Phnom Penh Restaurant

Went there after 8pm.no waiting. Rice soup noodle have little choices, no chickhen nor pork.
Taste to me just so so.

Finding for parking is horrible. Food is meh, not sure what all the craze it's about. The girl at the front door prioritizes seating based on her own judgment/preference and depending how big your group is and not on your wait time. Evidenced by people who came after us go in first. Don't waste your time and money here.

Busy even on a 4pm on a weekday! Luckily we got seated relatively quickly.

Fried chicken: 10/10. The batter texture, ratio, and seasoning were amazing.
Spring rolls: 6/10. Def packed to the rim w meat
Raw beef: 7.5/10. Zesty tho not as tender as i thought it was gonna be
Pho: 8/10. Broth and noodles good. Wish there were more tender pieces of beef (rather than chewy) in there.
Luc lac (?) /beef w egg and rice: 9/10. Homey.
Viet coffee: 10/10. Strong.

Service was very quick and efficient.

Quite good.

3 stars is a bit unfair, but we ordered really poorly, and it is for multiple reasons:

1. Menu isn't online so we couldn't plan ahead.

2. Menu is ancient. Why are your best/most popular items in the middle of the last page? Chicken wings are hidden in the back.

My advice, which you don't need since it is packed anyway: update your menu and put your best foot forward instead of sticking with that ancient format. Make it easy for me to order well instead of being disappointed!

Wow, what a unique experience! Butter beef was a pleasant surprise and the rest of the food tasted so fresh and perfectly seasoned. No wonder why there's always a huge line up at this place. I don't blame them, it's simply amazing.

I’m a Vancouver local and have been coming here since I was a kid. Ate here tonight with out of town friends and Phnom Penh still has the best fried chicken wings in the city! I also loved this clam dish (see photo) and the oyster pancake dish too (not pictured)! We also ordered a plate of water spinach and it’s so good. That veggie is so hard to cook (for me) so I love ordering it here! Everyone must try this place if they’re visiting or live here! I don’t eat beef much but the butter beef and the beef Luc lac are fan favorites too!

There is a reason this place is packed!
Food is consistent and never disappoints.
Our latest trip had us waiting 1.5 hours (arrived at 6: 30pm, seated at 8pm - our names were put on a waitlist, and a text message sent to you when your table is ready)

Highlights are:
Chicken Wings (it’s Garlicky. With a lemon pepper sauce)
Butter Beef (Asian take on a beef carpaccio)
Beef Luc Lac
Trieu Chau Fried Rice (Teochew Fried Rice)

This is an excellent restaurant serving south east Asian food.
It was a 1 hr wait for our group which is a sign of how popular the restaurant is.

We had #4 which was Mi Kho Nam Vang which was close to the Singaporean Back Chor Mee minus the black vinegar. This is a must try noodle dish. We also had the oyster omelette which was excellent. Lastly we had the chicken wings which was very well done.

When an old Vietnamese restaurant gets a Michelin star, they either rest on their laurels or continue to deliver exceptional food and service. I can joyfully report the food is amazing and the service impeccable.

In a lot of good Asian restaurants there is a sort "get them in, get them out" kind of atmosphere. Understandable given the frequent lines that form. This place was different. It had the lines. It had the awesome food. But the service was warm and unrushed. I loved it here.

Really good restaurant but now it’s gotten a bit too expensive for what you are getting. They took more care plating the dishes before. I will still eat here but not as often.

Déçue. J'ai vraiment voulu essayer leur nourriture. Malgré que j'étais seule il n'avait pas de table pour moi. Il ne voulait pas me trouver une place. Le serveur était catégorique. Je trouve cela décevant qu'il n'était pas ouvert. Ils sont victimes de leur succès. Félicitations

We went there and it was “full” so they asked us to put us on big table for 6-8 to share with strangers…like 4 of them were available with nobody on it they put us on a table and no long after a couple sit with us the woman was almost crying because she had to sit with us it was so uncomfortable and awkward for us… also there’s like 15 table for like 17 employees and they find the way to not give you any service… worst service I’ve had in a long time especially for the number of people working…they also tried to make a fusion Vietnamese/Cambodian restaurant but it’s so hard to understand the menu, it’s very unclear…the food was also weird we took the salad roll with shrimp (shrimp spring roll) my boyfriend took one because it was coming in individual order so I wanted one also when he order and ask for one also when it arrived it was the biggest spring roll I’ve ever seen.she could have told us they were huge… we don’t like to waste food. The hoisin sauce that came with the hot sauce tasted like cigarettes botch…the seaweed soup with beef ball was also tasting funny, the beef ball were so big the middle of them was cold and the soup boiling hot…the chicken on rich with pig skin and shredded porc was also awful I couldn’t even eat half of my plate… we definitely won’t go back…but we were looking at other plates and they looked much better than what we chose… so maybe we just had no luck and didn’t choose right….

Food was good, deep fried chicken is really good. Beef and shrimp fried rice both tasted good

Great restaurant, but they need a visual menu with pictures. Arrive early. After 5 pm, long wait.but worth it.

A friend took us here to this restaurant when we visited Vancouver and it was quite the treat. The food was excellent all around and my whole family really enjoyed the durian milkshake. The chicken wings were my favourite. They also had a few stir fried options for the vegetarians as well (lotus stems, snow pea tips, etc.)

Hidden gem for sure. Got there 20 min early and there was a line outside all down the street! Worth the wait for sure.

This is really overrated restaurant. There is nothing worth visiting - rude service, dirty set up and unattractive atmosphere, average food. There are plenty of other much better restaurants in Chinatown Vancouver. To the owner of Phnom Penh, I have not visited Cambodia so don't know if this is the normal unfriendly service of Cambodian service. You should go back to Cambodia if you think this is acceptable service.

Amazing everything. My friends and I come here yearly for the past 10years with a group of 10-14. The owner and staff are very accommodating and super friendly and helpful. Great place to be for lunch or dinner!

The food is super beautiful, only takeaway is allowed, not dine-in, it's a bit lacking in taste! Oh! Dine-in is now available! The most worth mentioning is: fried chicken wings, super beautiful!

The daily lineups speaks for itself re how amazing everything is. Prices have gone up quite a bit but it doesn’t stop people coming back for more.

It was a 45min at 1545 on a Saturday. You give them your number and they text you when your table is ready. Fried chicken wings were a tad dry and the accompanying sauce was too sour. Dry egg noodles could've been more saucy. No issues with beef luc lac +egg on rice except rather pricey.complimentary pork bone soup was very nice, helped with the dry egg noodles.

Can't go wrong with this restaurant. The quality is as good as it has always been.and the line up will always be there, so be prepared.

Not sure what all the hypes about lol food was ok. Not so amazing to the point to wait 1.5 hour. Dishes come out right away right after making an order lol as if they had hundreds of same dishes already made before an order. And this seemed like the case since almost everyone orders the same menu. Pho was super stale and not tasteful. Thinking this resto is a viet i was very surprised. They didnt serve pho with those basic side ingredients like bean sprouts or basil leaves. Very interesting.
