Even though i didnt play to the best of my ability the course was great. It lives up to its name, the course is really hilly. Alot of the fairways are very wide. I would definately return to play again. Pace of play is extremely quick when i played, almost too fast for my liking.

Has always been an excellent course. It was in fairly good conditions even for the winter. Unfortunately, a few temporary greens were in place. Can't wait to play again in the summer

An outstanding place for casual golfers. A scenic course through natural forest, with holes varying between approx 75 and 120 metres.
Having played a few local par-3 courses, this one stands out.
Friendly staff, no pressure. Ideal for beginners and up. Strongly recommended

Nice course but took about 6 hours or so to play due to the fact the 3 guys in front of us were sharing 1 set of clubs! - we basically had to wait for them on all the holes. Did not notice they only had one set until the 14th or 15th hole. I mentioned this to the fellow in the pro shop and he did not seem to care. No Marshall’s were seen on the course. For 100.00 a round I expect a bit more

The course is in good shape early this year. Still winter tees but they have trimmed some of the trees underneath to make some of their quirky holes a little more accessible.

Such a lovely place and the food is great quality and the price is very reasonable.
What a great experience to have especially since we didn't even plan to eat out.

Other golf clubs are a course with an attached restaurant. These guys attitude is we are a restaurant with a course attached. Unless local to Peace Portal not worth it. No sandwiches to go. Only selling the brunch. And premium green fees.for what? !

You can see positive reviews are only for restaurant. All golfer reviews are negative! That’s what they owners want I guess.

They claim sandwiches and hot dogs available but wasn’t at 11am and we were a 8 am tee off. So no excuse that they got taken. The staff at the coffee shop were simply not interested in golfers just the brunch crowd!

I can't recommend The Hills Restaurant enough! I hosted a daytime event recently and Keira and Jacquie were such a pleasure to work with. They truly went above and beyond to bring my vision to life, especially with all the last minute requests and dietary restrictions! All my guests had an amazing time and LOVED the food.

I would like to thank Jacquie, Keira, and all the staff at The Hills for accommodating us - and for making our celebration an absolute success!

We came in for the Cannon wine and Dine pairing night on Valentine’s Day. The Food service and drinks were outstanding. The timing for all the courses was perfect. Thank you for making our Valentines Day amazing.

First round of the season, I have not played the Hills at Portal before, it was a great experience, very hilly lots of fun!

Decided to try the hills for valentine's dinner, ambiance was good, music was not too loud, live music started at 6: 30pm.

Food was good, portion a little on the smaller side but not overly salty and was very balanced. Had the chowder with seafood added, cauliflower appy, duck main, steak with fries and chocolate pie dessert either salted caramel Gelato. Appy is a bit pricey. The other is fine.

Owner or manager dressed in pink which is cute and nice. Each table received a rose today. Very considerate.

We were told that website is not updated. Use FB or Instagram for most updated information about the restaurant.

What a experience at the Hill at Portal Golf course last night. Amazing service and food, staff was on top off all of the requests and delivered above and beyond. Highly recommend you try the dining experience.

Had our work Christmas party here. About 35 people. It was perfect. Great space, good food. Timing was a bit off so we didn’t all get our entrees at the same time but that’s not that big of a deal. Staff was attentive. Would recommend.

New dinner menu is excellent. Our party of four ordered different mains and all dishes were outstanding. Service was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. Great value as well.

I've played a few times in the last few months and really enjoyed the course. It's not easy, with all the ups and downs, but a lot of fun! We are also really impressed with the restaurant, which has an excellent chef and very attentive staff. The new menu is amazing. Everyone enjoyed their meals!

The new changes are all excellent. The course is also in great condition. It is a wonderful experience and great place to golf. The restaurant is really good too. Keep it out of the trees and you’ll have a great time.

Husband and I rode our bikes over. Had a great dinner and drinks on the patio. Service was excellent. Love the setting and decor. Bonus, there's also a cafe open from 7-3 daily. Now we have another local restaurant and coffee shop in our community.love it!

Nice golf course. Very hilly as the name states. Well maintained and groomed course and tee boxes. Will definitely be back for sure. Fair price. Golf carts are well maintained and tons of power for the hills. Very good time.

I love this course! You would never know you were close to a city. The course has deep valleys where you tee off from one side and hope it lands on the top of the other side! You need to be ready for a decent walk.

Course was in good shape. A number of Tee Boxes closed as it appears they were either resoded or topdressed/ overseeded. Green's in good shape. Grounds crew out doing spring cleanup. Some warm weather and course should be in great shape. I will be back this week.

Used to nice course, good layout, but now the green condition is getting worse, super slow, hole 4 is a par 3, there were 4 groups waiting.

I enjoyed my experience playing Peace Portal! A very wide open course with a lot of room to roam! Whether you walk it or use a cart (makes it a lot better post round experience) ; great rates and quality cuts on the greens / fairways! The staff all seemed very friendly and accommodating.

Have played this a few times and have to say I was really disappointed to see the course condition, especially the greens. 3 green was close to dead, little grass on the others, 2 putt rule needed. Tee boxes are coming along and you can see the work being done but the greens need serious love. The course is a classic, please give it love.

Played here for the first time last weekend after a rainy week. Fairways were in good shape. Greens were decent. Surprised by the elevation changes. Its a workout walking the course. A cart is definitely recommended.

Aug 4th 3: 00PM tee time. 4th hole par 3 no grass on tee box just dirt, 16 people on hole either playing or waiting. 1st 9 hole took almost 3hrs to play. Back 9 only took 2.5 hrs to play due to several players in front of us and 1 from our group all who walked off due to pace of play. Never saw a marshall during the whole round. Let the pro shop know about our dissatisfaction after our round and he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. Traps looked like they had not been racked in days. Have not played there in a while and could see no evidence of any improvements and general maitenence has been let go. Looks like owners are just jamming the players out and pocketing the profits. Signed by 8 local golfers who will not be returning.

Brutal experience. Can you give no stars? Attitude from the start at the pro shop sucked. Then they start sending groups out what seems like every 4 minutes. Bottom line a 5 HOUR ROUND IS UNACCEPTABLE! When we complained for the 5th time about the slow round and ask if the Marshall is doing something about it we are told there is no Marshall. What a joke. Course is average at best. Greens are in good condition but fairways were rock hard and the constant up and down made the course unbearable. Lack of a Marshall is unacceptable these days. NEVER GOING TO PLAY AGAIN.

Horrible course for the price. Completely soaked and muddy. Tee box and fairway is probably the worst I've played in years. Greens were decent.

A challenging course and it is really big. You have to walk for long time. The course could be wet days after raining. Driving is recommended as the course is just too big to walk with clubs.

Best shot makers course in the Lower Mainland. Very mature course. If you can play this course well, you can most any others in the Lower Mainland well.

As Much as I like the game of golf I was not there but caught at the border coming back to Canada, here's a tip stay out of the extreme left lane as that's where they process walking public and we waited until they process four or more people. The lane next to us processed 14 cars to 3 in the left lane.
