I was browsing up front. There was no one else but me and the older Asian guy behind the counter. He was literally standing there letting the phone go off for what must’ve been minutes blatantly ignoring it.

The pet grooming is fine though

Just all awful people, don't come to this store, shop somewhere else wish I could give half a star.
Their customer service is bad just like the cashiers attitude who laughed at me when I told her something and pointed to a direction which wasn't helpful at all.

My experience was absolutely terrible.i am new to the store so i asked an employee where the bird section was.he blatantly ignored me several times before sighing rudely and saying “what do you want”. I then asked the question AGAIN and he said where it’s always been.so then i had to find it myself without any directions.i then went to the fish section and so i wanted to purchase a 90 cent goldfish.i asked the same guy to take out the fish for me so i could take it home.he then gave a whole speech about how the fish is a living thing as if i didnt know that.therefore he accused me of not having the right equipment and the experience to take care of a goldfish, even though i have taken care of several before.he asked me how big my tank was which he had no right to do. This happened yesterday, at around 8 on August 19th.the employee was quite old and was a male with not much hair.if the manager or any worker is seeing this, please it would be very appreciated if you could talk to him or give him a warning as this type of behaviour is unacceptable as his job is to help customers, not accuse and shame.

This review is for the groomers. Our dog went to a someone named Emma and she was terrible. The whole process was terrible from check in to check out. Our dog didn’t look like he was groomed at al and we were told he barked too much. I won’t be going back as there are many other quality groomers in west van.

Person in charge very rude her name is Mariah or or Matijah very bad customer service my dog had an allergic reaction to a food you guys recommended me even tho i wanted chicken and barley you guys said should be the same chicken and potato and bring the item back if my dog didn’t like it. I returned the item and she said I can only refund 80 percent and she ended up giving me a gift card been a customer since 2018 but will not be purchasing anything from you guys till you guys hire proper staff with training. Very sad

Went in with my children to purchase a beta fish. Had to answer a series of questions to validate that we have a 20g aquarium set up for it at home with live plants, decorations, filter, heater, and more but still would not sell to us after we expressed that we lost our last beta due to an ick problem that we have fixed. My children were extremely disappointed and we were forced to go elsewhere. Extremely small selection of everything anyways and will never return to this store.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent experience I had the Park Royal branch.
As a loyal customer of PetSmart for over five years, I have never encountered such a frustrating situation.

During my recent visit, I was interested in purchasing a small goldfish, which was priced at 0.49 cents. However, I was shocked to learn that the only way to purchase a gold fish was to also buy an expensive 40-gallon tank. This felt like a scam and an unfair business practice.

When I explained that I already had a smaller tank, the sales associate refused to sell me the goldfish and demanded that I purchase the larger tank. Even when I suggested borrowing a larger tank from a friend, the sales associate refused to budge and insisted that I purchase the larger tank immediately.

This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I am disappointed that PetSmart would engage in such deceptive sales tactics.

I wanted to buy a small fish (45 cents) but I'm just wondering why the supervisor asked me to buy a big and expensive water tank for the small fish.
She put customers under pressure to buy something they didn't need.
I believe she needs more training in a supervisor position.

Today I went Into the store to browse. I was appalled to see 4! Bearded dragons in the same enclosure, and 2 in another. A simple Google search will show that for the care of bearded dragons they must be kept separate due to dominance issue. These beardies were babies, and yet we’re already showing signs of malnutrition and illness due to them all being in the same tank. They were being aggressive with eachother, and laying on eachother, something that causes lifelong illness and issues, and is done to “prove” who is alpha. This is not ok. When I told an associate, I was sassed, and told that it was fine. It’s not fine at all. I will be buying my crickets and other products form my reptiles elsewhere. I have always loved this location, but this experience left a terrible taste in my mouth.
