Penticton Public Library

Wow I did not realize that our library is so busy. The staff there looked happy and Profesional and willing to assist. It was a pleasure. Going there again tomorrow.

It's a nice comfortable Library with a nice variety of books that you can read beautiful building nice and quiet

No wait, very courteous! I needed help on the computer and got the help I needed!

Unfriendly greeter in front lobby, asked for my purse which was fine and wanted me to leave it on top, I was concerned re theft he laughed at me saying nothing has been stolen before but did put it in the cabinet, when I returned from the bathroom he commented on the position of my dress I explained I had shorts on underneath, He then said” “ I didn’t get it. ” not sure what I did to receive such disdain…is it because I wanted to use the bathroom and protect my property? I think it’s uncool to treat a woman like they are neurotic

Love this library although on two occasions I’ve been very disappointed with the young gentleman who works the front desk.

Once- both my infant children were crying. I was very frazzled and 10 cents short on my printing. He told me to return another time. Another employee, (clearly a parent herself), lent me the ten cents and helped me out.

Today, I was frantically chasing my toddlers around to leave the library. I asked him for a plastic bag if possible as my hands were full. He threw the bag at me and fortunately, another lovely patron helped me load the books.

Both experiences have been quite disappointing and I think in todays climate- common courtesy & empathy goes a long way. Gratitude to those who helped me.

The Penticton Library contains archives within the community museum which is in the same building as the Library. Penticton has quite a bit of interesting history.

Have not had any problems here ever, but could use new carpet and floors, smelt the same since I was a kid. I don't think it's a good thing anymore. The dust mites are gunna ruin the books.:/

Great library- especially for a town of this size. There is a good selection, very friendly and helpful staff who are most accommodating to help you with what you are looking for. I like that there are quite long hours, having wifi throughout and pleasant atmosphere to sit and read magazines. It's also convenient that it's downtown.

The library is a lovely facility with a good selection of books and materials. The programming they offer are wonderful. The staff is unfriendly, however, and lack customer service skills. Our family uses the library frequently; it's the first time I have actually wished for automated check out.

Probably in need of an update, as the building is showing it's age (old design), but never-the-less, still a great little library. Online books available as well.
