Went to the one in tsawwassen mall on Dec 5th and the two guys were extremely unhelpful, Sat there talking while I was looking at the hockey cards and didn’t come over until I asked for assistance and that took awhile before he actually came. At check out I tried giving him my email to get some points but he said he doesn’t do that here which seemed pretty weird. $340 worth of points would’ve been useful

I live in Calgary, and have ordered online from Pastime a few times now. Very happy each time. Everything packed perfectly, and shipped out in good time! Would certainly recommend!

Don't waste your time! Not kid appropriate with owner barking orders to his disabled staff in front of customers.

Some of the best prices around especially during promotion sales. Extremely busy with extra temporary staffs are nice. However there a few times where the temp staff didn’t calculate the discounts properly specifically the bogo50 off items.

I went here a couple weeks ago, and this place is atrocious. The quality of items were, well not for that price! Messy shelves, and worst of all rat dropping all over the floor in the corners. And The staff here, wouldn’t leave me alone especially the one with the blondish grey hair, and blue eyes kept staring at me. Needless to say you’re better off ordering on aliexpress.

I unfortunately did not get to spend much time at the Langley location when I visited in March, and lacked space in my luggage, but their prices are good and I have ordered from.them since. Shipping was quick, selection is good. I'll buy from here again, and hope to visit longer the next time I'm in BC.

Nice little stuff. Very clean and organized. Lots of Magic and Pokemon cards along with sport collectibles. Very nice and friendly staff.

Genuine scam artists. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE! Super deceptive advertising. I purchased what I thought was a panini hobby case considering it listed “20 boxes, 1 pack in each box, and 6 cards in each pack”. Little did I know that they literally scammed me into paying 300 dollars for 1 box rather than a case. Why would you list “20 boxes” in the configuration but then charge 300 for one box? Terrible customer service as well, did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue

Ordered a box of 1988 fleer baseball with 36 packs when I received the box it appears to have been opened and only 34 packs are in the box with 2 packs missing have emailed them twice with no response i just want my refund they had no problem emailing me when I purchased the box since then no reply from seller i think the 2 missing packs they opened found the best cards then sold box with 2 missing packs thinking who ever bought the box would not notice but i did not happy with pastimesports. Purchased the Pokémon Charizard Ultra Premium Collection Box from this store thinking it was priced at MSRP. I realized later that they sell products at crazy SCALPER resell prices and I requested a refund. They denied my request saying it’s final sale even though this is not clearly stated on the receipt. Shop elsewhere and don’t give any business to these scalpers.

Really has almost every type of collectable / gaming stuff. So many different areas that has to limit selection (eg warhammer) but wow.

Visited this store twice and had rather unpleasant experiences both times. My first visit 2 staff members were having a long chat about partying and dating under-aged girls. I hope they don't talk about these sorts of things with kids in the store. They also offered zero customer service and were just tucked away in a corner chatting.
My second visit I was looking through some bulk cards that were literally laying on the table. A lady approached me and asked if I needed help and I said "I'm fine and just looking". She then proceeded to glare at me for 10 seconds to where I asked if I was not allowed to be looking at the cards and she said "no". So I said sorry and put them back in the box. Perhaps if cards are not for customers you shouldn't leave them out in the open and instead of glaring at customers to get your message across try opening your mouth and letting me know. During this visit they were also streaming a card opening session which was horrendously loud and over the top. I get it for viewers and what not, but is there no where else in the back to do it? It really made it a bit irritating to look through the store with all the yelling going on. Also like usual zero customer service and the staff seem incredibly stand-off'ish. They have lots of products but I certainly won't be coming to this store again.

I called the store regarding a trade in question, the girl who answered the phone was very condescending and rude -4 stars. I won't do business there now.

Wow. If you love card collecting this is probably the best place to get them. Super knowledgeable staff with a great selection and a fun rewards program too. Very addictive.

Old school, crowded hobby shop, with that old paper smell, and the occasional out of print treasure. I always enjoy swinging by when I'm in the neighborhood!

A good variety of cards and board games. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. My children are card collectors and the staff are very patient with them. They answer all the questions and never rush them out the door. I appreciate that despite their age, they are treated as costumers. We will continue to come back.

Like another reviewer recently mentioned; people skills are needed if you work in retail. None of the staff except maybe 2 of the guys are friendly here. The girl who works here in particular needs to get off her high horse and give up the attitude. I’ve easily spent over $1200 in the past 3 weeks here since brilliant stars released. When I ask a question about a discrepancy between shelf price and what an item scans as, you don’t need to be rude. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience with her, but it will be my last. She’s beyond ignorant when dealing with customers, it was nice when she wasn’t there for a few months. If you hate your job that much, don’t do it! Believe me when I say you will lose a LOT of business if you keep her working there. Most card collectors I know are genuinely good, down to earth people and I have nothing but good things to say about the guys here, but it’s sad when my wife agrees that this woman needs to be fired.

I contacted them requesting follow-up for box break because I've not received the cards, but they've not responded at all over a week.
They don't seem to know how to deal with such a case and they tend to
keep on ignoring the matter. Really disappointing and frustrating.
All the businesses are nice when selling, but this business is really awful when dealing with issues of troubles.
Look at all the positive reviews and they are all selling, but none when dealing with troubles. This business is just a big bully.

I love going here with my boys. We've only really regularly been to the Langley and Tsawwassen Mills locations. Langley is a bit stuffy, but it serves its purpose. The staff are usually fairly friendly. On occasion, they are a little short and come across as rude and grumpy. But it's usually pretty busy in there. I'm sure they are a little tired of getting the same questions day in and day out. But that's the nature of this business. My son loves watching their sports card breaks. Not sure if they could pull it off, but my other son would love Pokemon breaks.

Their prices are higher compared to other stores across Canada (Ontario, Zephyr nearby) even with shipping included. Usually one can find a hobby box for $50 cheaper online from Ontario with %7 less tax and those stores offer free shipping with $150 ish worth of spending. For those of you from BC, specifically the LMD, don't base your pricing off this store. It's generally 10-15% inflated vs finding it from another store elsewhere in Canada.

Yes, it's nice to support the local guy, but c'mon, $50 more for a hobby box vs somewhere else in Canada? What's your justification?

You know what I mean Ken and Hooman. I've bought 2020-21 upper deck artifacts for $169 plus tax and shipping from Ontario for waaaay less than your store ($249 before tax)

Good place. Aisles are pretty narrow and the store feels cramped, but great selection of board games and cards. Would definitely recommend.

Might as well get some PS5s and sell them for $3K each. Everything is extremely overpriced here. They sell things for at least twice the retail price as well as prices you can find online. Stay away from this place. They're just a bunch of scalpers with a store.

Decent selection in mtg singles decent price. In town they are not the best in either price/stock but they have decent stock at fair prices. Staff is friendly and helpful.

UPDATE: I wrote this review in the evening and by the next morning the money owed to me was refunded. Sad that it took a negative review to solve this but at least I can move on.

ONLINE SHOPPERS - AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

On May 13th, 2020 I bought three Canucks jerseys online from Pastime Sports. When I made the purchase, I used Apple Pay and I overlooked that store pick up was selected when I finalized the transaction. Being that I live in Calgary this was not possible and Ken (the owner) did a good job of recognizing my mistake and contacted me within an hour of my purchase to confirm if I intended to pick it up or have it shipped. This is where things go very wrong.

When the product I ordered arrived on May 25th two of the jerseys were blanks when they should have been Horvat’s. You think this would be an easy problem to fix oh no I tried using every method possible to contact them including:

Good luck getting any response. Only after I called the Langley location did I get a hold of Ken “The Thief” Richardson and after giving me a sob story about being busy with his kids he agreed to take the product back to be exchanged but I would pay for the shipping and he would refund me. Fine a little unorthodox but I wanted to move along the exchange quicker. I sent the jerseys back to him on May 30th and I tracked it until it was received by Pastime Sports on June 3rd. Two weeks have now passed and again Ken has gone dark he won’t reply to my emails. I told him I am no longer interested in an exchange and I want a refund for the two jerseys because I feel he no longer deserves my hard-earned money/business. I would send back the third jersey as well even though it is what I ordered but if it is going to be this difficult I would rather save myself the hassle. If you go into the about section on their website they claim that “customer service is our top priority! ” I guess that only applies to their in-store customers. I now have to dispute the charges with my credit card company because Ken will not process my refund. I think it goes without saying I will never purchase anything from Pastime Sports again.

Something I want potential customers to be aware of is as of today (June 16th) if you try to click on the Shipping & Returns section of their website it links back to the homepage there is no information available on what their return policy is. I am not saying this is true but it’s almost as if this company is going bankrupt because of COVID and has just thrown their customer support out the window. Add in the fact that someone left a review that the Horvat jerseys are fakes and I am starting to think maybe the blanks were sent to me on purpose and they hoped I would just be happy with what I got. Sketchy site, sketchy owner, AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Not helpful at all, today I came in all the way from Agassiz to get me some new O pee chee Platinum, the sign said open, 4 pm, it was pouring rain, I asked Young man/ worker at door, 5 minutes later he answered, "yes they have some", I asked how much a box? Then he went back in for 5 more minutes, (I figured he would know price from my initial inquiry), I agreed so he told me I had to buy it online with my debit card in my hand in the pouring rain. I tried to go online but I didn't want to have to set up account (receive spam mail, or pay for shipping, US rates and/ or other hidden covid costs) when I could have just bought it right there on spot, it was over 100$ (not cheap), I saw boss at counter ignoring me.so I said forget it, your loss. I was mad never going back, told friends and family as we are all big on hockey. I have never felt treated so badly like that before.so cold.guess they don't need business after all.

I was happy, I was able to shop online during covid 19 at this store. There was an issue with our order but Ken did a great job in solving the problem. I'll likely shop her again sometime.

They had an item in store that my wife was having a difficult time finding. Even though it wasn't in their online ordering inventory, yet, when we called they jumped right on it and it was available and ordered within five minutes. We then drove over and picked it up curbside, the whole experience was a relief.

Best place to buy sports related merch! I recently purchased a couple of jerseys (check their site they've got a few great deals right now!) as gifts from them during this COVID pandemic. With their doors closed to the public I revisited, walked up and knocked on the door to make an exchange for a different size. The young guy working was ahppy to greet me at the door and was super helpful. He didn't make me feel like I was being a bother to him making him get up and answer the door for a simple exchange. Great service!

I recently begun collecting warhammer again and I could not be more thrilled that I chose this store to do it! I have mainly dealt with an employee named "Hunter" who was incredibly professional, kind, caring, educated and together but I also dealt with a few others there briefly and I can say absolutely nothing but good about everyone. The store is clean and organized. The prices are unbeatable. The online shopping is flawless. The store is in a really easy spot to get to with tonnes of parking and the location is really vibey. Clean, professional, precise and perfect! This is easily a 5 star for any collector/hobbyist/gamer! 100% worth the commute! See you guys soon! Thanks for making this such an enjoyable experience!

An excellent example of why brick and mortar are disappearing. It's tough to support local and to give business to your FLGS when they don't care about the foot traffic coming in, don't know their product, and don't care if you buy. Do not get angry at people for buying on Amazon if you won't take care of your customers.

Great place to relax and enjoy a hobby. No sales pressure and no obligations. Staff is quite friendly and shop has great variety of both sports and non sports collectables.

It’s sad to see where this place has gone, this used to be the hottest location for Magic: the gathering tournaments and sports card drafts in the area but over the past 3-4 years has been sliding more towards a dump with next to no friendliness from employees and an over-crammed retail space run by a greedy man named Ken who cares nothing about his customers satisfaction, but rather how much money he can make off of said customer. It’s really sad to se a place I once called a second home and a place I grew up in reveal it self as not so great.: (People should know about these things before going here. You can definitely go and see for yourself but hey maybe they’ll read this and re think how they’ve been doing things.

Charming classic collectibles game store with everything you'd want at an establishment like it

Went in for the first time the other day. Introduced myself to the owner, Ken, and inquired as to how business was at this location. This is where it gets weird. Ken proceeded to tell me that there was NO market for Sports trading cards, despite having an entire store full of said merchandise. He told there was ZERO market in his store for Pokemon/Magic the Gathering cards, despite having sections of his store dedicated to both. He then proceeded to tell me there was NO market for Marvel/DC/Comic cards, so at that point I didn't even bother asking if he had the Marvel set I'd come in looking for! I guess he just fills his store with Sports/Pokemon/Magic/Superhero cards for display purposes, but not actually to sell because "there's no market for them, not at his store. " My money and business will be taken somewhere they at least take their own products seriously.

Went in and stood at the counter with my boyfriend for like 20 minutes and not one out of the three employees behind the counter acknowledged us or asked if we needed help.kind of important when the pack of cards I’m looking for is behind your counter, no?

This is not the first time this has happened to us at your Langley location.

I went to this store today and tried to purchase a card they had in their display case. Upon my attempted purchase I was told they have to price check the card and increased its price by 15$. What is the point in having listed prices if they are subject to change on purchase? Is the objective to disappoint customers? If this is the objective then mission complete. No other store in the lower mainland has done this to me 0/5

My daughter and I joined Wednesday night board game play. It starts at 6 and ends at 9pm. It's free, they have snacks to purchase and there are great friendly people to enjoy board games with. We will be back. Glad we found this place. There is always room for more players so come on down. Oh yeah they have a plethora of games to purchase as well as sports cards and memorabilia.

For some reason I never have a good experience at the Langley store. Today I decided to write about it with the hope that they will read this and improve, because they really do have a cool selection of things. The service here is so so so terrible. We walked in and noone even said hello even though two employees looked directly at us, it was just this awkward silence. This happened the other two times I have been at the store as well. Anyways, we went towards the back of the store and some guy sitting there (who at least said hello) acted like he knew what was going on but when we asked him a couple questions all he said was "I am not the owner, so I don't know, " instead of asking around and figuring out the answers to our questions. We went back to the front to ask the employee and I politely asked her if they had a card in stock and she went "maybe" and kept doing her work, then finally went on her phone to ask the owner and walked away. We thought she would come back soon but she did not come back at all to give us an update so we left after 10 minutes of just standing there. Noone here ever knows what they have in stock or is able to help when you ask for something, they just direct everything to the owner, which is fine but gets annoying for the customer to just wait there until the owner replies. Overall, she was very rude as well which made us not want to stay. Please improve your service and be more friendly to your customers, I will never come back but maybe you can save another customer by simply being nice and helpful.

Huge selection of everything you can think of in here. Tons of shoe boxes, top loaders and one touches for display and storage and the treasure boxes are pretty sweet also. Hard to not spend all your money when visiting here haha. Looking forward to my next visit.

A great place to go with friends and play board games with. They have tons of tables and it's mildly popular there so there's a good chance you'll meet someone with similar interests. They have a decent D&D selection & a fantastic Warhammer section, including dice, paints, brushes and accessories.

When games are being played here.very little room to walk around and shop. Staff are friendly and helpful but unsure at times what they have in stock.as it is overstocked to the brim. Dark and old inside.

Friendly and helpful service, lots of hockey and baseball cards and some good deals in the clearance section. There seemed to be a lot of different games and collectibles other than sports, in fact probably a larger portion of the store is dedicated to things other than sports.
