkkkk pathureys. And quite expenaive as compared to nearby Lahori sweets whose nashta is far better than this one. Jalaibis were not fresh too and oil smell was there

Worst service and the lady started dialing the numbers after hearing about the samosas are sour and stinks…… they don’t know how to speak with the customer………. Will never recommend this place …… worst place…. Cheating the customers …. If I can give less stars than this, I would have done this.

Pakoras are amazing! You should 100% get them. Perfect texture and full of veg, not just batter. Huge varieties of methai and all of them are so good. Samosas are good, little bit bland, def could have more spices in them. The sauces are delicious.

If you’re in Surrey or even just passing through, and your craving some amazing pakoras to satisfy your need for crunch and snacks, you gotta go here! Highly recommend!

Very oily, come in a cheap paper bag instead of a box for a dozen, and the old lady is so rude, she don’t listen to what you are asking and she didn’t like me asking about if there’s any box instead of this cheap bag, the receipt have no items just total. I gave the 2nd star coz it tasted good.

Very poor quality food. Ordered Samosa plate, expensive small serving bland. This restaurant sucks!

Very poor customer service. The lady was very rude and kept on disconnecting the call without even taking the order. Not recommended at all. I would give negative is possible.

The food is always good.but since last two times the lady at front behaves so bad. She doesn't even know the meaning of politeness. So harsh. She must be taught customer service. Not gonna return to shop just due to her. Really bad

I would give this store negative stars if I could, after my experience.
The woman in the front, a grandma, was very rude and unprofessional.
We bought sweets which were cold (which is understandable) but didn’t taste fresh. They tasted bizarre. And this is coming from someone who’s been eating sweets from this store since childhood.
Upon calling the store we were told to bring the sweets back for an exchange. So I did.

The old grandma publicly embarrassed me by opening the box and showing it to everyone in the store as if mocking and doubting not just mine, but my family’s complaint that the sweets tasted weird.
She told me multiple times to “make sweets yourself at home if you want them fresh” and that I “shouldn’t bother going to stores to buy sweets”
Shame on her.
I most certainly won’t be buying sweets again, from THIS store.
I told her I didn’t appreciate her rude behavior and she didn’t have to make those mean comments, the man behind me also told the woman to calm down. I refused a refund and left the box of sweets there as well because her behaviour reduced me to tears.
My dad came in to speak to the woman who suddenly began to act nice. I’ve never met such a fake and lying woman in my life.

Furthermore I fully intend on filing a complaint against this store, and requesting a kitchen inspection as this isn’t the first time there has been a problem with freshness.

I’m disappointed in this store, they lost a long time customer today.

We have tried veggie pakora from so many places in and around Delta up to Fleetwood. We don’t mind the drive to here because Pak Punjab makes huge pakoras for one, loaded with aromatic spices, cilantro, spinach, onion,
Potato. They are the only ones that load up the pakora with lots of vegetables and flavour is spot on. The value you get is awesome. Everywhere else you get lots of fried dough with onions and some piece of potato. You must get your pakoras here! Bonus they are gluten free as they are made from channa (chickpea flour).

Lady at front, no care if someone waiting Inside shop. I bought veggie pakodas, which are too big in size and not fried properly. I have to cut these in pieces and fried again at home. Please do care your job

Food ok, service is seriously messed up, I ordered 10 somosa on the phone and told me pick in 15 mins, show up 15 mins later waited patiently behind 2 guys and they order somosa too but they got their order almost right away when It comes to my turn "oh sorry, we have your order to someone else" gesturing towards the guy that just left, "is 6 ok? " Seriously messed up, what was the point of me calling then.

Ordered roasted barfi. The lady packed old dried barfi. Tasted so dry and chewy! Not everything they have is fresh!

Food is okay but don’t bother ordering ahead and expecting it to be ready on time as it seems they lack a concept of time.

Ordered a day ahead for an order to be picked up and let them know we were ordering ahead for an event. When we arrived for pick up our order had not been started. No urgency or apologies.

With the abundance of competitors near by I would highly suggest trying somewhere else!

We have had this concern twice with their food products now and already called them about it. They seemed to not care at all and dismissed our concerns. We explained to them how the food had visible uncooked wheat or flour, whatever they use, still in it and that we had a guest complain about stomach pain after eating the food. We assumed it may have been a one time thing, but again this time we bought their pakore and the same thing, our whole families stomachs were hurting after eating their food. Upon further examination it can be seen that it was raw from some parts. We also bought a previously packaged item from their store today and after eating and everyone's stomach hurting, we decided to see the expiration date, and saw that the item expired Nov. 8 and it is now Dec. 7! I am in shock with the level of carelessness they have. We DO NOT recommend this place to anyone and advise you to be careful with any purchases you make.

Only problem is they are not very friendly or the customer service is not the best.

Service is soo slow. I ordered 10 Samosa’s and she said it will be ready in 20minutes but when I reached there after 30 minute she said wait 10 minute more and she was very rude with every customer!

My family and I have been going here for about 20 years now. In the beginning, they were great, the quality was nice, the service was good, but now?

The quality has dropped, the food isn't as crispy, but kinda good nonetheless. The service however, is abhorrent. The owner lady is extremely rude. They constantly forget pieces of our order, and when we kindly request for the fix, she angrily fixes it, like it's our fault. Sometimes when the chutney is definitely wrong, and when I point it out, she doubles down and pretends like there's nothing wrong with me.

Today, the quality of the samosas we've been having for literally years was not good, so I mentioned that, so she spoke in her language angrily and just told me to "Go, " giving back the change and pointing to the door.

TDLR: food is good when the order is right, but service is actual trash.

I love this place. I love their samosas and sweet selection. However, recently their quality has changed. Not sure if the owners have retired or have gone somewhere but their samosas quality and the chutney aren't the same. Its still good, but could be better. I think the children's are taking over or something. As goes with the jalebis, I recently got them and the quality wasn't the same. It had the same crispness but it had too much food coloring that I could taste when I had them. Im still gonna come to this place, but I hope the owners can take over with the cooking again as their food was the best.

Delicious samosa at 80¢/piece. Other sweets available. Limited dine-in space. Outdoor plaza parkade. Accepts credit, debit, and cash.

The samosas and sweets are very good but the customer service is not good. The receipt is not offered in the end and if asked, it is frowned upon. Also the lady was continuously talking on the phone while dealing with the customers. Need improvement in customer service.

The owner Lady very rude and greedy. Charged me extra $2 for adding another small one piece of sweet.

I was treated rudely by the woman at the counter. Oddly the customers in front of me were treated nicely. Not sure what I did to deserve it because I was very polite. I'll never go back. There are many, many places to get samosas were i'm treated kindely. I work customer service and I always treat all my customers as equals.

Today my husband bought some samosas, they were very tasty! We bought 10 but I wish we bought 20! Keep up the great work! Eid Mubarak!

While the sweets and samosas are good, the customer service is horrendous. Anytime the lady in front says anything it feels like she is yelling at you, regardless of what she's saying. On top of that, they weren't wearing masks or enforcing them inside the store, super unhygienic.

Today@6: 30pm I called to order 12 pcs samosas, but lady on phone said they don’t have samosas. While going to store we decided that we we will buy sweets instead. When we reach their store that had fresh samosas. While ordering sweets just for curiosity I asked about samosas and lady told me yes she has but she said why you canceling sweets as I already put In box. Then lady started in her own language that he wasted my box which I understand their language and asked what did you said this. Long story short they are so rude and mannerless. Will never step into their shop and never recommend my family or friends either to go their. WORST people and WORST customer service.

The only reason I give them 1 star because there food is look. The attitude of the 2 ladies is OMG. Yes I understand you own a business but you need to respect your customers as they are the ones you have a business. We ordered samosa and Aloo tikki and green chutney. They charged for it but when I got home they mixed the green chutney with termarind which was nasty n they gave me less Aloo tikki. If I am paying for thing I should get them all. They will never leave a penny so they should be giving me what I ordered n got charged for

Mouth watering samosas and delicious paneer pakodas (muh ch ghul jande ne) and chutney is amazing.excelling taste.they should have a separate seating area as bringing samosas home kills the crispness.
And "Pak Punjab" guys stop upselling your chutneys.you give so less chutneys that customer has to buy extra and you know that. Dil punjab de naam wangu wadda rakho

Owner lady is very rude.i visit there 2 or three time she Is looking and expected all customers pay by cash.

I didn't actually go inside but the besan and barfi are very rich and it reminds me of matei in India.

Some food pdts are tasty, but much more spicy than our taste and full of oil especially samosa and pakoras in comparison to other sweet shops.

Tried some of their sweets. Barfi, qalaqand and kaju barfi are great offerings and taste very authentic just like from Pakistan.gulab jamun though was so so!

Favourite vegetarian samosas - anytime I drive through the area, I stop in and pick up a dozen or two to take home and share.

I absolutely love this place, I will not go anywhere else to purchase Samosas they are the best I ever tasted.if you find your way there you also will not be disappointed and you also will agee with me.

Best samosa place in all of Surrey. I would order samosas in bulk whenever there is a party.the sauce that comes with the samosa compliments the taste really well. Quality of the sweets can be a little better. Well maintained

I love sweets! When I feel happy, then I always come here for the celebration. I like their India buffet and overall good experience. Excellent service!

The samosa's are really good. I had a taste and kept coming back for days.
I love the crispy and yet slightly soft shell while the insides are warm and very tasty. Buy extra sauce when you get more than 3 pieces. The sauce is really good but they give it in small dipping sauce kind of package. So it's usually not enough.

Staff has been rude every visit; there were good reviews so i thought i’d give it a few chances but i’ve been disappointed every time. This time i went in, ordered 9 samosas and the cashier offered 7, i said i didn’t mind waiting. We paid and waited 15 minutes outside. When we came back, they tried charging us again. We ended up resolving it but ended up getting 7 old samosas. Not going back again.

I really like the samosas here, at $0.75 a piece they are a bargain. Even cold leftovers they are good. Haven't eaten anything else here.

Very nice mom and pop place with great food and reasonable prices. We came for poori chana and it was exactly the great flaky Pakistani poori and not the thick leathery Indian kind.

Hoooooolllly $h*t! These are the best and most UNDERRATED samosas in all of Surrey, hell Van city. The pastry is perfect flaky/crunchy but not dry. The filling is incredible, I usually prefer beef, but the potato veggie is so friggin good. I had a family member in the hospital for a month so I would come here often to grab food and now I still do.

I would rate this place a 0 no customer service at all.wanted to dine in there so all the tables where not cleaned as there was dirty dishes and used napkins.literally saw him use one the used napkins on the table to wipe it down. I was waiting for him to come bak and spray the table and wipe it down properly and he never did so I asked him to wipe it down properly he said oh you want me to wipe it.lol wow

Samosas here are the flagship of this place. You won’t believe the number of samosas they sell every hour. Really nice auntie will always treat you with respect and most of the time your order is made fresh

This is actually a response to the user below me "Ash". You don't sound believable at all. First of all you say you were charged $10.50 but say you paid $4.50 and were charged extra $6.50 for the channa, well that adds up to $11.00 not $10.50 and do you expect to receive channa for free? Moreover, you complain about prices being a little bit extra for dine in.well let me remind you that every single restaurant in the world does that so why does this place bother you? And for the quality, service and cleanliness of this place they have the cheapest prices around and if you dont believe me then go look around for yourself. Secondly, the fact you mention another shop and specifically mention their name in CAPS and say you've never been there yet you know they charge $. 50cents makes me think are you trying to advertise them and possibly steal customers by spreading lies and false information. Get your facts straight and actually make sense before you try to downgrade a small business who make an honest living.

Sub-standard service level, high fluctuating prices, Extremely rude at times - of course the kids working the cash register at times, being second generation, realize their service levels being an issue however I can empathize with them as in their culture going against ones' parents is extremely difficult, even if they are causing others any issues or harm.
My take is that they have made enough money that they truly don't care about the customers any more and customer has become a mere number for them.

Very bad experience and deficit of trust in this shop, the price of the samosa is 0.75 cent each. I purchased 6 Samosa which should cost $4.50 When i came home and accidentally checked the amount deducted from my C/C was $10.50 I called the shop and the phone was ruthlessly banged on the face this is their hospitality when called the second time a lady picked phone and was apologetic, but later she replied in Negative and informed that I charged $6.50 for the small pot contains the Channa.
It is a sophisticated way of Betray and Fraud. Imagine when u eat the same in shop it will cost u 0.75 cent but when the same thing u take as a parcel will cost u $6.50 extra. It is indeed a Deficit of Trust & a modern way of Plunder. Upon inquiry from friends I just came to know another new opened shop opposite to Punjab Sweet Samoosa. The quality taste and among all rates are much reasonable with hospitality touch which is much higher and dignified according to the community people. The Name of the Newly Opened Shop is " PUNJAB DHABA " I have never been there But I will go there the samosa rate is 0.50 cent each. Money is absolutely not considered for entertainment It is the "TRUST" which once shattered never come back. My humble submission to the community and people visiting them "Please Please. Must check and ask the price of every single item before payment"

Samosas are very yummy. They make them fresh when you order unlike a lot of other restaurants. Price is very reasonable according to the quality and portion size. Some of their sweets, for example burfi, are very delicious. We come here often and it is our go to place for samosa. However, customer service is most of the time not welcoming.
