Pho Japolo

First time here for lunch with my wife because it was convenient. Our daughter had a volleyball tryout just a few minutes away. I liked the portions for what you pay, plus the food tasted great! I really liked the cozy setting, it was busy during Sunday lunch time. My favorite dish us always the pork chop on rice, while my wife likes the bun bo hue.

I feel like Asian food and was lazy to eat out, so I’m made a call to order from Japolo!
My expectations were not high
I got surprise when I received my food.
Nice packing, everything was packed so tidy and perfect.
I ordered spring rolls, I can say it was one of top 7 I have had, the the Asian rice roll was awesome.
My pho had a great amount of fresh pink beef, fresh tasty noodles.

I have been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the city. Somehow this one flew under the radar. I wish I'd found it sooner. Great lemongrass porkchops and chicken. The Pho Broth is a tiny bit cloudy and has a distinctive flavor compared to other restaurants of this type. Overall, a great restaurant. Will be going back.

Food is poor quality and definitely not made with love… the chef was so angry with the servers we could hear her shouting. Peanut sauce was disgusting and the lettuce garnish on all our dishes was dry and old. No garnish, carrot or cucumber with our salad rolls.

We asked for rice noodle for the house special soup but received something else that was thicker and had gluten in it.

Never going back.

One of the top 3 pho places in Vancouver. Rare beef (#1) is fantastic. Spring rolls are great too.

Food was good. Salad rolls could have more protein to be honest. Otherwise everything else was good.

I've come here lots of times but always did takeout so I didn't realize, the last few times I ate in and the service is terrible. Everyone's rude and when we found hair in our food they didn't even apologize, just wordlessly gave us a new plate. Food's great though sooo

Super delicious pho, I think the chef is quite good, and maybe it will become my favorite pho in town.

This pho should be a controlled substance, it's so good you can't stop thinking about it.

Been going to the richmond and broadway location for years. Really good classic pho. Cant go wrong; my go to pho stop

Amazing soup! I tried no. 20 (seafood pho) on the menu, and was amazed by the soup. Usually at other noodle places I would drink a lot of tea to offset the heavy onslaught of msg and sodium. But at this place the soup is so flavourful yet light and does not make one thirsty. The toppings are plentiful and tasty as well!

In my opinion Pho Japolo has the most flavourful beef broth in this area. It is rich and beefy and spiced to perfection. The sprouts and jalapeños are super fresh. The actual meat topping is a little light however.

Literally one of the best Pho in Vancouver. The soup is what makes the difference. Quick efficient service. Always a satisfying meal. There are other dishes to try but for me, it's only about Pho.

Do NOT spend your money here if you are vegetarian/vegan; choose one of the many other pho places that are veg-friendly in Vancouver. I spent $15 for a vegetarian pho (even added extra veg) and received 6 pieces of carrot and broccoli in an extremely basic veggie broth. Not only was it drastically over priced for what I received but the veggies themselves were terrible; carrots were so mushy I didn’t even have to chew them (not an enjoyable culinary experience). The veggie pho from Pho Goodness is roughly the same price and 100000x better.

Love coming here what feels like almost every week or second week. Pho is consistently good and the vermicelli dishes are also great. Prices are good for what you get too.

I really like pho so it’s hard to come across a pho place I don’t rate high but this place wasn’t that good. I ordered the brisket option and couldn’t find as many pieces in the soup. It was mostly the sauce and some noodles. Expected way better quality!

My favourite place to get authentic Southern Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) pho in the West End! Been going here at least 3-4 times and month since first year.

Price: One of the most affordable place to get Viet food in Vancouver, comparable to small shops on Victoria Dr

Drinks: 2.5/5 Unimpressed with the few times I’ve ordered drinks here

Location: Easy access from UBC via bus 14 or 99. Easy to spot. Usually has empty tables, might be a wait around dinner.
