Pho 51 Vietnamese Restaurant

Almost 20 dollars for a large pho that everywhere else would be a small, mediocre broth, service was terrible and the server was very grumpy and rude. Would not come here again

Tried this pho place out of the blue, ended up liking it more than our usual pho restaurant:)

Pay up front + tip upfront regardless of service. And no customer washrooms? I won't go back.

The food was overpriced for what it is. Running at 20 dollars a dish which is about 20% higher than other places (even with the price that’s gone up after Covid), we expected at least good food. Ordered rice dish and the meat was so plain and no grilled flavours at all. Had so many Vietnamese places that’s better than this I don’t understand why this has such high reviews

I typically love Vietnamese subs; but this was subpar 4 me to say the least. On the website it said $7.45, which would have been a more reasonable price for this 7" sub. I was charged almost $12 for pick up for a grilled chicken sub with carrots, cilantro, and onions (there wasnt any cucumbers, which I thought was a staple or sauces). Given that I can get a 12" grilled chicken at subway next door and load it with veggies, I didnt feel the value was present.

Where to begin. Extremely overpriced terrible bland Pho with noodles so over cooked they crumbled into mush and literally 1 small peice of Brocolli and a sliver of carrot. They were extremely put out when i asked for bean sprouts. They also charge money for you to take your leftovers home! I didn't have any change and didn't want to use debit so had to leave it.no loss really but regardless I've never been charged anywhere for that! Worse than the food was the service. UNBELIEVABLY RUDE. Actually I've never had ruder service to be honest. I Will NEVER go back. So many pho restaurants in this area I'd rather support.

They advertise on their website that they close at 8, but I've been there since 7: 35, and when I stated, "Hey you know, I always come here and there's no issue with it, " they finally let me in while still acting really rudely. I just discovered a long hair in my foot, so I asked them to change the food. After they did, it took them 15 minutes to bring my food back. When I tried to eat it, it was too hot, so I had to wait until it had cooled down. They came and stood in front of my table as soon as I started to eat and stated, "We have to close the store. " they also prevented me from finishing my meal. I recorded and took pictures of my food when it was all gone because they wouldn't let me finish it, and I had to leave without enjoying the meal I had paid for.

They serving a small bowl that's why they don't put much soup in the bowl. Some customers they like soup but their bowl is too small. So you don't have much soup. We spend almost $70 for 4 person just for that. I never come back this place anymore.

Food was okay. I didn’t enjoy ordering over the phone. The lady that answered was not friendly and was not understanding what I am saying. She kept referring to the pho as “chicken noodle soup” and it had me confused. I kept saying chicken pho large. Then she got irritated a little and said yes chicken noodle means chicken pho. I mean ok sure I guess? If I’m at Tim Hortons or white spot I ask for chicken noodle and to me that is a completely different thing than pho. Please refer to your manu items as they are! Pho was good. I had the chicken pho. I also asked for a veggie spring roll. They gave me a pork one. I even repeated veggie spring roll twice but the lady seemed in a hurry. Anyway I ate a few bites of the spring roll before realizing it was pork. I am a Muslim. Pork is prohibited for us. Needless to say I was upset. Even the receipt confirms it was pork. Why would you do this? Especially since I specified veggie. Listen more calmly and patiently to your customers. Not happy at all. Even though the actual pho was good, this experience leaves a bad taste and I will not return. Although the younger boy that gave me my food was very nice. I left a tip just on takeout because he was patient and good customer service.

Portions are small compare to price in comparison to other pho restaurants. They ask you to order by walking up to the counter as soon as you walk in. Didn't think pho restaurant had changed to fast food style. Once u order and pay for it then they seat you. Makes it harder to have the feel of restaurant experience. Overall would never go back. My kid didn't finish her soup, wanted to take the rest home. Asked for to go bowl and they wanted to charge me $ for to go bowl. Imagine u have already paid when u entered now u gotta pay 50 cents with ur credit card for a to go bowl which is included in every place u go to. Overall the worst experience at a pho restaurant

The pho soup was good, BUT the worst customer service. They get payment before eating food. Whenever you go into the restaurant there is a big board instead of menu, after you choose the food what you want to order they bring the machine in front of you to pay in-advance.

Perfect food for cold weathers! The services are great and the food are very tasty. Fresh ingredients and reasonable pricings. Highly recommended for lunch and dinner!

Excellent high quality Vietnamese food with great service, the ordering and paying before you sit makes it super fast and easy to quickly enjoy great food and simply leave when you're done.

Dropped into Phở 51 on way back from camping at Golden Ears.

Their broth is so tasty and super clear. Too many Phở restaurants have bland broth. Phở 51’s broth is one of the best in metro Vancouver. Great amount of noodles and meat.

Their Vietnamese coffee was perfect. Too often, it is either too bitter or they use too much condensed milk. Perfect ratio. Hit me like a ton of bricks, in a great way. Reminded me of my trip to Saigon.
Their lemon soda was spot on as well. Super refreshing and not too sweet. Again, too many restaurants use too much sugar for this drink and it will hide the lemony taste. Perfection.

Will be back!

My FAVOURITE Vietnamese place. Food is always amazing and staff are always great. It’s clean and service is quick:)

My family favorite place. My in-law came from California where alots of Vietnamese community live but whenever they comes to visit they always ask to come to have Pho in this place. Big bowl of Pho with a lots of meat. Clean.

2022-05-31 afternoon around 1: 30pm. Not busy. We ordered one house special and one pork sub. If you like meats, you will like their pho which is full of meats! But I am more impressed by their sub. So delicious! I did not even want to waste a second to take a photo so I did not take one, sorry Grilled pork sub is a must-order! Server lady is very friendly. Great customer service too. Strongly recommend Pho 51!

We were really surprised by the price bump. One pho noodle soup for almost $16? Vermicelli for 16.50? Thats like $18 a bowl with tax.
I like the taste here. But I just cannot justify the price for the bowl of pho.

Fast service and covid safe. However the broth could be hotter. It was only warm and not warm enough to cook my beef slices.

Did not love the order process.or the whole ambience, however the Pho was surprisingly DELICIOUS, and very generous with meat. I was pleasantly surprised.and won over.

The taste is very good and I have been there many times. Recommend pork chop rice and satay beef noodle

I'm a pho-fanista.it's a thing I swear, maybe.ish either way this is the best pho outside of Richmond hands down.

Good food but very pricey! $16.50 for pork vermicelli bowl. Un pho get a bowl on shaughnessy is better. Better food, better prices. But they are closed Tuesdays so i went here. But still good food!

Very efficient service here, the ordering was all done before we sat down and the food was good overall. Everything seemed well spaced for covid. Give this place a try, nothing like Pho on a cold rainy day!

I read a lot of comments in terms of price being a bit high. I can see that but would also caution that it’s because their ingredients seem insanely fresh. Have to pay good money for quality ingredients.

Had the noodles and tried the rice even opted for a won ton soup as well. All was worth my money and I’ll be back with my wife on another cold day.

The prices on food and drink is a bit high here. I really liked their coconut milk shake! It's super good and creamy with lots of flavour. Top notch. However, the food itself was kind of bland. One thing I did not like was when I ordered takeaway. No one called my number, and when I arrived they were giving me someone else's order. I should have gotten a receipt. Fortunately, the girl that took my order and payment came on the scene, and handed me the correct bag. Service is friendly but I hope for future orders they do not mix it up.

One of my 'go tos' for delicious, fairly priced pho. Owners and staff are always very friendly, fast and respectful of your time.

Haven't explored the menu much beyond the tripe pho, but that's probably a good sign because I love it so much!

First pho takeout since covid started and it was just so-so. Ordering via phone is tough because there is no menu so you have to have an idea of what you want. That being said, the person on the phone was helpful and patient as I explained what I wanted and the order came out to what I expected. When picking up the food I saw the most staff were wearing masks but not the cashier - I guess it was so he could talk. The food itself was ok. Not pretty like you would get during an eat in but I've had a lot of take out pho and this was underwhelming. The spring rolls were good but overly oily. The meat quantity was good and the texture was tender. I felt the amount of noodles was small and the overall flavor was what one would expect for fast food. I'd give this a 3.5 star as it was good but although it wasn't the worst pho I've had, it was far from the best especially at that price and don't feel it's worth rounding to a 4 star.

Hmmmm.two different sized bowls when hubby and I ordered the exact same meal. Flavor was awesome though!

Great service. Generous portions of tender meat in all 3 bowls of our pho. Other son had kids menu lemongrass pork on rice w/spring roll. Huge portion. Could almost split one kids meal between two smaller kids. Good work!

My family and I love this place. We eat there any time we want pho. There are a lot of options for pho chicken noodle soup, and we have tried most in the area and this place is by far the best one. The chicken is high quality. The staff are always attentive, quick and very nice. I'd recommend this place to everyone.

Introduced my son to pho soup today. Great food (pho soup with rare steak & lemongrass chicken on vermicelli with spring roll) & service. This is one of my favorite comfort food restaurants.

This place is a hidden gem in Coquitlam with some very delicious pho. We usually go with the House Special and the soup tastes just about right. Also the beef and the noodle are yummy. It could take a little while to get your food even when it's not super busy.

16 bucks for mediocre rice dish and 4.50 for a single spring roll. Never coming here again. Feel violated.

They forgot to put in my order but their service were so considerate and fast. I enjoyed my lunch here. I really liked the chicken pho.

I've been here a few times and each time the service seems to get worse. The last time my mom and myself ordered noodle bowls, which really how hard is it to get the order wrong? Our orders came, my mom's order was missing one meat component and when we tried calling a waiter over no one came over to help, so we went to the front desk only to be given attitude. A very rude waiter came over with our bill to look at what we were given. Not quite sure what she muttered under her breath only that I could tell she was not interested in fixing the mistake and that we as customers did not matter. SO after a few minutes of looking over our bill, another waitress came over with the forgotten meat component from our order in a small bowl. Now keep in mind it was COLD AS A ROCK and not even somewhat warm. So we brought to their attention yet again. Only to have it brought back in the same bowl except this time with soup in the bowl and with an explanation that it was already cooked. Cooked or not.shouldn't it have been brought out as it would have been served? Rather than stone cold in a just as cold bowl.

Also on the same night, my sister joined us a few minutes later after we had been served. They saw her walk in and she said to the waitress who greeted her that she was with us. No one thought to bring her a menu or ask if she wanted one. When I asked the waitress who was wiping up the table behind me if I could get a menu for my sister. She raised her hand up at in IN MY FACE as to say wait this is not my problem. And with quite a bit of rudeness in her tone of voice said she would get one of the other waitresses to do it. Then proceeded to yell across the room for a waitress who was in the process of serving another customer to bring us a menu.

Will I go back? No. Never. They can offer me a years worth of free meals and I still will not go back. The Pho restaurant by Costco is better by leaps and bounds. Have a nice day.

Concerns about cleanliness of restaurant.tables were dirty and sticky. Kindly asked if table could be cleaned.staff quickly wiped it off with a dirty cloth that fell on the floor.bathroom was filthy and needed attention. The food was mediocre but chicken was very fridgy tasting and did not taste fresh Don't think I will be back!

Great atmosphere with prompt service during a busy lunch, and the house special soup was fantastic. New favorite.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, casual place, wonderful authentic food, no complaints whatsoever! Even the kids loved it!

There were three bugs in my soup. Absolutely do not recommend the noodle soups. The salad roll was okay though, so one star for that.

High quality Vietnamese cuisine in a convenient location. The rating is as-is because of the price to portion / quality ratio. The Coquitlam Pho 99 offers a significantly larger portion with relatively equal quality for the same price point (the soup is better here).

This place has dishes suitable toward to people who dont like beef flavour or less fond of this vienamese flavour food.

This is one of the places in PoCo I go to regularly. My brother, who's had a lot of Pho, told me this is his favourite Pho place in the Tri-cities and so my obsession began.

I've had their *Pho* multiple times and like the complex flavour of the broth. I also like their *Bun* (vermicelli with grilled meats salad and roll) and always ask for additional nuoc cham (fish sauce) and the *Com* (rice dish with grilled meats, salad and over easy egg). I just wish they had the right proper Vietnamese roll.

The Bun Bo Hue and fried rolls were very good. The soup was just the right amount of spicimes and the roll was crispy without being greasy. Good place for a quick lunch or dinner.
