PHO Tau Bay

We’ve only ever eaten at another Pho restaurant and had to come back to this place because their Pho’ is just beyond compare. I have been to Vietnam and because of my love for the soup would have it on the daily the 7 days I was there. That’s how I know this place has the real deal if you will. Their portions are generous, the mint leaves and sprouts that come with the soup is plenty and the soup? The best ever. Gobsmackingly good specially on rainy days. Service is friendly and excellent too. As to aesthetics? I don’t go there for the ambience - it’s all for the love of Pho’ and this place delivers all of the time.

Absolutely love coming here for the chicken and rice, Vietnamese ice coffee and they have the best fresh squeezed OJ

I ordered to go and when I came back to pick it up I checked my order and they only had a few pieces of meat with the noodles. They always add a lot of meat so I asked for more. The lady gave me attitude while yelling at me across the store, around other customers to come pay $5! I told her I always get a lot and I already payed $16.50 for the bowl so I’m not paying $5 for a few pieces of extra meat. Terrible service. I was very politely with her and spoke with a low tone. I asked for a refund and left! Never coming back!

The flavour of the soup was quite disappointing, it tasted off and was quite thick/oily. The meat was dry as well. Feel like this place used to be better, but after 3 tries I would not come to this location again. There is definitely much better places in the area

I have never felt more unwelcome than I did when entering this restaurant. The servers were unbelievably rude and basically through the meals on our table. I will never return and make sure I let everyone know as well. WOW. 0/10

Nice place to eat. Quiet. Food was great and the prices are decent. The menu has a great selection too.

This pho place is quite decent. The place isn’t anything fancy rather dull and outdated but their food is quite good and served quickly. Priced right as well with good portion size. Broth is deep and flavourful while noodles are fresh. This could be a good go to pho place for local folks.

I ordered a med #2 with a couple spring rolls for $18. I thought it was a bit pricey but they filled that bowl up to the max with noodles. Had a good amount of meat etc and the broth was tasty as well. Spring rolls were good but not the best but definitely not the worst. I was full but I think the price was expensive, I think that price for a large would have been better but I'm from Calgary and the price is cheaper there. Enjoy. I did.

Food was good. Staff was friendly. However I notice the portions here is less than the other locations. Otherwise, it is what you expect compared to other location.

My family and I have been eating here for over 10 years but we will definitely stop after my experience today.

The owner messed up on my order and talked back to me about it in a very rude manner (even after I left a tip this was for a to go order, I always tip them even for take out).

She then stormed to the back to yell at the kitchen staff to fix my order then she came back up to the front and I heard her saying some disprectful things in Vietnamese to the other waitresses about me, probably thinking I am not Vietnamese. Then when I got home my order was a complete mess and it was still wrong.

It use be good but now I know why others have stopped eating and ordering take out from this location. I highly recommend not eating here as the owner is disprectful to the customers and if she treats customers like this then she 100% treats her employees worse.

Tasty broth and doesn't leave you thirsty after. Ordered med house special and grilled chicken, about $14-15 ea, pricey but you get what you paid for with lots of meat!

Nice quiet spot to enjoy some pho.

Usually get the #10 as it has the tendon and tripe and some pieces of beef too. Broth has a nice beef flavor and will always warm you up.

Also one of the items we always get is the prok spring rolls and the pork/shrimp salad rolls. The spring rolls come with a vinegar sauce, always very crunchy and freshly made. Same goes for the salad roll. Comes with a tasty sauce and mixed with fresh veggies.

Reasonably priced and quick service.

Best Pho in surrey! Good thing now they accept debit before cash only.the food is sooo good! Fresh and the service is suburb! Try the avocado smoothie so good!

They put lots of MSG in the broth so that I drank two bottles of water right after. Just don’t waste your $15 on a bowl of beef noodle soup with MSG.

For soups, a good broth is absolutely necasary, this place has the best in North Guilford area.

Best Pho that I’ve tried. Their broth is just something else. I don’t ever order the actual pho when we go to other places. This is the only place I will eat it from. Once you try it, every other place is just flat. Cash only place.

Great delicious Pho! I find this locations more delicious and cleaner compared to the Newton location. It is however smaller with limited seating especially with COVID-19. Regardless, both Pho Tau Bay's are great!

Best place for pho, lots of beef and amazing appetizers and also their shrimp taste hella good. Definitely recommend

I ate here today, but was very disappointed. The service was poor. I had to wait, and ask three times for the accompanying bowl of rice with my meal. Was 1/2 through soup when it came.

Came in today with my sister and my father. Restaurant was slow and dead. Service was altered due to COVID-19 which is totally understandable. Orders were put through at the till and food was brought to our tables. The waitress there, however, was explicitly rude and had a very poor attitude. After our orders were put through, she ignored us on multiple occasions when we asked for sides and other things to go along with our entrees. She would tend to other tables and clean up without ever changing her gloves. When the food came out dish by dish, she would leave the tray with the food in the middle of the table and walk away. My order especially took the longest to complete, and I had a part of my dish come 10-15 minutes afterwards. After paying, I could hear the waitress and staff talking poorly, making comments, and remarks about my father in Vietnamese. They had thought he was another race due to his skin colour, judged his appearance, and simply laughed about it. My family understood every word they said. After that, we paid, no tip, and quietly left.

I wouldn't come back. I would not recommend this to my friends and family due to the poor staff. Sad, because the food was decent but prices were expensive. Look at other options for eatery before stopping here. There's better restaurants nearby.

Terrible service. Food was brought after 20 minutes and it was cold. No utensils so waited for that. No napkins so waited for that. No sauces so waited for that. Food was cold so waited for them to reheat. Ridiculous. NEVER AGAIN!

Came here to eat Vietnamese food with my family. Foods decent but took too long to come. The old lady serving us ignore us and was extremely rude. Never coming again.

I haven't been there in a while, and I thought they've gotten better. My soup was tremendous, and so was my gf's, as was the salad roll. Great broth, excellent noodles, lots of meat. I wanna go back soon.

I like to think I'm a conasure of vietnamese food and if that is indeed the case then you need to visit this place. By far the best viet food in the GVA bar none. No MSG, amazing tasting base soups, awesome pork and well I could go on but if you're close to here stop in and try it.

The broth on the number 1 house special is soooooo good, my favorite pho place in the lower mainland!

They have the BEST broth. Deep, yet delicate beef flavour. I got #5 (rare steak and brisket). Good cuts of meat, fresh veggies, generous portions. Quick, attentive staff. Casual environment. Standard pho prices nowadays.

If you're craving for pho in surrey.i highly recommend this place.ofcourse, if you are expecting a luxurious ambiance, this is not the place to be.go to anh n chi in vancouver.people.writing reviews abt the ambiance abt this place is ridiculous.its like home.in asia.its not suppose to be all preppy. Food is great, especially on a rainy, cool day! Pho is the best, a little on the sweet side.salad roll and banh cuon is always a treat too! The prices went up.but everything went up so i can't really deduct a point for that. Also, they have the BEST avocado shake.just saying! The only reason why i gave a 4 star is.its CASH ONLY.times right now they should be a little bit more flexible for everyone! Service not as perfect but they are very accommodating!

I used to come here all the time ever since I was young. I used to pay for a rice dish for $10, but now they hiked the price up so high. Not just for the rice dishes, but for EVERYTHING. It's a shame because my family and I used to come here for great quality time, but the price is too much. Seems like a lot of people can agree with me. Love the staff though.

Food is about 4 out of 10. Service is -10 out of 10. Cant seem to bring out a simple lemonade drink with my meal. I was done my soup and summer roll by the time the drink came out. I would like to have my drink with my food. This was not the first time. Terrible service.

Food is consistently good for years, but proportions are getting smaller and prices are getting higher. I used to love coming here, but it’s just not worth it anymore.

My wife loves their pho and I love their banh coun (shreded pork wrapped in rice roll). I have to admit that their pho is consistently good. Descent service and bring cash with you as that is the payment they accept.

What can I say about this lovely hideaway. Only that it’s the best pho in town. Say what you want about this and that and the other thing. This place has the best soup in Surrey hands down. The richness of the broth and the freshness of the noodles. This place delivers. Has that experienced and quality over quantity feel to it. Absolutely amazing

Food is great however, I found a short strand of hair on my soup today. I went in front but I only got "Ok, Ok" as a response from one of the ladies in baby blue shirt and the second lady just took the bowl from me without any reply or reaction. Greatly disappointed since we really like this place.

Great pho. The only vegan option I could get (not on the menu) was dry noodle with vegetables. Very good, though!

Not bad for entry level pho but the places in Vancouver will knock your socks off for the same price

Great Vietnamese Restaurant
This is our Vietnamese restaurant to eat when in Surrey. Just 2 minutes off the Portman Bridge, ideally located when driving into Surrey. The restaurant is using an excellent broth for their soups. We eat each and single dish on their menu and loved each meal.

Always delicious food and excellent service everytime we go here.but the food price have dramatically skyrocketed folks who live in the nearby neighborhood cannot afford anymore. There is a public washroom in the corner.
