Phở 99 Surrey

Went for lunch. The food was good. Large portion. However, I was the only person in the place. There were 3 servers. After seating me, the server didn’t come back for nearly 10 minutes. Took my order, the food came fast. The server never came back. I had to go ask for my bill.

Always convenient and comforting. Especially on a cold winter day. The owner is lovely and takes feedback to heart and makes any changes.

Order beef stew. Amazing.
Rare beef soup with faty steak.
Very good.
Portions are large. Lots of meat.
Tasty.

I just had the dumbest encounter with this restaurant! They have a kids menu but refuse to let you order a kids meal for takeout? Help it make sense? !

The person taking our order was very awkward but that wasn't a really big issue. What was an issue was that they gave us the wrong order 3 times! The eggs were supposed to be sunny side up but ended up being overeasy. The Vietnamese coffee also taste burnt as well as had a weird aftertaste.

I always like going to this place. It's a good size place, so can usually get seated fairly quickly. The staff are "always" friendly towards me, my family, and my friends.
And the food is always delicious, and it's very good price. And if you like bubble-tea, it is really good too.

It's OK. Nice that they are open later than most pho restaurants in Surrey, but if you've had better (like Kim Hoang), this place is just mediocre.

Really wanted to order, but couldn’t because there’s no vegetarian options for pho, not even a veggie pho. Had to pass

I ordered 2 avocado milkshakes and it was smaller than usual, they wouldn’t refund me and it was $7.50 each.

I used to come by here from time to time and we would order food for dinner and lunch to go. However, I recently came here and the fried squid feet tasted like freezer burn… not only that but so did the spring rolls…. The worst part of all was, I had dropped something under the table, when I went to pick it up I had seen caked up rat droppings in the corner of the booths and wall… it was so caked up I immediately felt sick. I started to look around and noticed rat droppings near the pants by the entrance. Under every booth there’s caked up rat droppings and grime. I used to love this place. It just feels to gross and grimey, only the pho and lemongrass chicken are good. I’ll ever be able to enjoy it again.

During Friday dinner rush, I ordered a chicken banh mi to take out and was very impressed! Quick pick up. They got my special request correct with much delicious roasted chicken inside. Only thing was I ate a very hot pepper in the middle and wasn't sure if it was supposed to be there. After I try the pho I'll review it 5 stars if I love it.

TASTE QUALITY:
Best Pho I've tasted in Bc so far. The food is not disappointing and the taste is on point. Very authentic cooking which brings back childhood memories. When it came to the milk tea/bubble tea.it was very flavorful and the tapioca pearls where such a wonderful texture. In all honesty I was shocked by the texture of the pearls.

STAFF:
The staff where so nice and made me feel right at home like I was one of their relatives. Furthermore, they are patient with customers that take longer to order. Which is a personal plus for me.

SERVICE:
I literally have never been served my food so fast. At the end of my meal I paid and stayed an extra 10-15mins at my table looking at maps to find a book store in the area and I wasn't rushed out or anything.

PRICE:
Not to mention the takeout containers they have are higher quality than I am used to. And to top it off the amount of food you get for the price is just down right awesome!

CONCLUSION:
I would definitely recommend. 10 out of 10 would go again

I asked for milk tea without ice because of my sore throat, and the lady refused to give me it without ice because she is cheap! Horrible service, they just want your money! I got it without ice last time, and I suppose they talked amongst each other and started refusing to serve drinks with no ice because it requires a bit more product.sham!

I asked for milk tea WITH NO ICE because of my sore throat, and they REFUSED to give me it without ice because they ARE CHEAP! The lady said they cant do it without ice! Such liars, you can easily mix the powders but not add the ice! Horrible service, they just want your money!

I went there on Oct 27th night.

We ordered 2 pho dishes. Neither of them looked like what was in the menu. They were very soupy and there was not much toppings even with bean sprouts in them.

The soup tasted alright. I know, in Vietnamese culture that customers often put sauces on their own to make it more to their tastes. The soup itself tasted weak, but for the above reason, we didn't care about that too much. The noodles were softer side. What I liked about our pho is that they didn't taste like MSG.:)

Why 2 stars then?
The service was not the best. It was fast.but, there was no smile, no friendliness from the young male server. He basically asks what you want and that's all. There was a server (owner?) who looked like a bit older than him and he was a bit more friendly. When it came to payment, if we had been served by only this young server, I would have left 0% tip. I guessed they would share tips.so, I left 9%.

I was a server at Asian restaurants, and I worked hard to get my tip. If I experience great service, I leave at least 30%.

Pho is alright, I had better. But for the price i guess is good. Waitress are not too friendly.

It was my first time trying pho. The restaurant is quite good. The customer service from the girls is amazing. Talking about food, i ordered a large spicy bowl of soup and rice noodle. The noodle was pretty good, but the chicken tasted a little weird. I don’t know if it was supposed to be like that or it was something wrong in chicken.

The spice level in the spicy was too much for me.hahahaha, but i still loved it.
