Penang Szechuan Cuisine

This restaurant focuses on takeout orders and patrons who are sitting in the restaurant, wait and wait and wait. Yes she said the food wait was about 30 minutes. 50 min sitting here and received the roti only.
Wondering how long the wait will be for everything else.
Not happy about it.

Came to white and walk but this small restaurant, the food was surprisingly amazing. Will definitely comeback again!

This restaurant is really very calm and soothing. I really like this restaurant personally. The food is very tasty here. Their Service I liked the most. There is one girl named Ashmeen working over here, she is very nice. Her serving service is very good.

A family favourite to order take-out from on occasion. Recent order was hot, fresh and flavourful and everyone enjoyed it. It feels a bit pricey to make this an option more often but they do pack the containers full and there ends up being enough for leftovers the next day which is great.

I love this place so much! Their kungpow calamari is to die for! The owner is amazing and always remembers people and their order! Love love love!

Great food and service was excellent. Fresh and hot food. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items.

Their new online order site showed our $100 order would arrive in 35 minutes and 1.5 hours later we are still waiting. After a dozen calls we finally got through to a woman who could barely speak English and hung up on me when I demanded to know when our food would arrive, she said "so sorry, so sorry" and then click, she hung up. They definitely got my $100 visa payment and it looks like i'll be going to the grocery store for dinner ingredients. Ridiculous! Save your money and order from a reputable restaurant. Sadly the new owners clearly don't value their patrons.

So Diappointed this place was the best around it was so great. Now there is new owners and quality has gone down hill I ordered ginger beef my ultimate favorite from panang well not any more there is either no beef or so small pieces every piece I bit into I looked and the batter was Hollow just eating deep fried batter with the sauce so gross. I boosted about this place to every one before now never go back.

We order from this place at least 1-2 times a month! The food is delicious the staff is friendly, the food is prepared promptly our orders are almost always correct and when they are not the staff goes above and beyond to ensure we are taken care of!

Service was inattentive and lazy. When we arrived we were the only customers but we were left waiting a good five minutes before the waitress brought menus. Then we had to ask to see the lunch special menus. Took another ten minutes before she took our order. Received half cup of tea which was never refilled. No water offered. The food was uninspired. Tiny bowl of hot and sour soup was spicy enough but strangely sweet. My chicken dish had barely any chicken and consisted mainly of onions. I liked the spiciness but it was also strangely sweet. My companion had a different chicken dish and barely ate anything it was so bad. I really don’t like leaving negative reviews but this place is terrible. Don’t waste your time or money. There are plenty of good places to eat in White Rock so I advise you to give this a miss.

We usually order takeout from here quite often and it has been great.but last order of sweet & sour pork with Thia pork and house rice was totally disappointing.while the rice was fine the 2 pork items were terrible.the pork was hard & chewy and felt like you were eating gristle. I hope this is not a continuous practice or change of ingredients but we will be avoiding this place for awhile unfortunately. We gave the harder pieces to our dog.

Good variety of lunch specials, served hot and fast. Delightful server with attention to detail. Prices are reasonable.

Food taste great, it will be on the milder side if you will compare it against traditional cooking. Portion is a bit small for me. Everything went well during our visit to this place. Just an eye soar for some reason there were 2 kids or teens who were none paying customers who were playing around and just doing what they want to do in the premises. The overall experience of the customer matters. Hope no one is using this place as a hangout while waiting or are those kids related to the employees or owner?

Food was decent enough but unfortunately it took nearly 3 hours to get. You read that right. Almost 180 minutes after was told to pickup in 40. You have been warned.

Went here for a quick dinner. Sat down with my gf. Took 15 - 20 minutes for the waitress to give us a menu even though only three tables were seated. Elderly couple beside us waited so long for food that they demanded for a refund and left to eat somewhere else. There was a bug in our soup and the noodles with pork was mediocre. The older couple said "this restaurant used to be so good, what a waste". I agree, this restaurant is a waste of your time.

Have been ordering take out here a few times and before we always thought their food were a little bit too greasy (mee goreng and Sambal green beans especially) Today we ordered 4 dishes and they were all amazing! Not greasy, or soggy. Mee goreng and Sambal green beans with prawns both got a nice kick (They weren’t spicy before)
Honey garlic pork and Mongolian chicken were delish too. Wonder if they got a new chef? Will definitely be back!

Horrible, wonton soup was cold. The wonton were none existed. Flavorless. Definitely wont be ordering wonton from there again. Very disappointing as I read reviews that said everything was great but unfortunately my experience was not. Hopefully they read this and take this comment as helpful criticism. I will have to try some of their other dishes. The rice was delicious though so I'll order that again

Taste very good, very legitimate Szechuan spicy food, fresh ingredients and very nice owner. Service was great, will come back often for sure

Great menu with a lot of our favourites. We enjoy trying a variety of classics & new dishes. Friendly welcoming service food is amazing and portions are very good.
A must try for Malay cuisine especially if you like Laksa. I am very impressed and satisfied with their service and food quality. Not all Laksa in white rock I've tried give a good amount of meat and toppings on their Laksa.

They typically have good Asian food in generous proportion. Very friendly and efficient staff. Ron and Cheryl, the owners, are super nice. It seems like once in a while they have another chef who provides too-small-portions and so-so food. I hope the pandemic restrictions are over soon and I get to visit again. I don't even know if they have the same owners now or new ones.

Such great food & amazing owners who get to know their clients. My husband and I order the same thing every time and it is always a 10/10. Our go to order is crispy orange beef, malaysian fried rice & green jade vegetables.

Ordered takeout Sambal Green beans with Shrimp, Pad Thai, Malaysian Fried rice, and Egg rolls. Ready enjoyed the spiciness of the dishes. Nice crispy egg rolls. Delicious!

Ordered takeout, would never recommend this place to anyone. No flavour, small portions. How do you mess up sweet and sour pork? So bad.

I have never had Chinese food this bad. The chicken was chewy the chicken with black bean sauce tasted like it had sweet and sour sauce in it.this is the first time im placing a review its that BAD

We stopped here for dinner after a long drive from Olympia, WA. Everything we ate was super tasty but the roti appetizer was really really good. Our server was very friendly and kinda and offered us suggestions of things to do in the area, another woman who was eating there told us she had been eating there for 25 years and it’s the best Chinese in the neighborhood.

Absolutely worse food I've had in a long time. We had delivery and food wasnt even hot, had barely any flavor and the portions were small.when I called the manager he was arguing with me over how I was first costumer for delivery and it shouldn't of been cold and then how they make everything fresh in house. Never ordering again

Great food, great customer service, great all around. We placed an order for pick up and it was ready in minutes.

Roti Canai was amazing, especially the curry sauce. The Thai Chicken was great too. Why 4 and not 5 stars? Because we were expecting more beef in the Satay Beef Flat Noodle. There were only a few small pieces in an otherwise great dish. It might be just the way they make it, but would have liked to see more meat.

Will definitely try other dishes.

Penang's is hands down the best szechuan cuisine in white rock. Going there is just such a comfortable atmosphere and the food is absolutely amazing.
The portion size and price are also great too! A real White Rock gem!

Honesty I struggle to give this restaurant even one star. The food is disgusting! I could go on & on how gross the food was.just avoid this place.

Would have been five stars if the prices remained as they were and if more meat were in the noodles and rice. Otherwise, very nice owners and staff. Good food, great service. They are best for takeouts: quick and accurate orders always. The food is not quite true Malaysian or Singaporean, but it's a variation of that. Highly recommend this place.

Cozy place serving authentic asian and especially Southeast Asian cuisine! The satay is on point. Wish the menu included more regional classics like Hainanese chicken rice. Will definitely be back!

DO NOT EAT HERE FOLKS! Behind the smiles and service is a disregard for quality, integrity, and over pricing. Malaysians / Penang and Szechuan folks don't even dine here. We gave them an opportunity twice to see if they would improve even on the Asian Basics. Watered down / rip off soup, bland dishes and non equal portions. People of White Rock and South Surrey, the truth has been revealed. The one star is not a true rating.

Amazing Asian food, flavours are brilliant and the staff are great. We stayed in white rock for a few nights had it one night and was blown away, it was so good we ordered takeaway the night before we left so we could have it for dinner after the drive home the next day, will be back whenever I'm in a 20km radius.
