I'll give them some credit - the pandemic made things very difficult when I first started my fertility journey in 2021. Appointments were far out and wait-times were unpleasant, but it was expected. However, this year I began to feel very uneasy with this clinic. The communication was always lacking; phone calls ignored, not returned, emails not responded to, and medical information was not transferred back to my GP. My gut was overwhelmingly telling me not to continue with them; they aren't trust-worthy. I never felt any value as a patient. I missed multiple cycles & therefore chances to conceive earlier this year due to the sheer inability to contact anybody at the clinic, and after a lot of consideration, I decided to take a different route.

I am pregnant now and so thankful I didn't stick with this clinic, as I fear it would've taken many months or years more to jump through their hoops and pay their incredibly high fees. The few staff I'd actually been able to contact and talk to were very kind, but overall, I'm understanding now why my GP originally suggested to go to Olive instead.

We decided to move to a different clinic as we felt we weren't receiving the patient-first style of care we were hoping to have. I recognize that this experience is very subjective and what works well for one patient may not work for another, without discussing medical reasons these were the following factors that led us to switch:

In 4-months, we never met our doctor in person or on a video call. Our appointments were always phone calls scheduled for 20-30 minutes. They felt rushed and we were unable to build a rapport with our doctor and felt as though we didn't have enough time to ask follow up questions during the appointments. Asking us in advance if would would prefer video or phone calls would have improved our experience.

Our hope/expectation was that we would have received access to our consult notes, follow-up resources, and a treatment plan that was tailored based on our test results and goals. Reviewing our results was always quick and we didn't receive enough information from our doctor to make informed decisions. Building trust through accessible communication and sharing of information is key for bringing first time patients onboard.
