Pealow's Your Independent Grocer

This place is well stocked for a grocery store in a town the size of Creston. I was able to find ceramic paste (normally found in a department store such as a much larger Canadian Tire or Walmart) ; as well as everything needed to cook an awesome Indian Butter Chicken dinner.

Would be nice if management would monitor line ups and open up other cash registers. On going issue stood in long lineup listening to people complain only one person working till left groceries in cart at lineup and shopped elsewhere

Stopped here after shambhala. It was nice to be in a town/city where people weren't jaded by the zombie apocalypse and thinking every person that isn't in their cubicle at work is up to no good. Had a much needed rest in the shade without being harassed. Thank you Creston BC.

Great supermarket to shop at. Clean, well stocked, great selection, really great meats and friendly staff. Our go to supermarket.

Brutally sick but needed groceries used the online and curbside pick up must give a 5/5 had an excellent staff member collect my items and kindly brought them to my car with a smile.so ill didn't even think of my bags but she helped put all my items in the car. Excellent service, brilliant staff honestly what a great service they provide saved me from sharing this illness i wouldn't wish on public enemy number 1. Thank you for excellent service!

They are nice friends of our community, support lots of programs. Store is clean and staff helpful. Love the pharmacy staff. I only wish that I could figure out the layout

What a great experience over the holidays.they had elves helping customers and handing out gift cards, what a great experience and atmosphere!

You only get PC points if you buy specific items. Not on what you spend. This is a weakness throughout the Loblaw empire. Many products out of stock also due to issues with loblaws shipping from Vancouver instead of Calgary. Head office has never driven from Vancouver to Creston in winter apparently. I would like to shop at Pealows but they have to have what I need to buy.

I love this place. It’s located in Creston. It has a large stand for fresh produce, the most interesting part is the international stand where you get to have all your favorite foods, it also has a Pharmacy, a baby food and diaper stand of all types. And a beauty stand as well.

Everyone is always so friendly and patient. There have been a lot of changes recently, but it is slowly coming together. The staff are always great and that helps tremendously!

It is so nice that in such a small town, that we have an Independent, to give us the variety and selection of grocery goods that are available in the city.

Moreso, I appreciate that Independent offers a selection of local produce, since Creston Valley had an enviable selection of produce available locally.

It isnt uncommon to see Pealows supporting local charities and food drives, which warms my heart.it makes it easy as well for local customers to contribute.

Independent also brings PC Points to the area, offering another way other than Shoppers to collect points for additional savings. My hopes is that Flash Foods will be available in the future. It sure helps grocery stores to further monetize items that are close to end of life.

I have also had good luck at Pealows with plants. I purchased Christmas planters a week ago and also bought deck planters (strawberries) this summer.

It's our go-to grocery store for sure. There are a few issues that make the store a bit difficult to enjoy. Firstly I find the staff that restocks the shelves are constantly getting in the way. They don't seem to understand that when they have a cart full of products that it's not the smartest thing to leave that cart right in the middle of the aisle. They also don't seem to understand that THEY need to get out of the way of the customer not the other way around. Frequently I have to dodge around them to make sure I don't get run over. There's an underlining sense of superiority with the staff that taints the whole feel of the store. Like I said, great store, but for a few issues. Self-checkouts are finally here! Yahoo!

This is a Loblaws affiliate, so you can expect whatever stock Superstore is likely to carry.

You should know that cashier lines here are slow. So slow, in fact, that I try to avoid it if have have a time concern.

They need to drop there prices
Way too high for cabbage lettuce
And such.poor person food!
So sad.
We ain't all well off in Creston.

I don't know what to think about this place some days the coolers are empty someday the shelves are empty it's confusing

Staff are friendly, but there's not enough of them. Get ready for a looooong lineup and a loooong wait to check out. That is, if you can find what you're looking for. Constantly running out of stock, and takes weeks to get back in. If you run into the owner, talk slow, because he's not that bright!

I am not allowed to shop here any more. I shopped in this store literally every day for months, but this week a burly DOOR GUARD wanted me to gag myself, or else to read my Doctor's certificate which I do not carry with me. I am not well enough to do battle with an obese old man, so I simply told him he is not even ALLOWED to ask me for such, and that I would go else where. So it's bye bye for me and several others I have spoken with. One young woman in the competition told me she had been accused by a Pealows staff member of hoarding. She showed me a picture of her shopping cart. It truly was quite full, but didn't appear to have duplicates, and she feeds a family of 9. She won't be coming back, neither. I asked for her number so I could post this travesty to community anti-social media. Again, Too bad, as some of the staff there is decent, and I am told the owners are really trying.

Over priced goods that is expired or has gone bad within twenty fours hours of bringing it home, always sold out days before restocked never have any good sales or deals or they sale price is not registered in their til and you buy it on sale only to take it home and realize you have been charged fill price and what the hell is having the points card if you can't cash them in?

Workers have quite a knowledgement of where things are you can ask a question and they can tell you right away which laine your product is in

I purchased meat from here and it was rancid, Never agen will I trust this store for produce.october 2020

Very disappointed- they have a huge sign that requires MANDATORY MASKS - yet I just counted 23 people in the first two aisles without! I will think twice before shopping there again -

On previous occasions it has been a good shopping experience. However our last experience I rated as OK, the reason being a lot of stock was depleted and we had to shop at another grocery store to satisfy our needs.

Good food good service reasonable prices you shop at mater and dent time there's nobody there you can just go around to your business or go really early in the morning

Since the pealows took over this store has been on a constant upwards swing. For some reason the meat their just isnt as good as the other local grocery store. Constant staff turn over does make good customer service more difficult.

Nice selection of fresh vegetables and probably the biggest selection of herbs I've seen in any grocery store!

The owner is lovely and the selection is good. I love that he tries to have local products. Would love to see more of that. It would also be excellent if the excess food that isnt fit for sale was donated or given away instead of thrown out.

The staff are friendly and helpful although their packing is a bit slow. I do wish customers were not solicited for charities. I go there to do my shopping not to be solicited (we have our own charities). Also, I hope that leftovers are not thrown out, but given to needy folk.

I purchased a boat load of Skittles and Starbursts in their $1/package sale. They rang them through for me the way I needed them to show (individually for the Cineplex offer) AND helped carry them to my car

I bought a carton of peaches on Sat. Aug. 31/2019. The package cost me $6.99. The peaches looked good in the package but when I got home that same day and tried to eat them, I found every peach was like mush inside with NO taste. It was a total waste of $$$ and I'll never buy fruit again there after this. One star is one too many.

People buying groceries is what keeps the cashiers their jobs. Getting attitude for having a cart full has happened more than once.

Bought sweet chilly chicken wings 16 pack got 15 pieces and 1,2 inch wing tip was my 16th, no meat on it nothing to eat on the wing tip.

The staff is friendly and the store is clean. A very good selection of products along the Superstore line. The only short coming is the selection of fresh meats.

I drive every day to Indecent Pealow's store. Because, I find what I need. They have a very expanded item's. The prices are competitive. Fruit and veggies fresh. Great selection of breads. Staff very helpful, friendly. Clean atmosphere. Always ready to help. In one word. This store is the best we ever have in Creston. Thank you for your friendly services. I love then all
