Affordably Vietnamese restaurant in town, that is the place I visited usually whenever I am at Nanaimo for a while.

Best Pho in town! Fast and friendly service! Will be returning during my next trip to the Island!

I wouldn't really recommend this place. We came because of the good reviews. The space is ugly. No decorations. The service is not good. The poor waiter was running around doing everyone by himself while he had no help. The food was very plain. No taste. The pho was ok but the rest was very tasteless. We also didn't even get a glass of water until we asked or it twice at the end.

Very good Vietnamese food at reasonable prices. The people who work/own the restaurant are very nice. It might not be the prettiest place to eat but I care mostly about the flavour and quality of the food which they do very well at.

I have enjoyed going to Pho VTa for about 8 years now. The family that runs the restaurant are absolutely amazing and always have the best service.
Super delicious food at a great price

We order two beef noodles, spring roll and fried waton today. We find there is human hair in a waton. Then we ask a women to cancel it, she looks angry and say just one hair in one waton. Finally, she return us few pieces of waton. Never come again.

Love this place! I eat there all the time and get takeout consistently and it’s always good. Great value and amazing food.

I love this place. Best Pho in town. Great price and if you love tofu, their tofu pho is delicious! Their chili oil is awesome too!

Price is good and pho is alright. Wontons were the worst I’ve had because the dough was sticky and insides weren’t very quality.

Absolutely amazing, benchmark for Vietnamese foods, all freshly made, beautiful ingredients. Anything with the beef stew is off the charts melt in your melt. Beautiful chillie oil reminds me of my mother in law the best island cooking mmmm I can’t wait to go back!

Best vietnamese in Nanaimo. Miss Ñum makes all the food with her signature touch. Really good portions and variety of dishes. Only Banh Xeo north of Victoria. Best ginger chicken chow mein.

Should preface this by saying Vietnamese food is my least favourite ethnic food. But, as far as that goes, this place was okay. The lemongrass chicken was pretty good. My wife, who loves Vietnamese food, said this place is really good. Service was incredibly slow, though. Even when we asked for the cheque, it seemed to take forever.

Why would you charge extra for hoisin for takeout customer when you have bottles of it for sit down customers for free? And rude owners.

The meatball pho is phenomenal! Definitely recommend. They are soft and flavourful, rather than the tough ones you can often get somewhere else. The vibe of this place is good, reminds me of a French cafe (apparently it used to be a bakery once upon a time!)

It wasn't too good or too bad. It was okay.

The soup you're seeing closer to you is hot and our soup. It came with side rice noodle bowl (not in the picture). The soup was good but the chunks of toppings in it were really big.

The soup on the far end was beef pho rice noodle.

Can't judge restaurant over couple things so gonna give it a try again and update our review.

The broth was very flavourful, chicken was moist and plentiful, yummy egg noodles. Great service, super polite and the server worked with me on my choices. Wontons were really good but had to much meat, I would’ve been happy if they had 50% less meat on them.
I’d SO come here again!

We will say they have the best wor wonton we’ve ever had. Packed with veggies at no extra charge.

I ordered the spicy lemongrass stir fry.
I would have preferred a higher chicken to vegetable ratio and the peppers were a little undercooked. When looking behind their counter and into the kitchen it didn't appear that clean so I didn't have high hopes. The Chicken was tender and juicy and the sauce was so delicious that despite these shortcomings I'm going to give them five stars.

This was my first time at Pho VTa. It seemed to be a family run restaurant with friendly service.
I got the Tues/Thurs special; a spicy lemongrass beef noodle soup with stewed and thinly sliced beef. The stewed beef was insanely tender and the broth was flavorful and delicious.
It was honestly the best Pho I've had in Nanaimo by far.
I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend.

Was recommended to me. Went to check it out. It is a family owned dive, and that is why one goes. Not for the service. Not for the food, ambiance or cleanliness. Was an hour before close. I had the pho ga, which isn’t commonly on menus and thus wanted to try. It was ok. No water/tea, no wiped table, no bean sprouts/basil/citrus to dress pho. That being said, only one server run off their feet for all tables (why it’s important to tip). The lights in the restaurant got turned off while eating 45min before close. They must have been super busy all night as some tables still not bussed. It’s tough. I think I would’ve preferred to be turned away when first presenting as I am sure their food and etx are much better from all the reviews than what I experienced. I don’t think I can bring myself to go again despite wanting to support local.

Food was good, server didn't speak English much so my friend on keto struggled when asking for a substitution. Bit of a "hole in the wall" deal, wouldn't eat in again but would do take out!

Many good Vietnamese places in Nanaimo, but Pho V Ta is my fav. Consistently tasty, family-run, very friendly, great value! #12 my fav dish.

Yum, yum, yum! It's like my sister in law makes! Authentic flavor, quick friendly service and COVID protocols followed with name a number check-in at table when you entre. Highly recommend and will be going back!

I absolutley love this place. The food and service is always amazing, and this is by far the best pho in town that I have tried.

This is the best vietnamese food I have ever eaten! Today I had the bun bo hue extra spicy, and some spring rolls! The bun bo hue was actually spicy compared to other vietnamese restaurants that I've been too and the broth was amazing. I'm on a 9 day vacation from Edmonton and this is my 4th visit here!

Food is decent, but had several occasions where I have asked for an ingredient not to be included and the owner is so fast on the phone that it results in errors. When it happened twice in a week we stopped going.

Delicious Pho! We stopped by after a couple of days in Tofino. The Pho soup was soooo clean & delicious we forgot to stop and take pictures. I’m impressed!

Highly recommend this place. It is near Nanaimo ferry. Bonus, the price is much cheaper than others around the area. I’ll definitely come again when I am in Nanaimo.

Ordered their ground sugar cane shrimp and received 6 flavourless, plain shrimp. Wish I could post a picture for you to compare to the menu. Warning not order take out!
